General Appearance: Vicky is a healthy looking young lady, standing at about 5’7” and weighing around 132 pounds. She has a fairly curvy body that tends to annoy her at times, as she doesn’t enjoy being looked at like a piece of meat for sale.
Her natural hair color is a very dark brown, though she does occasionally dye it into other colors. It’s fairly long and wavy, reaching down just slightly past her shoulder blades. Her eyes are a grayish blue, and in the right – or wrong – light, they may seem almost greenish in color.
Her clothing choice varies heavily upon her daily activities, and when asked about her style, Vicky usually laughs and says she doesn’t discriminate and loves all styles equally. Her wardrobe almost looks like that of a Barbie doll, with both dark fabrics as well as girlish pinks, simple pants, as well as fashionable skirts.
Make-up wise, she’s the same. If at all possible, she’ll read up on the person she’ll be dealing with and can be seen both with a fully painted face, or a completely natural one.
If it’s completely up to her, she usually wears little make-up (Just some eyeliner, mascara and lip-gloss) and fairly down-to-earth clothes with neutral colors.
Personality: Vicky is an extremely motivated and ambitious girl, with a constant hunger for adventure and broadening her horizons. When she’s not busy updating her own personal website, she’s helping out at the library or looking for news and stories she can report about.
She can only be described as a busy-bee, as that’s exactly what she is. Work, school, she may not love it all equally, but she puts a serious effort in to come out on top.
She’s very competitive, and can get quite sulky when she’s not the best in a group, though she never goes as far as to insult or bully the person better than her. Instead, she works even harder for next time, so that she may win then and make up for her failure.
She has a bit of a nasty habit of only half listening to other people, and instead letting her mind wander to her agenda and her appointments for that day. With people close to her, she’ll likely give her full attention, but if she doesn’t know someone too well, she really needs to be specifically told to listen to their story, or you can expect her to zone out after a while.
Vicky is quite the opposite from those ‘shy until you know me’ girls, in fact, she’s far more quiet and serious around the people she truly considers her friends, which aren’t that many people. Actually, she only has one person she truly considers her friend, and that is her longtime friend Lisa. Lisa is the only person Vicky is completely, 100% honest with, and who she’ll confide in with her deepest, darkest secrets. She’s also very open with some of her favorite family members, such as her grandparents, parents, and her uncle Denny, though she does try to keep up a brave front with them most of the time, something she doesn’t do with Lisa.
As she is an only child, and was the first grandchild on both sides of the family, she feels she needs to truly be successful in life so as not to disappoint anyone. Her relatives rarely push her into doing things, and some even urge her to slow down every once in a while, but Vicky can’t help herself. She wants her family to be proud of her, to be able to brag about her to their friends, and so she often goes overboard, busying herself with far too many things at once and even wearing herself out because of it.
Vicky is aware that she’s the one putting such a large amount of pressure upon herself, but has gotten so stuck in her busy lifestyle that she couldn’t slow down even if she wanted to. Or so she thinks. She never actually tried to slow herself down.
Vicky is an extremely organized girl who always has her agenda with her and even has it noted down where she’ll be during the day at which hour. You wouldn’t tell by looking at her room though. Hardworking though she might be, not even Vicky likes cleaning her room, and besides, she knows where everything is, so why change anything?

History
Sixteen years ago, both the Barnes family as well as the Dunne family were pleasantly surprised by the news of Lucy Dunne’s pregnancy. No one in the family had gotten a (grand)child yet, and so when nine months passed and Victoria was born, things were bound to go wrong.
Baby talk, coddling, smothering mothering and extreme spoiling made up the first years of Vicky’s life. Because of all the constant attention, Vicky learned how to walk and talk quite early on, greatly enjoying all the love and attention it brought her. Wasn’t it all precious and wonderful? Vicky had almost everyone wrapped around her little finger by each three, with no desire to ever let them go. Oh no, they were hers, and she wasn’t sharing. She grew up to be a little spoiled princess who would either got things her way right away, or would cry and whine until she got it, and her parents quickly regretted all the fawning over her they’d done. Of course, by then it was already too late.
Shortly after Vicky’s sixth birthday, her life was suddenly flipped around, and she disappeared out of the spotlights when her cousins Jessica and Daniel were born. Twins. Everyone liked twins, and Vicky’s family wasn’t much different. At first, Vicky wasn’t too eager about the siblings, but almost immediately warmed up to them during a family visit to the US. Having had no siblings of her own, Vicky quickly assumed the role of a big sister, and was quite possibly more taken with the twins than anyone else.
She and her parents stayed in the US for a few weeks before returning to their home in London, but Vicky wasn’t so eager to leave just yet, even if the family did visit the states on a regular basis. After much complaining and many tears, she finally agreed to go back home, but insisted on spending the summer holidays with her family in America, while her winter holidays were spent in Ireland, with her other side of the family. The little girl saw much travelling between the age of six and eleven.
Somewhere during her first years of school, Vicky met a little girl named Lisa, who seemed very shy and in no way equipped to deal with the strong-minded girl. Strangely enough though, Vicky actually ended up following Lisa around like a puppy rather than the other way around. The girls would spend entire days with one another, and almost seemed to be joined at the hip the way they finished each other’s sentences and knowing exactly how the other felt without even asking. Lisa was an only child as well, and the two quickly became like sisters to one another. Up to this day, Vicky still sees Lisa as her closest and dearest friend, and takes every opportunity to talk to her, even if they’re an ocean apart.
When Vicky turned twelve, her careless life took another blow. During a sleep-over, one of Vicky classmates made fun of her because of her pajama’s, and all the other girls laughed right in her face. Though their intent was most likely not malicious, Vicky felt extremely embarrassed. Nothing could prepare her for what happened next though, because as she lowered her head, she suddenly noticed the ground coming dangerously close. So close in fact, that she believed for a moment that she’d fallen down. Vicky had shrunk to be little over five inches tall. Chaos ensued, and Vicky almost got trampled by a hoard of panicking pre-teens while simultaneously screaming her tiny little head off in fear.
Her parents came in to see what was going on, and at first didn’t even notice their only child. When they finally did, Vicky’s father stayed surprisingly calm, considering the situation.
Whilst Samuel was on the phone with his mother Ingrid – who was also a Meta-Human, to ask her for advise – her mother tried desperately to calm her child and tried to help her grow back to normal. Rather than growing back to her normal size however, Vicky went to the other extreme and almost hit the ceiling this time, having absolutely no control over her powers.
Vicky was probably fortunate to having been born into a family where they knew which steps to take in order to help the girl as best as possible. No recruiter from Hammel ever visited her, for her parents were already busily discussing the situation with grandmother Ingrid, a teacher at Hammel. Before a recruiter from Switzerland could even visit, Vicky was already on an airplane to the US, both her parents and grandparents feeling better about having Vicky attending Hammel, seeing as she had family there.
The first two years at Hammel were awkward and annoying. Vicky missed her parents, and though she felt a bit better about having her grandparents so close by, she also felt a bit awkward about having her grandmother for a teacher. She got teased about being a teacher’s pet for a few months before she’d finally had enough and got into a shoving competition with her bully, a competition she ended up winning. Even though she got in trouble for fighting in school, the ends justified the means. From that point on, it was clear Vicky wasn’t going to let anyone walk all over her, and the bullying almost stopped instantly. She was overjoyed, and it was around that time that Vicky developed her competitive streak, feeling a great sense of pride over having bested someone in front of a crowd.
Like most, Vicky struggled with her powers too, at first. She’d shrink and grow at random the first few months, and even a year later, she’d change size depending on the situation. If she felt embarrassed or scared, she’d shrink a few inches, when she felt happy or proud, she’d gain a few. It wasn’t until halfway through her fifteenth year of life that she learned how to control it to a degree that she kept her ‘normal’ size of 5’7” consistently.
By now, Vicky no longer feels awkward about who and what she is, and has even come to a point where she actually likes her powers, though she doesn’t use them too often because of their annoying side-effects. She has also come to embrace her inner teacher’s pet and spends whatever free moment she can find in her busy schedule with her grandmother, and usually spends her weekends over at her house in Pilot’s Ridge.
