General Appearance:
Adam is a good looking older man, well not too old he's only 38. He still has that impish glint in his eye and thatsmirk that lets you know he is up to something. His hair is brown and not all that remarkable, but his eyes are a startling shade of blue. His eyes stand out from the crowd, and adds to his boyish charm. Adam's life style is one that requires him to be perfectly healthy and in top physical form at all times. Though at the same time he is not extremely buff, toned, but not buff. Adam is a tall man standing at 6'2".
Over the years he has tried countless ways to overcome the odor associated with his power, but to no avail. He simply lives with it and hopes he doesn't offend people with his odor.
Adam likes to dress casual, jeans and a t-shirt are his normal choices, although he has found for work he needs to dress more professionally. Often times it means wearing suits and ties. He finds people respect him more as a counselor when dressed in professional clothes.
Personality:
Adam is in his heart of hearts a joker. As a teenager the song lyric "I'm a joker, smoker, midnight toker" described him perfectly. As an adult he has given up the smoking, and only very occasionally indulges in the herb. Adam lives his life in a manner geared towards the happiness of both his and other's. His two favorite quotes come from Helen Keller: "No one has a right to consume happiness without producing it." And "True happiness is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose." These two quotes sum up his approach to life. It is why he became a counselor at the Hammel Institute. He wanted to help others find that happiness in their own lives.
Adam is a thrill seeker, an adrenalin junky if you will. He went on his fist skydiving trip at the age of 18 and twenty years later he has gone on nearly one hundred jumps 20 of those being night jumps. He plans to soon try his hand at base jumping. He has broken 7 different bones in his body, and more twisted ankles sprained wrists and pulled muscles then you could count.
Adam is also extremely loving and loyal. The most important person in the world to him is his sister Evelyn. He would do absolutely anything for her, he has never been able to tell her no, and he never wants to. His family, whether they are related to him by blood or bond, comes first in his life. The students at Hammel fall into this category there is very little he wouldn't do to help them. He sees students every day that need his help. Whether they can't seem to accept the changes in their lives and bodies, or are just plain having a hard time with life. He is there to listen, advise, and sometimes he is just a shoulder to cry on.
Adam takes the use of his power extremely seriously, he knows what kinds of things he is capable of when messing with a person's emotion specifically their sexual desires. He therefore rarely uses his power. Preferring instead to see a person's real emotion not the ones he gives them.

-The odor caused by Adam's power marks him, if people recognize the odor it can place Adam in very dangerous situations. People don't seem to like the idea of their emotions being toyed with, and others like the idea of toying with others a little too much.

History
Adam has had what he would call a normal life. He has never thought of it as anything out of the ordinary, but to others it would be seen as a little different. He was born on February 10, 1972. His birth mother was only 15 yearsold and could not raise him herself. He was adopted by Jim and Goldine Collier at 2 months old. For the next three years he lived the spoiled life of an only child. Then his parents brought home a brand new baby sister for Adam to play with, Evelyn. Evelyn was a small baby that had been diagnosed with down syndrome. Her birth mother could not handle raising such a child and put her up for adoption. Adam fell in love with his baby sister, his angel as he called her. Throughout their childhood Adam looked out for and protected Evelyn he made it his mission to make sure she was happy and safe. They played together and learned together the two were hardly ever seen apart. When Evelyn began home school, Adam insisted on leaving school and being home schooled as well. So from second grade till he entered Hammel Adam stayed at home with his mother and little sister.
Adam's power is a different sort of power, the effects can be hard to see if you are not looking for it. Adam never thought anything was wrong or weird. That was until one day when hanging out at the mall Adam began to notice women of all ages staring at him, some were even following him! The same thing happened almost every time he went out in public. This was not normal and Adam knew it. He turned to the one person he thought would be able to explain these weird creatures called women, his mother. Goldine had no idea what to tell her son. The only idea she had was to talk to a friend of hers that had once attended a school for different children.
Her friend came and spoke with Adam, explaining that what was happening to him was in fact not normal for most teens. However that did not mean he was weird and that it was by no means a bad thing. She told him all about a school that could help him learn how to control what was going on with his body. He would live with other teenagers that were like him. This idea thrilled Adam, but the thought of leaving his family scared him. After thinking it over for a few days, and talking about it with his family, they all agreed attending Hammel would be the best thing for Adam.
At the age of 13 Adam moved to the mountains of Vermont to live and attend the Hammel Institute. There he lived and thrived for the next five and a half years. When time came to attend school Adam did not want to burden his family with the costs of school and instead attended a small community college before attending University. He graduated with a degree in social work and became a licensed social worker, specializing in counseling children and teenagers. He bounced around from job to job for many years, till he heard about a job opening at his alma mater. He jumped at the chance to apply and at the age or 31 he began work at Hammel.ough
Though he no longer lives with his family they are still very close, he talks on the phone every day to his sister and nearly as often with his parents. Adam is still unmarried, he has found his power causes many problems when in a relationship with another person, be that person male or female.
Roleplay Example
Adam took a deep breath he needed to calm his heart down, if he didn't get the rate down it would screw up his jump. The adrenalin needed to be flowing but he needed to be able to focus. He was jumping at night this time and Evelyn was down there watching him. Nothing could go wrong today, he would never forgive himself if Evelyn saw him get hurt. He checked his altimeter to make sure everything was working, it was running perfectly. He had already checked his pack 3 times and was getting funny looks from the rest of the jumpers.
The jump master signaled that they had reached their jump elevation. Everyone stood and began making the final preparations for the jump. Adam was the second person in line to go. He began to almost vibrate. He looked around and saw more funny looks from those around him. Adam blushed he had lost control for a second there, he reigned in his power and focused even more. THe first jump made there way to the door, seconds later they were free falling into the night sky. Adam was up next. HE took a deep breath and with a huge grin on his face made his way to the door.
"On a count of three fall back and let the wind carry you! One! Two! Three!"
Adam leaned back and called out to the jumpers "See ya down there!" with that he fell. It took him only about a second to move his body into a comfortable position. The rush as amazing the whooshing past him at nearly 120 mph. He glanced at his altimeter it was time to deploy his shoot. with a tug of the cord the shoot launched out of hi pack and Adam slowed down. Soon he was entering the Dark Zone where he couldn't see the ground, this was the most dangerous part of the jump, but also the most fun. He had never crashed during a night jump and he wasn't about to let this be the first time.
As he reached the ground he smiled the landing would be textbook. And it was. He landed with the biggest grin on his face he could hear Evelyn cheering from close by. After releasing his shoot from his pack he walked over to her and gave her a huge hug lifting her off the ground.
"See, Angel I told you I would be just fine!"
