matt's a student at hammel, seventeen years old. although he isn't quite up to where he should be far as training is concerned, as he is incredibly afraid of the dark and his power is umbrakinesis. doesn't even want to try controlling it. and considering he has been attending the institution for four years, he should have progressed further. honestly, he's a bit slow in the head with academics too. he doesn't fail classes, but he'll never be top of his class, can tell you that much. he's more of the 'brawn over brain' type. not any type of hermit and rather sociable, it's highly likely for matthew to have some friends. although he is a shameless flirt, and he's prone to acting a bit friendly towards either gender. so if your character can put up with some harmless flirting and him wanting to be the center of attention, then they can totally be friends.

let's face it, not everyone can get along. but that's certainly not a bad thing, oh no. conflict is good for you, kiddies. so if you're interested in having your character dislike matt for whatever reason, it could be interesting. oh, and friendly rivalry or frenemies, anyone?

as i stated previously, he's a huge flirt. now, whether that can actually amount to anything or not pretty much depends on how far the other character wants to take things. because honestly, matthew's kind of a whore. it would be highly unlikely for him to keep a steady relationship, he'd be prone to cheating on whoever he was with... although that would certainly be interesting, let me know if you'd be interested in that sort of plot. yay for love triangles?

Hi Rainbow! xD I officially love your character *hugs him* and I have potentially three characters he could thread with.

The hardest one: Cobalt. I mean, he's got shadow manipulation (which is similar) and could potentially help him out with all that whatnot, but... well, he can't stand Hammel, soo it might be harder for them to meet up. But he is a local, and is always willing to help kids out, so it's not completely impossible.

Next: Estelle. She'd really like a big brother maybe? Also, she's extremely easygoing and friendly and would love to meet new people. Also, even though she's not looking for anything more than friends, she could handle his flirting with good humor.

And finally: Jean. He'd just think Matt was the coolest thing under the sun. If Matt is in the mood for an over-excited twelve year old following him around and yelling, Jean is your guy. XD

Welcome to Hammel, Rainbow!

I'm Kiki and I have two ladies up for your consideration.

First off I have Ingrid, a slightly insane Biology teacher who has been at Hammel for decades. She's a bit really harsh, opinionated, nosy, loud, and a lot of other equally nasty things. But she'd also very motherly, intelligent, and loves her students like the were her own flesh and blood. Ingrid's used to talking her students through rough patches in their lives and often brings her 'work' home. If Matt ever needed some mothering, and if he can get past her brashness, Ingrid's door is always open.

Next I have Emma, a student at Hammel. She'd never turn down a chance for new friends, but tends to be on the more reserved side. She has a complex about be needed and giving people what they want (within reason), so if Matt wanted to be the center of attention, Emma would give him all the attention he wanted. However, flirting isn't something she's that good with. Emma doesn't think to highly of herself, and would probably be convinced Matt was making fun of her.

Ann Hudgins (student, empath, 18) and Mathew are polar opposites. He likes flirting and attention. Ann hates attention and doesn't really even know how to flirt. Up until recently, no one has even tried to 'pursue' her, but that is a story for another time. I'd totally love it if the two of them ended up being friends because of the fact they are so different. ^_^

Umbrakinetics for the win! I honestly don't expect Matt and Shade to get along, but they could be some fun. She wouldn't abhor him, but she'd probably mock him for his fear in response to any overconfident or flirty comment he might make. She has no fear of the dark, so maybe she could help him with his issues? In a very forceful, doubtlessly upsetting way. Either way, I could see them pursuing a very awkward, casual romance between any other tangles they might have. Not really friends, but stuck with each other? We could always just throw them together and see how it goes. I don't know. XD
