The Details
Hair Color: reddish- brown
Eye Color: blue-gray
Any Piercings? two earrings in each ear

General Appearance:A girl of non-remarkable looks, Emma considers herself to be unnoticeable. She stands at a respectable 5'4, 127lb with a generally flat physique. She has a small amount of muscle from working in her father's garage and a light tan.
Her reddish brown hair is just over should length and Emma keeps her bangs long enough to be pulled back. She normally keeps her hair in a pony tail or clipped back so it won't interfere with working. She considers her blueish-gray eyes to be her only interesting feature.
Her clothes are kept loose enough to be modest, but fitting enough to be functional in the garage. Her clothes are generally boring, without graphics or bright colors. She takes the road of functionality over fashion.
Emma has a small, rectangular scar on her right palm from touching a hot stove when she was six.
Personality: A quiet girl by nature, Emma is a small town girl in most respects. She's spent a life feeling over shadowed by more outgoing and boisterous cousins, and has resigned herself to being the 'boring, responsible one'.
Being from small town America has given her a yearning for new places and excitement. This lead to her vast love of reading and her deep imagination. She tries to keep up her studious appearance but loves to day dream. She writes her ideas down and wants to create a novel from them. Emma believes becoming a successful author will give her a way out of her town.
Emma keeps high standards for herself in terms of responsibility. She worked under her father since she was very young and has kept up chores for as long as she can remember. Her parent's distance from each other made Emma try very hard to be busy and pick up the slack from her mother. She has no problem cooking and cleaning, or doing other boring chores.
Being practical, Emma keeps up her studies in hopes to get a scholarship to a different state. Despite her easygoing personality, she is not a pushover and is very stubborn in her beliefs. Coming from the bible belt has shaped her moral standards, but after meeting pushy zealots, she doesn't expect others to see things her way.
Despite her imagination and love of fantasy, Emma likes things to be predictable and at a standard, making her rather hate her new powers.

History
Emma was born to well respected family in the small town of Brahms Creek, Kentucky. Her father was a local mechanic and her mother came from a large pack of dentists. Her mother was unable to have any other children and this has greatly affected Emma's life. Most of her childhood life, Emma's mother Jane was an emotionally unavailable woman and rarely took care of the house. This lead to Emma growing up to take care of the house and made her feel the need to always be the responsible one. At first Emma tried to do well in school to impress her mother, but as years went by she tried hard to get out of her small town.
When she was old enough to take simple instructions and hold tools, her dad, Dale, begin to teach her to work on cars. By the time she was 12, she was working, unofficially, at his garage. Her dad was a more welcoming and warm figure in her life, and she has a tight bond with him and her 'uncles' from the garage. It was around the age of 12 that she saw her neighbor and friend, May, fall off a horse. Emma has been terrified of them ever since.
Ever since early childhood, Emma had an active imagination. She usually kept it to herself, trying to keep up the image of a hardworking student. But sometimes, when alone, she'd let her dreams take her far way from the small town. As she aged she began to write down her dreams in hopes of selling a book one day.
By the time Emma had turned 14, the local rumor mill around town had her mother cheating on her father with a bar tender. It would turn out to be true and her parents would divorce shortly thereafter. The stress of the divorce and the rumors running rampant in town, made Emma dive even deeper into her dreams and suddenly, those dreams began to turn into reality. At first Emma couldn't distinguish these from reality, leading her concerned father to take her to a psychiatrist. After her father saw the dreams manifest themselves one night, Dale realized something was off with his little girl. Shortly after her powers began to run a muck in her life, there came the offer to join a particular school for those like her...
Roleplay Example
The world seemed to welcome her today. The sunshine warmed the grass beneath her, the wind swept the scent of wild flowers across her face. Emma breathed in slowly, letting the stress of the day melt off. The garage had been packed today and when she got home she'd found three messages from Mrs. Thompson on the machine. It seemed like her dad being a free man, made him meat to the lonely hearts in Brahms Creek.
For right now though, Emma was alone and ready to be free herself. She let her mind drift from nosy old maids and oil changes. Instead she was on a beach, a white sandy beach beside a deep blue ocean. Emma had a drink in one hand, the kind with a little umbrella and that tasted like sweet coconuts instead of the bitter tang of the brandy her dad let her try last Christmas. She was wearing a designer bikini, a black Gucci number, and she was sitting in a big chair under a bigger red umbrella. The ocean lapped at her feet, the salty wind pulled at her hair.
Emma was a successfully business women, a high living CEO, on vacation in the Virgin Islands. She had hired cabana boys to cater to her every whim. One, a dark tall prize, came over with some sun tan lotion in one hand and a glass of ice cream in the other. She smiled wide and watched him from under her two hundred dollar sunglasses as he- " Emma! Hey girl, you got a call!"
Emma jumped up from the grass she was laying on and subsequently from the sandy beach. She sighed and tried to shake the dark cabana boys from her mind, but he was still there lingering at the edge of her vision. She turned to face him, wondering id she'd fallen asleep and if she was, why he was standing by the tree in her backyard. He smiled, came close enough to kiss her and offered to rub lotion on her back. Emma pinched herself, then seeing the world shift sideways back to blue oceans, screamed.
