Getting off campus was always a relief, sure they didn’t allow them nearly enough time or let them really have any freedom, but it was better than nothing. Jen, being Jen, took any opportunity she could to get away from the school. It was so lifeless and boring, at least when she was out she could shop and actually explore without having someone watch her every move. This being said, she wasn’t always watched Jen just felt this as true, being realistic most of the time/some of the time, people watched the students. Watching them wasn’t really a problem, of course they had to keep the students safe, so when students like Jen entered the equation then it became a problem. Most of the time she got away with drinking, smoking and causing a ruckus, she was quite good at avoiding being caught but there have been times where she wasn’t good enough.
As she walked down into the main entrance of the mall she let out a sigh, it was exactly where she wanted to be. Now her family wasn’t poor but nor were they rich, Jen and her father lived in a smallish town but luckily it did have a mall. Having not as much money at her disposal, Jen couldn’t spend too much money, but enough to buy her a few new items of clothing in each trip. Shopping could consume a person for hours on end, it was like drugs, and you just want to go back for more. After she got her clothing, she paid off a guy to buy her some alcohol and cigarettes, girls have their needs. She had been shopping for a good two hours when she checked the time; it was around about when she was supposed to be meeting up with Ant. The pre-arrangement wasn’t uncommon, although most of the time they just hung out when they saw each other. It always different case when out of the institute, it’s a lot harder to just run into people. A quick corner took her in the direction of Starbucks, Jen was so glad they had decided to meet there, she could kill for a coffee.
Passing by people Jen had to always be careful not to touch anyone, if she did there was always a chance, no matter how slim, that they were a Meta and she could pick up their power. If it was something very hard to control that she hadn’t picked up before, it is very unlikely that it will end well. Only a couple people got close enough that she had to move not to make contact with them, apart from that it was smooth sailing. Within a couple of minutes she was at Starbucks, relief was clear on her face. All Jen wanted to do was to sit down and let her feet rest, whilst drinking a coffee. Before stepping forward into the line Jen hesitated, wondering whether to wait for Ant or not. It only took a couple moments for her to decide that he could get his drink when he got there, otherwise she could be waiting a while.
The line moved quickly and it wasn’t too long before she was at the counter and the boy was asking her what she wanted. As she had many times before she ordered her latte, the boy had a bit much of a smile for her than was comfortable but she let him dream and gave him a wink. Turning away she walked to the other end to grab her latte, hoping that it wouldn’t take too long so she could sit down and drink it. A couple minutes passed and the guy in front of her in the line got his and her impatience was starting to show, she was tapping her hand on her leg and watching on anxiously where the latte was being made. Waiting and patience was not one of Jen’s strong points. Luckily for the servers her latte was ready; Jen collected it and headed for a table with a comfy seat.
Once seated she pulled out her phone, not prior to her taking a sip of her latte and setting it down to cool. Jen’s fingers floated over the letters quickly as she typed a text message to Ant that said, “Hi Ant, In Starbucks up the back. See you soon x” Satisfied with her message she returned her phone back to her pocket and picked up her drink again. Gingerly she put it to her mouth and sipped, making sure that the hot liquid didn’t burn her mouth. No matter how enjoyable a hot latte or coffee is, there is nothing worse than when you burn your mouth.
OOC: Hope thats ok that I made it that they were meeting there
