Adam walked into the local watering hole. It was a normal run of the mill bar, nothing special about it. Adam liked it even more for that reason, he didn't need some fancy schmancy place he liked his bars like the one from Cheers. Though he hoped and prayed he never became 'Norm!' On that day he may just give up drinking for good. He hadn't really wanted to go out tonight but Darryl had left him little choice in the matter. He still wasn't in the greatest of moods though his anger and morphed into stress and lodged itself in the back of his neck. Adam was going to have to really watch himself tonight he couldn't drink too much. With his emotions running naturally high at the moment alcohol would only make that worse. He couldn't trust himself to behave, especially when Darryl was such a good looking man. Perhaps Adam would find a women who was up for a little one night romp, yes men have caused him too many problems as of late. The last great conversation he had had was with a women, maybe he would be lucky and find someone like Clarisse, who Adam didn't view as a good friend.
Adam ordered a whiskey, he needed something stronger then beer tonight, and one drink wouldn't hurt it would only loosen him up. At least that was how he justified the drink. Once Adam had his drink he began to scan the room, he had arrived quite early it was only 7:30 and Darryl wouldn't be there till 8. Adam spotted a beautiful brunette women across the room. She was tall not skinny, curvy, but not in the I'm being pc and calling a large woman curvy. No this woman was naturally beautiful, Adam could tell she enjoyed life didn't put too much into how she looked or what others thought. She laughed loudly and it was not a learned giggle but a full on belly laugh. She wore her hair done and wavy, from what Adam could see it looked like her makeup was very minimal. She was exactly the kind of woman Adam liked. Adam finished his drink in one long drink and began to make his way over to the woman.
Adam was not one for cheesy pick up lines, he simply introduced himself, he could tell right away if I person was interested at all. And this woman, Anita, was very interested. Adam didn't even need his gift to tell that, she was throwing out signals all over the place: touching Adam's arm, playing with her hair, making eye contact ten shyly looking away. Adam smiled things were going swimmingly. He was sorry that soon he would have to leave her company for a short time to be friendly to Darryl. Though Adam had a feeling she wouldn't mind and if she was still around when Adam was ready leave she would gladly go with him.
Adam looked up just in time to see Darryl walk into the bar and look around searching for Adam.
"I am sorry to say my sweet Anita, that it seems our time will be cut short for now. My friend has just arrived. I hope to speak with you later tonight." Adam smiled at the woman, hoping he was able to pull off the cute charming man look. He was never quite sure if he pulled it off or not. Adam stood up from the table he had been sitting at and headed towards his new colleague. Adam came up behind him and with a strong pat on back said hi.
"Darryl! How are you this fine evening." Adam began to guide them over to an empty table towards the back of the bar. Before he forgot Adam quickly signaled to the bar tender to bring him another whiskey. He was already feeling the first one. Not enough to feel any kind of buzzed but he was definitely more relaxed. He decided that he would only have one more drink, anymore and it would not be a fun morning, a fun night perhaps but not a fun morning.
