When it come to academics, Addison’s philosophy was have fun now and do work later. Always true to her beliefs, Addison had accidently forgotten, or more specifically, thrown out her essay assignment on the French revolution in a spur of the moment frustration. Hours before the essay was due, it occurred to Addison that her teacher may not be impressed by her lack of effort, meaning she’d probably get in trouble. Therefore, rather than get the assignment from someone else, rewind time and save her assignment, or just ask the teacher, Addison resorted to her favorite past time of ditching History class.
That morning, instead of heading straight to History, her first class, Addison took a detour to somewhere else entirely where no one would think to look for her: the student lounge. It was so obvious a place that no one would ever expect her to make her hide out there, making it the most brilliant place to ditch. If Addison was correct, she could reside there for a good hour or two before someone figured her out and that was long enough for her. All she needed was a short amount of time to make up some believable excuse as to why she missed class and spew a three page essay. That couldn’t possibly take so long.
Therefore, when Addison first entered the student lounge she plopped down on one of the couches, a note book in her lap and a pen in her hand, so she could get to work. Addison however needed noise, so she turned on the tv to a local news channel. As it turned out, Addison found a discussion on a new bakery in town more exciting than Napoleon, Versailles, and the Storming of the Bastille. As a result, her attention quickly drifted away from her essay and toward the tv.
When the tv switched to a commercial brake about oxyclean, Addison looked down at her paper which was blank besides for her name, the date, and the title on the paper. That certainly wouldn’t do. Perhaps she just needed a break? Turning off the tv, Addison pushed aside her notebook, stood up, and headed toward the pinball machine. Reminding her of her simple, old school home, Addison just loved playing. Starting it up, Addison began playing. As the game went on, she couldn’t help but grin. This was way better than doing homework!
