The BasicsName: Nicholas Fletcher Bennet
Nicknames: None
Age: 23 (DoB - 22-5-1993)
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Works at a small Game Store, the kind selling board games/Trading Card games/Tabletop RPG's and Tabletop Wargames.
Powers: Telekinesis: he is capable of lifting objects that weigh around 50 kilograms with his telekinesis but has problems with lifting things above that weight. He is also capable of launching objects with his telekinetic abilities and pulling objects, or people, towards or away from things. He's quite adapt at using these abilities, but any other kind of application of his telekinesis is something he is still struggling with.
He also has some problems with using it on people, because he's nervous about accidentally hurting someone with it. Also, they tend to be heavier then 50 kilo's so at best, his telekinesis is more of a strong pulling/pushing sensation than a "You're being lifted up and carried along." sensation. He is trying to remedy that by practicing to lift heavier objects with his mind each day.
Play By: Zac TaylorThe DetailsHair Color: Dark Brown, looks almost black.
Eye Color: Grey-Blue
Any Piercings?: None.
Any Tattoos?: A small tattoo on his upper right arm.
Any Scars?: Small scars on his hands from cooking accidents, but nothing else.
General Appearance:
Standing at around 1.95m Nicholas quite a tall man, usually having his hair fairly cut short, unless it's Winter then it is more like in the picture, while having some form of light beard. Generally his face has signs of someone who barely gets any sleep, this is mostly because of the fact that he barely sleeps. He has a slightly muscular build due to him sporting quite a bit whenever he has the chance, plus whenever he lifts weights with his mind he also lifts them with his body, trying to strengthen the both of them.
While on the Job he tends to wear more distinguished clothing, preferring to wear a black long-sleeved shirt, usually with some form of jeans and sturdy-ish boots that help him with the whole "Standing/sitting behind a counter all day", usually he does wear some form of jacket over the shirt.
Off the job, he looks completely different. Preferring to wear comfortable hoodies, sneakers and some sort of sweatpants whenever he can get away with it, which is most of the time really.
Personality:
Nicholas been called as blunt as a sledgehammer and takes some slight pride in this. While normally speaking he's fairly laid back and quite calm, preferring to take things slow and steady so that he has more time to think about what to do next... though this doesn't show in his social skills. As mentioned at the beginning, he's as blunt as can be with his words, he doesn't like to sugarcoat things and prefers to say things how they are instead of thinking his words through wisely to perhaps not hurt someone. Due to him taking things slower then anyone else he sometimes spots changes in smaller details quicker. He also isn't a morning person, being fairly sluggish in the morning, barely able to vocalize a simple "hello" or "Goodmorning" when he sees you.
This however changes when he gets angry, which happens fast seeing as he has quite a hair trigger temper. Always the one the throw the first punch in a fight this has gotten him in trouble over the years, resulting in the reason why he moved out to Pilot Ridge. He has begun to try an work on his temper, this has shown quite some mixed results... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but hey! It still beats how he used to have it.
Outside of his work he does have a couple of hobbies, reading books and playing various tabletop strategy games. They usually tie into him having to play a couple of boardgames to know a bit about them plus having to keep up with a particular Tabletop Wargame. Not that he minds it, it just sometimes eats a hole in his free time and wallet.Your VicesLikes:
- His work: it tends to be calm and slow. He makes enough money from it while most of it is from stuff he tends to enjoy.
- Coffee/Energy drinks: due to the fact he always has slept terribly, he makes up for it by drinking quite a lot of caffeinated drinks. This has ended up making him slightly addicted to the stuff, making him fairly short tempered in the morning.
- Games, whether they be Tabletop or Video: This is fairly easily explained, his job already involves playing the Tabletop ones a lot, and the Video Games is just something he does to pass the time, he prefers turn-based-strategy games over most other games, but he does have a great weak spot for some shooters. His most preferred Wargame currently is Warhammer 40k, though he is slightly bored because there aren't that many people he can play it with.
- Books: Most of the time, the cooler lore for those Tabletop Wargames are hidden in books or somewhere in the rulebooks. Over the years he thus has gained some like for reading books about the settings he currently is interested in.
- Hiking through the woods: Though not much, it is mostly because they tend to be nice and quiet and he does like that quite a lot.
- Music: Just, most music in general. Though he has his preferences and his dislikes, he can see the reasons why someone would like a specific kind of music.
Dislikes:
- Any army with completely broken rulesets: Do I need to really explain why he dislikes enemies using Armies that are just OP?
- Carnivals: Too much noise, too many people. He isn't a complete introvert but he will pass on such things.
- Parties: See Carnivals, he'll go to them but he'll tire quickly from them and leave after an hour.
Strengths:
- Noticing small details: As mentioned before it is mostly because he takes as much time as he can on most things, thus giving him more time to notice small details someone else would probably overlook.
- Painting: Though it is not a dislike, but he doesn't like it as well. All the miniatures in a wargame should be painted and he is quite good at it. He's certainly not a prizewinner but it doesn't look awful. This is mostly because he uses his telekinesis to steady his hand for extra accurate strokes.
- Fairly strong: Again, because he shares the weight between himself and his telekinetic powers he is capable of lifting a bit more then a normal person. This use of his powers also is a form of training of his powers, but more in a "Oh now I might be able to lift more with it" then in an actual skill way.
Weaknesses:
- Extremely Blunt: Though it can be strength as well, it has mostly gotten him in trouble. Saying that someone's idea is "The single dumbest thing I've heard in my entire goddamn life" can annoy someone quite a lot, but he won't stop just there. He'll follow it up with various other insults on how stupid he thinks the plan and you are. This, obviously... can lead to a lot of problems.
- Short Tempered: Same as above, this can just lead him to more trouble as he's quicker to throw the first punch and make a bad situation worse. His temper becomes even worse when he has just woken up.
- Takes his time: It might be a great thing to have or do. But sometimes taking a long time on somethings isn't that advised and can cause quite a lot of problems.
Fears:
- Snakes, spiders and general basic fears: Though not completely paralyzed with fear, he does not want anything to do with them. He'll quickly try to get away from the Animals.
Secret: He's secretly dead, no... seriously. Officially he's seen as dead back in England. He immigrated to America and most of the papers on his sold car hadn't gone through yet, so when the thing crashed and the new owner died as he got burned to an unrecognizable state, everyone thought it was Nicholas who died. Luckily, by then, he already was on his way to becoming an American Citizen. He's been counted as dead back home for roughly a year now.Family TiesFather: Zachary Bennet (Age: 56)
Mother: Nora Smith-Bennet (Age: 54)
Siblings: Emily Bennet (Age: 17, also a Meta-Human)
Any Other Important People: Nope, got nothingHistoryBorn and raised in London, Nicholas had a comfortable childhood. His family was rather well off seeing as his father was a lawyer and his mother was a teacher at an Elementary School, together they brought in enough money for them and the kids to lead a good life. Things were quite normal for him, he was never the kid did that anything out of the ordinary and barely made any waves. Though his Father didn't have much time for him, his Mom made up for it as much as she could. He went to the same school as she taught in, obviously he didn't go to the same class as his Mother. The School had rules for such a thing, which were obviously put in place as to try to eliminate any kids getting favorable treatment over other kids, just because they were related to the teacher.
He got by in class, he wasn't a straight A student nor did he get bad grades. He excelled in some classes and got slightly bad grades in others, but that is normal. Then High School happened.
High School caused several problems for Nicholas, mostly bully related... this caused his Temper to flare up quite a lot. Throughout Elementary School he was left alone for the most part, but now he was a target. Of course, always the one with a temper, he fought back. His Parents had to come to school quite some times to talk to the teachers about this... he never really got in trouble for it either, the Teachers knowing that it was all in self-defense they couldn't really punish him for that. They kept an eye on him though, making sure it wouldn't end up with him punching someone first. Some even began treating him slightly worse then other kids, for they began to get tired of the fact that nothing really changed. They didn't treat him terribly, but sometimes he would get notes later or just get his questions ignored. This caused his temper to flare up sometimes which just caused things to get worse sometimes.
This was pretty much littered throughout High School and it barely ever changed, until one day when he was 13. Bullies did their thing, Nicholas lost his temper and his telekinetic powers flared up. A simple punch to one of the bullies face turned into something straight out of a super hero movie. The kid was flung backwards by a delayed telekinetic push that caught him off guard, literally launching him 2 meters away and against a wall.
This incident made the rounds in the local Newspaper and shortly after that, his parents were contacted by Kocher. Not knowing how to deal with a Meta-Human child they sent him away... this sort of came as a shock to him and he saw this as a sort of betrayal by his parents, he was being sent away to a whole new country while being left with innumerable questions about what was going on with him.
And thus, he was sent to an entirely different country, to a place where he doesn't speak the language or knows anyone. This, obviously, caused a bit of problems with his temper. He felt like he was betrayed in his time of need by the people he trusted the most, for the first few weeks in Kocher he was a more withdrawn kid... He thought about what happened, seeing this as his parents just wanting him gone so that they could focus on his younger sister, who didn't cause any trouble at all. After a week he slowly began to integrate in the school, but this feeling of betrayal left its mark: His temper was worse then before and he had a slight hatred for the Teachers at the school, whom he blamed for keeping him there.
His grades became lower, some classes he outright failed... but in the classes where he was taught how to handle his powers he made some strides. Teachers did warn him repeatedly not to be destructive with his powers, using them to throw balls at kids was fine... but using them to pelt them with balls during PE wasn't fine at all.
His temper sometimes got him in trouble with other kids and this tended to escalate quite a lot, where before he would have just had bruises on his arms from fights, now sometimes he ended up bloodied knuckles or a black eye. Teachers scheduled regularly appointed sessions with a Therapist which... sort of helped, he got over his hatred for the teachers and felt less betrayed by his parents (Thus eliminating most of his anger issues there), but trying to solve his temper was harder then just making him not angry at everyone, the solution they saw was simple: just give him tips to try to keep it under control.
It sort of helped, it made it so he wasn't just a step away from punching someone in the face all the time and his grades actually began to rise again.
He graduated from the school at 17 and moved back to England but not back to his parents, for he still wasn't completely over his perceived betrayal, he stayed with his Aunt and Uncle until he found a job and had enough money to find a place for his own.
After that... nothing really important happened, he reunited with his old circle of friends and worked as a bartender for a couple of years while training his powers in his free time. Family relations with him were muddled, with him being regarded as the black sheep of the family for not going to any college, not that it really mattered to him, but after enough annoyed talks with his parents when he was 19 he took some quick online college that made him the proud owner of a business degree.
Jump ahead to when he was 21 then. He still worked in the bar he's always worked in, ties with his family can still be called "Sorta Terrible" but it has been on the up and up and he has decided to take a chance to get away from it all, his parents and him still clashed regularly even though he didn't live with them anymore.
So, he decided to move away as far as possible from them, he was going to immigrate to America. Wouldn't be that hard right?
It took him around a year to get everything set up right while telling no one about his plans, plus the money to stay somewhere until he had found a job and a place to stay. Honestly, everything went swimmingly. He sold his car a few days before he left on the plane, all the paperwork was done on his side and the man who bought it only had to fill in his stuff but that was it.
Except, that wasn't how it went. Apparently, a few days after he arrived in America the car crashed headfirst into a wall and caught on fire, body was too badly burned to even run simple tests on to figure out who he was... but the person who owned the Car on paper was still Nicholas. Family held a closed casket funeral that even his Sister apparently was around for.
Meanwhile, Nicholas was nothing the wiser about what happened. He only read about it on the internet, looking at the news on the internet and learning that he died. This took him aback for a moment, his family thought he was dead... It knocked the wind out of him, he must've stared at the news on his laptop for what felt like hours. He had gained a second chance and that was more then what he deserved.
After that, his life began to calm down a little bit. He traveled to Pilot Ridge, a small town he had heard about but he couldn't remember where he heard it, and took up residence in a small apartment in which he lives to this day. He got a job at a local game store which sold various board games and such, he had played Tabletop games in his youth and decided that it would probably be worth something in this job. He applied, got the job and has worked there since.
Completely oblivious to the fact that there is another school for Meta-Humans just around the corner.Roleplay ExampleAden sighed. Drumming his fingers on his lap as Anayo yelled at him. He just turned his mind off at these moments since they happened all the time. They always followed the same couple of lines Anayo would rattle off each time and thus his time was better spent at other things.
True, she always had her points in her outbursts of anger, which were for good reasons. But he had his own reasons of doing them, he had it all planned out and wasn't going to drop it completely. Just small bits that weren't necessarily needed, that's all.
Killing her potential boyfriends was never really something he planned for. It just came automatically when he first did it, a sort of panic response that just stuck by him through thick and thin. It always worked and was usually for the better of Anayo.
That reminded him, he opened up his Omni-Tool and checked his messages. Yep, they'd be stuck on Illium for a while. Not that the Cops were looking for them, oh no. That was dealt with already. Illium Cops won't touch you if you're under the employ of certain people, and he was pretty sure the little fucker had a bounty on his head anyway. So they'd be safe.
He waited for a minute, seeing Anayo storm off in the corner of his eyes. She'd be back, she'd always be back... If not, he'd track her down and pull her back kicking and screaming like he always did. He promised Dad he'd take good care of her and he wasn't going to fail in that.
Aden opened the small glovebox where he sat and took out a small package of cigarettes. He grabbed the package and looked at it, Salarian brand... egh. Alright.
Cigarettes were the only thing he sort of tolerated from Humans, anything else from them could be burned for all he cared. Might make him a slight hypocrite but that was the least of his current worries. He shifted over to the drivers seat of the Skycar and pressed the ignition. Taking the wheel as he took out a smoke from the packages and lit it up with his Omni-Tool, briefly letting go of the wheel, he inhaled the nicotine and blew the smoke out of his nose... a small chuckle came from his lips, Dad taught him that trick...
He took off, the Skycar flying up as he flew into the skyline. Not that he had much to do anyways, he was going to the ship. Nothing better to do then just wait for Anayo. Unlike her, he wasn't the social butterfly he was the guy who kept things running as efficiently as possible and then try to perfect it. He wasn't going to settle for anything less then that... true, his disinterest in women was sometimes the butt of a couple of jokes from Anayo. But he shrugged them off easily. He'd find someone after his job was done. Or not, who knows. What About You?Name: Drag00nknightnl, just call me Drag0 for short.
