Darryl wished he had had that luck back in his partying days. Like on the nights he woke with a girl that wasn't his girlfriend. Don't get mad at him though. Everyone did bad things when they were very drunk--like himself--but on those occasions, he never once hid the fact from the girlfriend at the time. He always told them, even though he knew they would probably end it with him and probably hit him or something of the sort, but Darryl didn't believe in lying, and he would absolutely never cheat. Ever. (When he was sober)
"I wouldn't bet against you." Darryl told her, really sure that it would work. It made perfect sense, and it was so easy he would never think of it on his own; it was foolproof and definitely going to work. "And now I am doubly sure it would." He rubbed his face into his shoulder as there was an itch there. The itch always waited until you didn't have hands to scratch it--Darryl hated that. He felt like an idiot doing so, but it wasn't something he could very well ignore. It was one of those 'something is crawling on my face' itches, to boot. So not only did he look like a moron, he also felt like there was a spider crawling across his face. He knew there wasn't, but that was what it felt like.
He chuckled, however, when she told him to keep saving, which proved his mind that she was definitely flirting with him. He wanted to do a little dance in triumph for getting through her shyness enough for her to feel comfortable with doing that. "I will." Darryl responded obediently, pleased with himself and the progress of the evening. As they arrived at the snap dragons and she picked the ones she wanted and he grinned at what she said. "I do believe we are." Go pay for them, that is. Darryl wasn't akin to robbery. He walked with her towards the cash register to pay them. The register boy helped him set the flats down and he rang them up with the snap dragons. He told the Darryl the price and Darryl paid with it with his debit card. The guy set them all in a crate so they wouldn't have to carry them like that the entire way to Darryl's house. It was moments like these that he wished he had a car, however.
He then remembered the flower seeds Midori had picked out and he was a breath away from paying for them himself, though he wasn't entirely sure if Midori would appreciate it or not. Because he was conflicted about it, he decided against it on the grounds that he didn't want to offend her. He picked up the crate with the flowers in it and waited.
