The Basics
Name: Casper Whitacre Cole
Nicknames: Cas (not a nickname sort of guy)
Age: 20 (Birthday; 9/16/90)
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Intern for the Recruitment Office
Powers: Sonic Manipulation (Contortion of sound waves; often afflicted with headaches; easily irritated)
Play By: Han Jaejoon
The Details
Hair Color: A burnished black/brown (gets lighter when exposed to sunlight)
Eye Color: Chocolate brown
Any Piercings? Four; three on right ear, one on left
Any Tattoos? A dal segno behind his left ear (approximately two inches high and one and one half inches wide)
Any Scars? No pertinent scarring
General Appearance: He is 5'10'' and weighs around 160lbs. He has a lithe, lean-muscled physique and lengthy limbs. He has a sharp gaze and a stern set o his face. Despite this, he is by no means is he an intimidating presence; due to piano and guitar, he has something of a natural slump and is almost always looking downwards.
By nature, he is a fidgety, restless person. Most of his shirt sleeves have holes in them where he has absent-mindedly rubbed the fabric away. His hands and wrists bear many rings and bracelets that he plays with or in some cases, makes (string bracelets are a secret hobby of his).
His skin isn't pallid, but is by no means russet. He sits at a happy medium that resembles a fading tan. However, this isn't due to lack of sunlight. He could sit in a tanning bed for three hours and his skin would only imperceptibly darken. To his dismay, he doesn't know or understand why this occurs.
Hair-wise, he has a thick plush of soft black-brown hair. He tends to dawdle in the bathroom, so he makes an effort to make sure his hair is well groomed. As you can see from the pictures above, it is relatively short and easy to care for.
For his style, Cole does seem to indulge. He likes buying any leather or metal bracelets and has a penchant for meaningful graphic tees. To the untrained eye, his mess of clothes would look just so; a mess. But to anyone who witnessed his process in the morning, his fusion of shirts, scarves, jackets and metallic jewelry would seem a masterpiece. He tries to avoid any sleeves that go past his wrists however; he is wont to rub holes in them.
Also, he wears glasses to help with his poor eyesight. Usually, he wears a pair of black, thick-rimmed glasses.
Personality: If you couldn't tell from his appearance paragraphs, Cole is an unnecessarily restless young man. He deals with his fidgety nature by often rubbing his fingers together (it looks like he's snapping, but with little to no sound). He also has a tendency to rub his hands together or to rub fabric together (inevitably creating holes). It also isn't unusual for one to spy him pacing.
In spite of his restless physicality, he has a calm and orderly mental process. He enjoys a routine and is a firm believer in logic. One of the few ways he expresses creativity is through his clothing choices and music. Regardless he deems the latter still has much to do with logic, as it involves keeping a steady beat, reading notes and concentration.
Though one of his main interests and talents is music, he holds little ardency for his ability to control sound waves. He hated that his ability made him an outcast and though he knows that powers don't begin to appear until puberty, he always had the notion his talent was what made him a good musician, rather than his own ability. He still plays classical guitar and piano in the institute, but almost never voluntarily (that is, he'll play only if asked).
Leaving his OCD and cynical nature aside, Cole is actually a very kind man. He makes an effort not to judge people based on their background and almost always gives a person the benefit of the doubt. He is generous and believes that if he can help a problem, then there is no choice but for him to dive forth and assist.
While he is straightforward by nature, he is also quiet. He can tend to be clumsy with words in spite of his best efforts to help and he knows this. His solution? Observe. He tends to prefer to stand on the outside and look in. While he in no way feels incapable in a basic social atmosphere, he struggles to help people in a most intimate nature, such as when they are dealing with loss or anger. He wishes he could, but accepts that he can't just manipulate feelings like soundwaves. Due to this, he also holds high respect for empaths and those who can heal.
A hateful person would look at Casper and ignore his determined disposition and see only a cynical boy from wealth and fortune. Casper fights his upbringing relentlessly. He desperately wishes to show that he can be normal (a goal he continuously strives toward). He throws himself headlong in to just about everything he does and is consequentially stubborn about giving up or losing. He is a poor loser in the sense that he can only accept victory. If he fails, it's not because his opposer was simply better, but because Cole was better and did not try hard enough. He is hard on himself and blames nearly every bad things that happens near him on himself.
Emotions is one subject he feels very uncomfortable dealing with. He's gone through many phases himself and is not lacking emotional depth, but when he sees others struggling, he simply doesn't know what to do. He always makes an effort to solve a situation, because in his mind, solving a problem fixes it (there's that logic again). He doesn't comprehend that sometimes, all a person needs is a shoulder to cry on. Thus, whenever placed in a situation as such, he tends to run away from it, or, even worse, ignore it (he has no problem helping a person fight or find a lost object or anything else basically heroic. But comforting someone? Not happening).

History
Casper was born in Philadelphia and was raised there among the wealthy and scholarly folk. His parents sought only the best of everything for him; from an early age he began learning piano, classical guitar, martial arts and other languages. His education consisted of private tutors and advanced school work.
However, at the age of thirteen, Casper attended a ball with his family and discovered he could hear almost every conversation in the room clearly. He'd never noticed this before, and his young mind was frightened by it. So, like any other child, he ignored it. Pretended it could happen. But over the next year, his hearing became even more acute. So much so that he passed out when his father yelled too closely near him.
The problem became the most apparent on his fourteenth birthday. he'd invited his friends to his home to play soccer and when he scored a goal, he high-fived a nearby teammate. That small high-five turned into a massive sonic blast that propelled both boys back multiple feet. His friends leg was broken, and, needless to say, the party was cut to an end shortly after.
Following shortly, Hammel located him. His father, who now was now considered something of a pariah due to his son's birthday fiasco, was ready to send him off. His mother on the other hand was terrified of letting her son out of her sight. He was barely fourteen and she was desperate to have her son back. She refused the idea of sending her own child out of her site (in her mind, she thought she was protecting him).
However, in the end, it was Casper's choice to leave. He tries to keep contact with his mother, but hasn't spoken to his father in years.
(Note, Casper's father is a highly regarded politician. His mother is a kind yet submissive housewife. After Casper moved out, his mother began giving him a small living allowance which he saved through his years in school.)
As for the past six years, Cas has progressed slowly in his learning. Normal education, such as history and math, he has completed with relative ease, but he struggled with his power because he was so easily frustrated. It took him an extra two years of practice before the school and himself deemed him capable of successfully controlling his own abilities.
Now, six year later, he lives in Pilot Ridge, but still visits the school often. While he's not very good with children, he does find closeness with the students of Hammel. He spent six years of his life the loving embrace of those people; he won't easily relinquish it.
Due to the lengthy period of time it took Cas to develop his powers, which he can now control very well, he doesn't trust his abilities. He makes regular visits to the school to practice and makes an effort not to clap around anyone for he fears the sonic blasts he can create. Despite this fear, he is an extremely strong Sonic Manipulator, so it makes sense that his abilities are, in some cases, overwhelming.
He refuses to attend college for his skills are minimal in areas he'd like to pursue, and strong in areas he refuses to pursue. Through this, he found himself as an intern for Recruitment. His background in law and knowledge of the political world (greatly benefited to by his father) helps him do the job well. He can't say he enjoys it, but at least he knows he has somewhere to belong.
As a side hobby, he likes to watch people train and hopes he can be a trainer himself one day.
Roleplay Example
This is a snippet of Cas when he was fourteen, the night after a recruiter came to bring Cas to Hammel."You daft, moronic woman!"
"Whit, please--"
"How can you think of keeping him!? He's a freak!"
"He's your son, Whit! You loved him until this all started! Since when were so heartless?"
"You bitch! My son was a good kid, he doesn't break the limbs of other children!"
"Casper didn't mean to! It wasn't his fault!"
"He's leaving, Olivia. It's his fault all my sponsors are pulling out now! I don't want him anywhere near this family! Get that through your head, you slow shithead! "
Casper flinched as he listened to his father senselessly berate his mother. His father had always been a charismatic man; it was frightening to hear his tone darken so. The violence in his words made the boy's skin crawl.
Casper tried to shut out his parents voices. He'd never even heard them argue except for the past year. At first, all he'd heard was mumbling seeping in through the walls. He'd initially thought that there had been a few people conversing in the hallway, but when he'd checked, no one had been there.
Over time, the voices became louder and more clear and he'd been able to identify his parents. Every night, they argued about something. To him, his parents had been perfect together. A happy marriage, he had assumed. Finding out that that was wrong, that that was a lie...
Well, needless to say, it hurt.
Casper sat up in his bed. The four-poster, once soft and restful, seemed hard and uninviting now. From the foot of his bed, he snatched his robe and walked over to the corner of his room that was filled with an assortment of instruments. He picked up the viola and stared down at it.
A man from Hammel had come that day. The recruiter had explained what he thought to be the best explanation of Casper's abilities. According to the recruiter, Casper had an ability titled Sonic Manipulation; the ability to control soundwaves. This allowed for advanced hearing, and, as experienced only a week ago, sonic blasts.
Casper cringed as he remembered his birthday. He'd injured his best mate, Joshua. When Cas had made an attempt to help his friend, he'd been received with fear and scorn.
He wanted terribly for what was happening to him not to happen. When he was young, being a meta-human had sounded fun.
That was until he found out he was one.
The idea of being meta-human filled him with pain. His father hated him now. His friends feared him.
The floor beneath his feet felt so cold.
"Whit, stop!"
"Shut up, you stupid...!"
Smack.
The sound of flesh hitting flesh broke Casper's train of thought. He glanced out the floor-to-ceiling window nearby.
Impulsively, he threw the viola at it. The expensive instrument exploded as it collided with the glass. Wood and metal flew. However, the glass, bullet-proof through and through, was seamlessly in tact.
In that moment, Casper felt like a caged bird. He wanted, so wanted, to be normal. To not be hated and rejected. To have the love of his father back.
But he was smart enough to know that wouldn't happen.
He didn't belong here.
The sound of the breaking viola still echoed through the house.
He strained his ears, but could no longer hear his parents.
Silence.
Then, he let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding.
