The Basics
Name: Dell Arlene Nova
Nicknames: The Shadow, Supernova, Habanero, Tomato
Age: 24
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Trainer
Powers: Light/Shadow Manipulation. She is also capable of manipulating a shadow-like, durable substance to form objects ranging from gloves to bikes at her will. Her body also seems to be shrouded in, ultimately, a moving, breathing shadow – save for her hair and face of course. Her light manipulation is very limited; however, she can merely absorb light to make an area darker or even pitch black. If there are too many, or extremely bright lights; however, Dell’s body won’t be able to take it and she’ll hurt herself. In fact, Dell is not only rendered blind in harsh lights, but her shadows disappear completely. Harsh lights, meaning football area bright – and they would have to be close up, she’s alright in normal lighting, but her eyesight would still be hindered somewhat. This has led to Dell getting contacts, but she also has a pair of thick nerd glasses in case someone steps on her contact.

The Details
Hair Color: Red [dyed, originally black]
Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? Ears
Any Tattoos? None
Any Scars? Marks from falls and fights cover her body, though she’s managed to protect her face at least.
General Appearance:
Dell is a tall woman who is slender but obviously well-muscled, well that is to say if you see her without her shadows pretending to be clothing. Anyway, she has light, mocha-colored skin which is littered with rough and tumble marks that she’s sustained – most of them are from her beginning days in Parkour…or her recent klutzy exploits. Originally, her hair color was jet black, but Dell thought that color was boring and drab, so she dyed it to a bright red – earning her nicknames like Tomato and Habanero. Her eyes are a deep shade of brown, never seen without either a devious glint or an air-headed look.
With her powers kicked in and working, Dell creates an almost skintight outfit – almost, there are kids around. It consists of black pants, black boots, and a black collared blouse – all of which do not reflect light at all. Under this shroud; however, Dell does wear something – just in case her powers fail or the light affects her powers. Under the shadows are a pair of black shorts and a loose fitting, orange and white striped tank top – nothing fancy at all.
Personality:
Dell is erratic and…odd person to say the least. Many will say that she acts like a character in a cartoon – the older, more robust and dynamic ones of course. She is very hyper and high energy, not what you would expect from someone with her sort of power. Dell is a rough and tumble sort of gal, and loves to get into trouble – even if that means her fun ends up being at the extent of her friend. Of course, this gets her into trouble, but Dell is so childish that she doesn’t always understand why her friend would be mad. Of course, Dell is mischievous and rather devious, but again she is also childish – so what she considers to be fun may be deemed childish by others. Dell is also very optimistic and proactive. If you ask her to do something for you, and it catches her interest of course, chances are she’ll do it in a jiffy.
Dell can be arrogant and a bragger, and frequently she will stretch the truth to make herself look good. Of course, this means she is usually ‘all bark and no bite’, but sometimes it doesn’t so you should still be careful. Usually, she’s just trying to be playful, but other times it is an intimidation tactic. Of course, many people write this behavior off as negative and annoying, that doesn’t bother Dell too much; however, those types of people tend to just dampen her good time.
While she is a goof ball, Dell can get serious and stubborn when the time calls for it. However, she doesn’t always think things through – regardless of the situation. She is more of a leap first, think later type of person, which makes her quite reckless, and also leads her into very dangerous situations. Depending on whether it’s a fight or not, you can get two reactions from a Dell under pressure – freaked out and spazzy into a hardcore thinking pow wow, or a serious, callous woman who wants to get something done, the latter being her mentality in a hard fight.

History
Dell had the same childhood that you would expect of someone like her. She didn’t like her parents, and her parents didn’t like her. In fact, as her late childhood ended, her relationship with her parents had nearly deteriorated. Why? Well there were many things, Dell wasn’t exactly the model child and there were also financial troubles looming over the Nova family’s head. Her father became an alcoholic, and would frequently drink himself to sleep once he came home from work. Her mother, on the other hand, was a callous, quiet woman, but never did she ever harm a hair on Dell’s head. Her father did not abuse Dell either, sure he would yell, but the more booze he took in the more lethargic and relaxed he became.
Her powers surfaced after puberty, around twelve to be precise. Her powers were the straw that broke the camel’s back. After they surfaced, Dell didn’t claim that she even had a relationship with her parents ever again. The Hammel Institute picked her up a short time later, which in hindsight probably prevented any abuse that might have been coming. She spent the rest of her teenage years at the Institute, going through the educational system. At first, Dell hated her powers and hated being at Hammel – so she frequently acted out, talked back, etc. Eventually, she grew into the person she is today and settled down. Dell became much more friendly, but that didn’t mean she still wasn’t a nightmare for teachers. She never was… a good student.
Dell, somehow, graduated from Hammel at nineteen and was sent to a community college close by. She hated it and returned to Hammel no less than two years later. So, at twenty-on, she was begging and pleading with management to give her a job and soon enough they did – as a Trainer. Dell was happy with her placement…it was better than being on the street…or a librarian. Dell was sure, eccentric and fiery, but good at her job, which is why she still has it after three years now.
Roleplay Example
Cities weren't on Mona's list as something to be trusted. No, in all honesty the young woman preferred the cool, foggy forest to a bustling metal jungle. For one who was accustomed to dense woods with thick trees with far branching roots, thorns, and bushes alike, moving through one of the forests of Lyanin was fairly easy. You still had to exercise caution; however, Lyaninian forests were notoriously unpredictable. If your eyes weren’t open to your surroundings, to all the possible outcomes of a step, then you would surely trip, stumble, fall, or be ambushed. Especially with her enemies so near, it wasn’t Adoxa’s intention to slip up and trip. No rather, it was to find food and a place to rest for a few hours – she could continue with her trek during the young hours of the evening.
She was zipping along, past trees, bushes, and rocks in her beast form, all had been charred by the endless fires war had set upon the wildlife of the realm. The smell of burning wood filled her nostrils as she ran, effortlessly bounding over blackened branches and roots – cringing whenever she heard a crack. It reminded Adoxa of her home village, which had also been burned – though the extent of which was unknown to her – by humans, the memories still loomed in the front of her mind. The smell of blood and flame, burning wood and scorched earth, all mixed with screaming and mass confusion. It was an awful memory, occasionally the scene reoccurred in her dreams, only she could do nothing as her sister killed off her friends, family, Chessur…all while she stood there, anchored to the spot.
Adoxa jumped onto a high rock, crouched, and looked around her. Her long, black ears tensed and strained to catch even the most subtle sound. There must be life in this forest, there must be something still living. This forest had been damaged, yes, but it was far from destroyed. In fact, wasn’t ash supposed to be rich – good for farming? An old family friend of hers had told her that once. The nutrients that existed in ash were perfect for growing food or even new trees. So, in a sense, a new forest would rise from the ashes of the old – like a phoenix. It gave Adoxa some piece of mind, and allowed her to calm down. The forest’s eerie calm kept her from letting her guard down, there was just something looming that she couldn’t put her finger on….but she didn’t trust it at all.
The black rabbit began to head in the direction of the edge of the forest. There would be no food or shelter here. The animals had most likely left, which meant there would be no fruits or berries for her to eat – so much for resting and refueling. Adoxa bolted, hind legs doing all the work at the moment. Her red eyes focused and caught sight of something ahead of her, causing her to slow down. Her black fur blended in to the charred and blackened ground. Adoxa’s head tilted up, toward the person in front of her, causing her ears to brush against her arched back. Who was this person? Should she fight? Should she bypass?
”Humans! They burn and destroy this place for their own selfish need!”
The small girl began to spread seeds about. Finally someone who shared her view of humans – but this girl didn’t look quite like a beast…perhaps a fairy or an angel – not that Adoxa had seen an angel of course. The large rabbit came up to her full height, hoping that alone would alert the girl of her presence, despite the distance between them. The beast took a few steps toward the small creature before reverting back to her alternate form. Adoxa flipped a piece of her hair back, blue eyes narrowed but calm. “Finally, someone of a sound mind.” Feet covered only be stockings ghost over jagged wood without much yelping or grouching. She kneeled before the girl, looking at the seeds. What a noble thing to be doing…replanting the forests was what the woods were crying out for. Adoxa’s eyes moved from the seeds to the girl’s face. “May I be of some help?”
