Sapphire....no, Noa. Noelle.
Despite despising the name, a lifetime of being called by it had conditioned Noelle to only respond to that name. Even to instinctively think of it first when considering how she would introduce herself to others. Even four years of insisting she be referred to by her middle name hadn't been enough to erase that habit.
Oh well, Saph---Noelle would get used to it one day. One day, it will be so natural to her that she'd forget entirely what her given name really was....unlikely, but it was okay to dream, wasn't it?
While she wasn't initially happy about having to move out to this tiny city of Pilot Ridge to be closer with her sisters, Noelle was actually quite excited about living out of her parent's home for the first time, together with roommates. It was a new experience that she was well looking forward to.
The both of them were coming by today so they could all get acquainted with one another before they actually started living with each other. She hoped to make a good impression. Noelle was wiping down the table and rushing around taking care of miscellaneous last minute things when a knock came at the door. She smiled, running a hand through her recently trimmed short hair and nestled her other hand on her hip. “Whew….okay, here goes nothing!” she said with a nervous breath. Noelle pat her hands clean on her leggings, then quickly walked to the door, opening it warily with a meek peek through the crack and a welcoming smile on her lip. “Hi! You’re here, awesome!” The slim brunette pulled the door open further and stood against it with one hand gripped on the edge and the other gripping nervously on the hem of her white t-shrt. “Thank so much for coming! I’m, uh….” Noa looked back towards the living area, noticing a few things she’d forgotten to put away. “Don’t mind the mess, please. Um...come in!”
