Down The Rabbit Hole [Robbie]

It had been a boring and long day. Shade was done with it. Even though she wasn't even close to tired, she wanted it to be over. School sucked. Life sucked. She wanted to punch something, but it was too cold outside for exercise without a purpose. She didn't want to drag herself out. Inside was warm and that was a small luxury of the school she planned on enjoying fully. It made life suck a little less for her.

Instead of doing anything productive, Shade slumped into a chair in the student lounge. She kept to a corner, giving herself a commanding view of the room. The television blared with noise and everyone in the room was chattering away. She stayed quiet, the noise pressing on her fraying temper. She could have gone to her room, but she felt like maybe she could fade into the background if she just sat there.

Shade leaned back in her chair and tried to breath. Was she trying to find her inner peace? Not really. She was listening. The shadows came alive when she was present, so she listened to them. They were quieter than when she had first manifested, a nice fact. Playing with them gave her something to do. She wanted to learn control. The shadows flickered and she tried to quiet them. Deep breath in, deep breath out.

After finishing his homework, [history, what was it about men in tights doing the wrong things for the sake of their ego?] Robbie was ready to chill and play pool. Alone or with a competitor, he didn't mind. So he left his dorm room and headed down to the lounge where as always, it was filled with students. Surprisingly the pool table was unoccupied so he started arranging the balls himself and looked around the room.

His eyes flew over the one corner in the whole room that seemed darker than the rest of the corners and he paid no mind to it. "Hey Robbie, I wanna play too." A sophomore announced and he nodded with a grin. Grab a stick. You wanna break it?" The sophomore shrugged and made the first hit, spreading the multi-colored balls flying across the green pelt board. "Not bad sopho." Robbie grinned and waited for him to make his next move. He pocketed a stripe ball and by his next move, he got zilch.

"That was pretty awesome, sopho."

"It's Anson." He held his hand up and electricity crackled in his hand. "Electrokinesis." Pointless to show off in the lounge but Robbie kept his grin. "Cool." He bent down just slightly to position the cue and pocketed one ball. He made good the next round and the next one. The fourth one was a bust and as they continue with the game, even Robbie noticed the shadows creeping around the corner.

"Gah, what the hell is that?" Robbie exclaimed, looking in the shadows direction.
