Jaz was, if anything, hyper and restless. The snow had confined her to the warmth’s of her room and the classrooms. Usually listening to music or reading or trying on clothes or messing with her hair and makeup. She was a little bit tired with her own clothes and she didn’t want to go shopping. Sure she had the time, and money, it’s just that the last time she was there she saw one of the ads her mom had made her do for a Christmas lingerie ad. She really didn’t want to see herself modelling bra’s across the mall and she didn’t want to see people’s reactions when they made the connection. Yeah, that was fun.
Then it donned on her, that in the auditorium there was a stage, and backstage there were costumes from plays and skits and other things. Costumes from medieval days, to retro 80’s to modern day princesses. They had everything back there! Generally backstage wasn’t off limits to people, but if someone asked Jaz was in drama club. She had her excuse now all she needed was to get from her dorm room to the auditorium without freezing. She didn’t feel like throwing on layers so instead she just threw her thick black coat over top of her Skinny jeans and over the shoulder top. Her skinny jeans were acid washed but they were her favourite pair. As well as her converse which had many words on them.
She decided to book it through the snow, hoping it would lessen her chances of freezing. Heat was what Jaz craved, not coldness. It’s why she liked to travel during Christmas break, but not this year. No more modelling meant no more drama but it also meant no more travelling. Jaz didn’t mind the travelling, but she missed trying on the clothes.
When Jaz got to the auditorium, she burst through the doors before stopping and catching her breath. Jaz went for runs every morning to stay fit so that was nothing to her. But her joints did smart from not stretching first. Walking as casually as she could towards the stage area she removed her coat and carried it slung on her arms. Her bangs were still rainbow coloured, but this time there was a black under layer in her blonde hair. It was all kept up in a pony tail. Her eyes were the typical emo style, heavily outlined by black eyeliner.
Jaz felt like putting on a mini fashion show for no one in particular in the confinements of backstage as she walked backstage. She saw the costume rack and with girlish glee she began looking through it. She pulled out the Yellow dress from Grease And held it against her body. She wondered what she would look like with it on, she was almost too excited to find out. Making her way towards the dressing room she quickly ducked in to throw it on. It fit her like a dream, but was offset by her converse. She walked out of the dressing room back into backstage just to pirouette for no one. Jaz lived for this, and even remembered so of her much loved poses. The one that was so sympal, but effective, was Jaz putting her hands on her hips, looking slightly to the left and pouting, only a little bit of pouting too much off set the whole look, much like Jaz was posing now.
