General Appearance: Ariana has a very eclectic style. She is known for taking plain boring attire and accessorizing it to look trendy and unique. However, since she has arrived at Hammel her wardrobe has been considerably subdued. Her hair was once a source of great pride for Ariana and she took great care of her long wavy locks. Lately she is usually seen wearing it straight and in a simple ponytail. Her skin is an ivory tone with a hint of tan to it. Her body is very thin with slight curves and she is of average height, about 5’5”. She is generally a very happy-go-lucky sort of individual known for skipping about and strutting and a large smile that almost always adorns her face. As of late though she tends to hunch when she walks as though trying to hide in plain sight.
Personality: Ariana is an eternal optimist. She is a strong believer that everything will always work out for the best and that it is in the darkest times we learn to shine. She is a relatively outgoing person, a self-declared chatterbox. However, she is also a very private person, keeping her insecurities and personal life primarily to herself and sharing with only select friends. She loves learning, and has been known to be thought of as a ‘know-it-all’ who thinks she is better than everyone, although that couldn’t be further from the truth. In addition, she will not hesitate to defend her friends, although she would seldom do the same for herself. She has a nasty little habit of keeping herself the lowest rank on her priority list.
Since the incident, her personality has shifted. She is still friendly, but is far more quiet and reserved that she used to be. She is also far more sensitive, the slightest things can upset her at times, particularly anything that reminds her of the incident. Her shyness is almost crippling at this point for she often would prefer to be invisible than deal with people. However, she needs social interaction, so she will force herself into social situations. She tries to regain her old confidence on occasion but generally she seems exactly as she is, a broken girl haunted by her past. She has very low self-esteem and will often be the first to insult herself.

History
Ariana was blessed with an idyllic childhood. She had two wonderful parents and as an only child she never wanted for anything. She was generally very happy with her life. She always struggled with making friends because she never quite fit in. She was always eccentric and while she would bend over backwards to please others, she wouldn’t lie or change. That was her only limit. This unfortunately led to a very lonely life. Luckily she was always very artistic and imaginative so she would spend her days escaping into books and creating art.
Then came the day she met Ryan, shortly after she turned fifteen. He seemed to her everything she could have wanted. He was sweet and thoughtful. He noticed her, he wanted to protect her. He was troubled, he needed her to save him. She fell quickly for him as he fell for her. They were together several months and Ariana didn’t know how she could survive without him. It was then that things began to turn for the worse. Ryan began to manipulate Ariana, making her feel more and more insecure and more dependent upon him. He continually pressured her in terms of their physical relationship, but that was the one aspect in which she stood firm. She told him she would not consider such a thing until they had been together at least a year. As their relationship progressed Ariana became a faint shadow of the girl she had been, quiet and submissisive and she thought of herself as worthless. Ryan was very possessive and so she began to drift apart from her friends. He was jealous whenever she spent time with anyone other than him, even her mother. He had to be in constant contact with her and she loved him so she could not see what his ‘love’ was doing to her. She defending him fiercely and thus he became her whole world. On their one year anniversary, Ryan made plans for them. She met him and was shocked to discover that he expected her to have sex with him since it had been a year. She protested, explaining that that she had only been estimating, it had not been a promise. This enraged Ryan. He felt that he was entitled. He tried to convince her that she was obligated, as he had done with so many different things over the year, but he only succeeded in frightening her. Finally he tried to force himself on her. He was far stronger than her, so although she tried to fight him off and begged him to stop he forced her to the ground and began to rip her clothing away. Her cheeks streaked with tears she began to scream. In her desperate need her powers surfaced for the first time, letting loose a scream so shrill and loud that it forced Ryan away from her where he passed out. She called the police, afraid she had killed Ryan. When they arrived she blamed only herself. She later found out that Ryan had suffered permanent ear damage from her scream. A recruiter from Hammel came and explained to her and her family about meta-humans and arrangements were made for her to attend Hammel. She has been at the school for about a month now, although she has stayed primarily in her room, avoiding people because of the raw fear the incident caused. She is slowly beginning to heal though and her family has convinced her to seek help and start actively attending the school.
The attempted rape and emotional abuse proceeding it scarred Ariana heavily. She still blames herself for all of it. She says that while she did not act upon herself, she allowed it to happen which makes it her fault. She also feels extremely guilty for hurting Ryan, despite the fact that is saved her from suffering even more. She fears her powers very much because of the situation in which they first manifested.
