General Appearance:
Jacquelyn – known better as Jackie – is a tall woman, standing at around 5’11’’. She prefers the ‘lux’ fashion design almost exclusively comprised of clothing that fits snugly around her attractive waistline, dark in color to bring out the bronze color of her skin. Large earrings (more often than not) dangle from her ears, as well as large bangles about her neck and heavy bracelets either on her wrists or her ankles. Not usually one to be outshone in terms of beauty, Jackie spends an exorbitant amount of time looking after her appearance. One would be lying to say that it didn’t pay off.
Underneath all those clothes and make-up, however, is a woman of natural beauty. Her face and eyes are sharply angled to give her an intelligent, ‘vixen’ look – natural chestnut brown in color, they have a quality that can pierce the mind. Her cheekbones are steep as well, her chin tapering to a point. Jackie’s whole facial appearance, as a whole, has a sort of ‘sharp’ theme to it, with all the beauty of a cold steel knife.
Though Jackie dyes her hair blonde at times and her skin is a rich dark color, giving a shallow impression of warmth, her posture and glint in her eyes conveys to others that she is not very interested in small talk. Her default pose carries a lot of attitude, and she has a sharp tongue to match. Her head is always held high, and her height ensures that she’s able to look down on most. For the rest, there is something in her eyes, expression that can make even the tallest person shrink down to her size. (Although the high heels probably help with that.)
Personality:
Jackie is one of those sorts who are all about smarts and cunning, but unfortunately put said amazing faculties to use in bitter and sarcastic comments aimed specifically to most injure others around her. She is not completely sadistic – indeed, one could find gems of good nature buried deep in her personality – but if she is not sadistic than she at least partakes in schadenfreude. Nothing pleases her more to know that any competition has been thwarted, or some soul who had injured her in the past has met with great misfortune. She cares not for helping others unless it fits well within her schedule or if it happens to benefit her. Neither tears nor begging do anything to move her. If she finds one in such a state, she readily puts them at fault for not being strong enough.
That being said, Jackie is a firm misanthrope. She distrusts everyone and anything almost instantly. She believes, like herself, that people are only out for themselves and often goes on long tirades about the decadence of all sentient beings.
Her tongue is most bitter, but is somehow elegant in speech. Her great skill at speech-making is one of her most valued talents.If it came into her head she could charm the most disgruntled of men into parting with all their valuables. Jackie is not above cheating the poor any more than she would balk at cheating the rich, the young, the old or otherwise.
For all that, though, Jackie is grudgingly loyal once she has found someone she is partial to, and many suspect that underneath lies a person who, if it really came down to it, would do all they can to ensure a better future for all.

Jackie’s parents are too old now to bother her, and live in some remote plot in Vermont. They are just as greedy and bad-tempered as she is. She hardly visits or interacts with them at all.
As the oldest of her siblings (only two, including her) Jackie found ample opportunity to throw her weight around. She was always the bossy one, which unfortunately pushed her younger brother into social anxiety; they grew up in relative proximity with each other and, by the time they moved out, might have formed a faint bond but it was inconsequential at best. As a forthright and bold person Jackie found her own social clique within some more unsavory types, but at least she was never alone, bullied or otherwise unpopular. No, Jackie was perfectly happy in regards to society.
Jackie first discovered her powers at age thirteen. She was an actor, involved in the local drama club. At first she attributed the hallucinations everyone seemed to be having to her stirring performances, but soon realized there was something else going on. Since she could not see these illusions for herself, she was thoroughly confused for a few weeks or so until she was discovered by Hammel. Even then she had not quite figured out what was wrong with her other than she was what they called a 'meta-human'.
Her time in Hammel was fairly routine. She got in trouble for her attitude at times, but other than that she was a fairly good kid. She learned to control her powers for the time being, though she often wondered what they looked like in other people's eyes. It remains one of her fondest wishes to see these illusions for herself, though apparently they can be of a nightmarish variety if the words are said wrong or done with the wrong inflection. Nonetheless she is almost envious when she sees her own powers at work.
Jackie graduated and left; her main goal had been the showbiz, but she soon realized that this was impossible thanks to her voice. Afterwards she fell into hard times; she struggled with a low-paying job and lived in a small, dingy apartment. Whatever offers she got for 'dating' was abruptly turned down and, since she was disdainful of her family and they of her once they found she was a so-called 'mutant', she found herself on her own except for a few close friends. Ultimately she picked up art, and managed to sell a few of her pieces. She became somewhat well-known, and even landed her own show for about a year and a half due to a sound-piece she made entitled "Rook's Landing". It exhibited at the half-line in New York.
Though this gained her some fame and a decent amount of money, she realized it would not last forever. She needed a steady source of income.
In any case she returned to Hammel, unmarried and unfulfilled, to become a teacher.
