She thought she was okay. Hours earlier, in the warmth that her close friend provided, in the brightness of the familiar room and the comfort of knowing that the little bastard couldn't get her in there... she had felt she would be just fine. But the next morning she had opened her eyes, a flash of pain and blood and fear going through her head, and the brunette had rushed to the bathroom to regurgitate everything she had eaten the previous day. The shakiness was worse than ever, twitching going through all of her muscles, nerves. What Jesse did to her... had scared her. More than anything else she had every really come in contact with. Her life was regular, minus the whole... meta-human thing. But November had never had to face anything that really gripped her with fear before. Small things, like jumping off the thirty foot cliff to the ocean below when she went to beach with her friends... and the car crash had scared her. But not such an absolute... collective of everything that scared her before.
She shivered, pulling the oversized jacket closer to her petite form - it wasn't even cold that morning. In fact, the high was in the 80's that day, early summer had arrived, bringing humidity with it. But she still shook in the jacket. Her and Sammy walked silently across the campus, which was an unusual sight. For one thing, it was early - still half an hour before early classes started. For another, they weren't joking. Or being loud and disruptive. Acting like their normal, lighthearted selves. A morbid sort of air was over them as their feet crunched on the green grass of the fields, cutting across to the office building where they supposed the professor they were seeking would be.
November chewed on her bottom lip, mind reeling to figure out what she was going to say. Just go ahead and blurt out that there was a maniac on campus? Or calmly explain what happened last night... Yeah right, she probably couldn't get through talking about it without getting choked up again. She groaned, cursing being a wuss again. Glancing off to the side, she offered a small smile to her pyrokenetic companion. Her small hand reached out and clasped around his desperately as they walked into the large building, and through the hallways filled with doors to different offices. Brown eyes nervously studying the names on each door until they stopped in front of the one door which read, "Dr. Sean Neville" in plain script. She looked over at Sammy, an odd expression on her face. Her stomach feeling queasy, her fingers twitched around his, a sense of sudden tiredness around her.
