Guess who was selected to help plan the Winter Formal?

Anna was sitting in the lounge, not sure why the heck she’d been picked for the planning of the Winter Formal thing, she hadn’t been planning in going and Anna sucked at planning. She was the first one there but she was just lounging around with a notebook near her and nothing else there. She was half hoping that the other people would be good at planning things like this because Anna was not one for planning anything formal.

Listening to her iPod, she was just waiting for someone else to come to along to do this planning thing. Anna was relaxing in a pair of her favourite jeans as well as a cute little blue t-shirt with a little chick on the front of it and the words ‘I’m not a nugget’ coming from a speech bubble from the little chick’s beak. It wasn’t like it was a fashion show right? She could just wear anything and just talk about this winter formal thing, it wasn’t as if they’d be making some big huge major decisions about the dance…or at least she hoped not. There was this lingering feeling that if something went wrong she’d be the one to blame. Pressure was not good on Anna.

Still waiting for someone to get there Anna glanced around wondering if anyone else around was doing the same thing, maybe the others were already here and she hadn’t noticed. God she hoped not, then she’d look like an idiot, glancing around again she couldn’t see anyone that she thought would be doing the planning stuff, but then again she wasn’t entirely sure if she’d recognise anybody. This was becoming slightly frustrating now, Anna hoped that she was just early and the first one here so she wouldn’t seem like an idiot or anything. She really didn’t want to get up and have to check that no one else around here was here planning the Winter Formal and getting angry at her for being late.

Adjusting the collar on his green plaid shirt, Garth smiled quickly and decided that if he didn't want to be monstrously late, he should probably leave for that Winter Formal meeting. Showing up late to planning meetings, especially something important sounding, was just plain rude - as if his usual tardiness was delightfully polite. Still, he wanted to make a decent impression on whoever his fellow council members would be, so pen and notebook in hand, he headed down the hall and towards the lounge, hoping they hadn't started without him. He wasn't even late yet, was he?

Taking his customary glance around the hallway, Garth ensured that his path was fruit-free and proceeded to walking quickly, mulling his current position over in his head. He couldn't think of a good reason as to why he would actually be chosen to help plan a dance, other than the fact that he could tape banners to walls. But really, that was not a reasonable criteria for a leadership position, but that was fine. Garth knew how to take care of himself, and he knew how to adapt very quickly. As long as someone could get him started, Garth could do anything they needed him to. Except food. He refused to assist with food orders and planning under any circumstance and there was basically nothing that would change his mind.

"Hey, I'm not late." Garth muttered to himself with a hint of surprise, glancing at the nearby clock. "Operation Good First Impression is a go-go." Opening the door, he noticed that girl - Hannah or Anna, her name was familiar and he had seen her around, he was sure of it - sitting and looking around. She looked calm enough that she was probably on the committee too, so without a proper introduction, Garth waved and sat beside her, hoping he wasn't being imposing, but also not terribly concerned about imposition.

"Hey, you planning the Winter shuffle session?" Garth asked as he sat down, trying to strike up conversation. "I got enlisted for the dance, but I'm not really sure why... I'm Garth, woefully uninformed." He laughed slightly, hoping that [H]anna[h] wasn't aloof or antisocial or actually trying to do something else. Because that could be awkward.

When the door opened, Anna didn’t look up, she just continued to glance around listening to her music, one headphone out so that she could hear if someone came over to her, then she saw someone walking over to her and sitting beside her. Taking out her other headphone, she turned off her iPod and watched the guy. She’d seen him around but his name had escaped her so she wasn’t sure who he was.

He asked if she was planning the Winter Formal and she nodded. “Yeah I’m supposed to, why they chose me I have no clue.” She said laughing slightly as he said about him being woefully uninformed. “Pleased to meet you Garth, I’m Anna, the one who doesn’t have a funny answer to go along with her name.” She said grinning. Depending on her mood Anna could be highly unsociable, but today she wasn’t in a bad mood and this guy’s energy seemed to be good too so she was willing to be nice.

“So do you think they just picked names outta the hat or something for people to plan?” Anna asked curiously, she wasn’t sure who else had been picked to do this but she was hoping they’d be better informed and better at picking things than she was. Anna was highly indecisive about random silly little things that didn’t really matter to her.

The names must have been picked at random. Stella couldn't believe that anyone would choose a girl who could hardly see to help plan a dance; how was she supposed to help? Still, it was an opportunity to meet some more people, perhaps, in a situation that would give them all something in common to talk about! As for what she could contribute.... while Stella's eyesight made it difficult (and dangerous to herself any anyone near her) to set up decorations, the girl had a wonderful imagination when it came to design. And she liked music, though had no idea what sort of thing people listened to (seriously, she thought Lady Gaga was a princess from Eastern europe.)

"Ah, hello," she said softly as she made her way towards the other two students she could see waiting. She didn't recognise any of them, but that wasn't unusual; she had only been there a month or so. In a deep red coat pulled over Stella's blouse and skirt, the whiteness of her hair and skin stood out starkly. Most students had seen her around the campus at least once by now, and didn't look too hard. It had finally given her the nerve to wear outfits that had only ever been strictly for home wear.

"This is the, eh, Winter planning?" she asked after a moment, looking between the two students before her. "I've been asked to help plan?"

Of all people in the school, Eric was one of those chosen to help plan the Winter formal. It didn't exactly make sense to him, and he was kinda worried about his inability to be neat and tidy. Eric didn't think he had it in him to plan an event...he didn't even know what it entailed completely! Anyway, he'd been up all night with the worry, and the pacing, so he slept in a bit. When he woke up, he lazed through a shower and breakfast. Then he finally checked the time, because he was sure he had woken up earlier than he did. He was actually around thirty minutes off and he had then ran out of the cafeteria in a rush, returned to his dorm to get his bag (because maybe he needed it?), and ran to the lounge.

Thanks to his exercise training with Zac, he hadn't even broken a sweat, sure his shirt was a bit tossed, but he looked fine elsewise. He opened the door and stepped in, his eyes passed around those inside until they landed on a small group of people. Of those people he recognized only one; Garth. As he should, the two of them were pretty good friends since they were roommates. His hope for the Winter Formal grew exponentially at seeing the guy, because in Eric's opinion, Garth was a very funny and creative individual. His other opinion; the two girl's on the committee with them looked smart and educated and good at planning things.

Eric sank into another seat, a kinda shy smile on his face. "'M sorry I'm late. Overslept a bit. I'm Eric. I hope this is easier than I think it will be." Eric scratched the back of his head with his sad introduction of himself, but he really was more hopeful than he portrayed, why? Zac's brainwashing told him to not always admit what he was feeling, exactly. He wasn't terribly sure why, yet, but there you go.

"I hope we weren't chosen at random." Garth confessed, rubbing the back of his head with a slight laugh. "Because that could be bad." Just as he mentioned it, a pale girl that Garth had never managed to see before walked in and he waved warmly, fairly certain that she was another member of the Council of Winter. At least she was dressed warmly. "Hey, welcome to the planning committee. We Winter Formal here so well."

Of course, who would come in next other than Eric? Grinning broadly, Garth waved a bit too energetically and as Eric sat down, he just assumed that there were no other people coming to the meeting-type-thing. Sitting back, Garth sighed quickly before bouncing back and sitting up straight, trying to figure out the next step.

"Hey, so since this appears to be the approximate number of everybody, lets get down to business." Garth said, clapping his hands together contently. "I'm going to be honest and say that my skills end at lifting heavy objects and holding tape dispensers." He did have a few more skills, but most likely none that would improve a school dance, or Winter Formal, as it was officially known. "Though I'm sure if we all work together, we can pull some kind of idea out of thin air, right? Power of teamwork and all that jazz?"

"So, who wants to come up with cool ideas?" Garth asked, looking around at his fellow planners. "Eric, Anna... girl whose name I really need to learn, sorry?"

Though Anna had seen all of the people chosen to plan this dance, she didn’t necessarily know them. The four of them seemed like a rather miss-matched bunch though Anna was hoping that there would be some ideas that came for them. She smiled and held a hand up in a very slight wave to the two of the new comers as the walked in. When Eric introduced himself, she smiled. “Anna.” She said simply thinking that if they all at least knew each others names this wouldn’t be too painful or something like that. Though it was just the beginning, hopefully everything would run smoothly, right?

Then Garth began to speak, it seemed like he’d almost elected himself as the leader of the group. It didn’t bother Anna, he seemed like he’d be better at it. When he said about his skills Anna smirked slightly. It was funny that he seemed to have laid out his skills quickly. When he talked about team work and ideas and stuff, Anna couldn’t help but hesitate just a little. Anna was good at planning out her own daily schedules but apart from that she was very bad at planning other things. Why she’d been chosen she had no clue, which was why she was hoping these people would be better than her.

Biting her lip when he said about cool ideas, Anna tried to think. “Well do we want traditional themed, like you know snow and stuff, or do we want something other style themed?” She asked before frowning at her own word choice, hopefully it made more sense to everyone else than it did to her, because sometimes she didn’t even know what she was talking about.
