confusion

[Xion Enni]

A large, red crack in space opened up quickly in the hall down from the student lounge in Hammel. The crack got bigger and bigger, making itself into a rip in space. Once it got to about five feet in diameter, Xion walked out slowly, stumbling toward the wall. He moved down the wall, leaning strongly against it, until he found the door to the lounge. He opened the door, and dragged himself in feeling nauseous, and not quite knowing what is going on.

He looked up before walking in much past the door. Oh, he thought to himself. So I'm at the student lounge, i guess. He walked slowly forward, feeling the weight of his feet more and more each step. Once he got to a couch, he laid down, crashing down on it. what was I doing? he thought, waiting for the memory to come back to him.

He looked down at his hands and found that he had a bag in one. I guess i went to buy something, he thought to himself, excited to see what he had gotten for himself. he raised the bag up, and stuck his hand in it, reaching for whatever was in there. he pulled out dr.Dre beats earphones, then after taking a nice look at that, he satisfyingly put them back into the bag, pulling out the headphones.

The headphones were nice, wireless and all. He pulled out the receipt. "let's see what the damage was for these puppies" he said to himself in a semi-silent voice. $387.93 in total. He was pretty surprised, but happy that he got expensive ones.

He pulled out his iPod touch, and put the earphones in. He turned his music up so he couldn't hear anything around him. In about a minute, his iPod died. Xion sighed loudly, then started looking around, wondering who would be fun to talk to.

[Ann Hudgins]

Today had actually been an...alright day. No one went through a nasty break up around or near her, so she wasn't suffering from a broken heart that wasn't hers to be broken, and she wasn't ultra pissed that her not-her-boyfriend cheated on her. She rubbed the insides of her eyes. Why did her power have to be so annoying?! It was just no fair! Just once she'd like to get through and entire day without suffering through someone else's bullshit. The door loomed in front of her and it took all of her nerve to actually open it. The student lounge was uncharted territory for her.

But, she was taking advice she knew she needed to follow and was going to make a damn friend. Or try. Her hand was on the door knob for nearly two minutes before she actually got the nerve to turn the door knob. It's fine. It'll be easy. You had friends, once upon a time. It's one of the most natural things humans do, is make friends. It's fine. She told herself over and over. The door opened a crack and she let go of it. It opened slowly like in some awful horror movie (thank the Lord it didn't creak). She looked around as she stepped over the threshold. She was nervous.

It radiated off of her like heat waves. She sank into the nearest chair and noticed some kid looking into a grocery bag. She couldn't tell what the box was, but she could tell that he liked the fact he had it. She wasn't sure why. He listened to his ipod (man, she wanted an ipod) and she sat stiff backed in the chair looking around like a lost and abandoned puppy. After a while of feeling totally pathetic, she slid her feet out of her ratty converse and pulled her legs up into the chair and relaxed against the back of it, letting her head lull to the side so she was mostly looking at the upholstery.

It was pretty plain with little bumps in it. It smelled like the rest of the room, but it held excited vibes from the person to sit in it last, probably because of the conversation that was going on, or something that was on the Tv or videogame. Ann couldn't be sure and she didn't really want to know. However, the excitement was fresh enough that it still had an effect on her. She rubbed the side of her face as her heart picked up the tempo a little. She managed to keep the excitement muted, even if she felt a bit victorious (for whatever reason) and she moved a bit in the chair so she was more open to the room, she looked around with her newly vibrant eyes.

She felt like doing something now, which was so rare she didn't know what to do.

Xion Was pretty, well, pissed at his ipod touch to put it bluntly when it's battery died. He made an angry face at it, then accepted the fate of it, and put it back in his pocket, forgetting about the whole thing. When he looked around, he found a nice looking girl in a chair. He thought that she could be maybe his age or a year older. He looked at her for a couple of seconds, then wondered to himself , was she looking at the chair?

after a couple of seconds, she rubbed her face, and moved a bit in her chair. She looked around, and Xion looked away quickly, hoping she didn't see him staring at her. Who is she? he wondered, suddenly intrigued by this girl. i'm gunna go over and talk to her. Who knows? she could be really cool, he finally decided. He sat up, and placed his bag with his new items in it on the table right across from him. X Stood up, but sat down quickly because of a major head rush.

He got up again, but this time a bit slower, walked over to the girls area. His pant legs grazing along each other, making a 'swoosh'ing noise. He raised his right hand to the top of his head, and brushed back his hair that had just fallen upon his left eye. Once he was close to the girl he had previously been looking at, he realized she's cute! He smiled quickly at her physique, then brushed it away, and sat down in a regular cushioned chair.

He hesitated for a second, then said "hello. I hope you don't mind me, but it looked like you wanted some company." hopefully that'll work he thought, hoping she wouldn't shoo him away or anything. after a second, he added "I'm Xion, but everyone calls me X." He smiled at her, then looked at her, awaiting a response. Every second he looked at her, she looked better and better to him, but he could sort of tell that she hadn't had a happy life. He had hoped inside, for her, that her life became better as she came here. As most peoples lives have been.

X just looked at her. Face wide with a smile, awaiting a response.

[Ann Hudgins]

Stupid technology and their inability to be reliable, Ann hated those things. They were so glitchy and-- and why in the world was she angry at a device she had never actually owned before? She glanced around and saw boy-with-grocery-bag was now boy-with-dead-ipod. He was angry at it, for perhaps being dead, and it had seeped across the room to her. It was short lived, however. Which was good. Whenever Ann was pissed, her throat and stomach really started to hurt. Chakras. Gotta love them.

Not. So she was jittery, from the lasting effects of this super happy kid that may or may not have won something recently, and she felt more than knew that her face was more neutral than frowny. In the corner of her eye, she spotted boy-with-dead-ipod get up fast and look like has about to fall. Head rush; she knew what that was like. She went back to observing the crown molding on the opposite wall when she realized with a double take that he was walking towards her with a sort of...something coming off of him. She was worried. What on Earth was there to say?

Could she even talk to him? When was the last time she had spoken to someone that wasn't her mirror? (Yesterday, Mr. Kilbourne asked her a direct question) She ran her fingers through her hair for a moment and inwardly sighed with relief when he sat down without saying anything. So maybe she wouldn't make herself look like a jackass after all. She hadn't recognized the boy (which really didn't say much) so he probably wasn't in any of her classes, but the school was pretty huge. He didn't look like a senior, but when was Ann ever good at reading other people.

"Oh um, no. I don't mind." Yet. She couldn't help but add mentally. He was giving off good emotions; natural curiosity..a bit of sympathy/hope (so maybe he did know her..?), and some other little light spirited thing that she couldn't really put a name to. It didn't really matter exactly what it was, really, because it was something she could deal with, and she felt pretty good about it, and herself. Almost pretty (which was odd).

"I'm Ann. er...everyone calls me Ann." She said with a wane little smile though it wasn't the truth. The only people that called her anything were teachers so it was either Ann, or Ms. Hudgins. She couldn't help but notice the wide smile on his face, and while he seemed like the person that just smiled easy, it was odd to Ann because it was so foreign. She never smiled unless, for instance, and entire classroom is boisterous with laughter. She can't help it then. She tried a little friendly smile on, herself, but she had no idea if it was an acceptable one. Gosh, she was so out of practice with actual human contact it was ridiculous.
