Getting to Know You (Raelene, Isaac, and Trevor)

Ruth had spent most of the day after her final with her new-found friend Cobalt. Though she still didn't know why the attorney was so interested in her, she appreciated his friendship.There was a book she wanted to share with him, so she decided to go back to the dorm and find it. She was in a good mood, despite the cold and the snow, and realized that she had been such a recluse that she didn't really know her roommates at all. She knew their names of course, and they had all spoken briefly at the beginning of the year, but that was mostly just to settle the rules for the common area they shared. She wondered if any of them were home, hoping to maybe have a good conversation, as she unlocked the door to their room and stepped inside.

Rae looked up from her bed, where she was laying, her knees up in the air with a magazine placed in her lap. She honestly didn't spend too much time in her room, so she didn't know any of her roommates well. But on a day that she had no homework and it was too cold to go out for a run, there she was, reading a fashion magazine.

As she saw the girl walk in, she faltered on her name. She knew there was an Edward in there somewhere, but that was a ridiculous name for a girl, must be her last name, dammit. R...R....Rebecca...no it was shorter than that. Ruby....closer....Ruth! That was it, it was Ruth. It would have been really pathetic if she couldn't even remember her own roommate's name, regardless of how much they had talked.

Now that she had looked up at her for so long, she had to say something so she settled for a simple, "Hey," as she flipped a page of her magazine and looked back down at the pages.

Isaac actually did spend a lot of time in the dorm, though most of it was spent in his own room, on his computer, working at his desk--not for homework, he did that on his bed, his desk was dedicated to his ongoing sewing projects--or playing videogames. So he didn't really interact with his roommates that much, even though they were all about the same age, and he was in at least one class with the speedster.

That day, though, he had his door open, so when Ruth walked by, he looked up at her and nodded a greeting. "Hey."

But it was almost time for him to go home for break, and why not be nice, for the end of the year? He paused Red Dead Redemption and headed out to the common area, grabbing a blue and white candy cane off of his desk on his way. "Hey, Ruth, you want one? My mom sent a box." Then he raised his voice and called out, in case either of the other roommates was squirreled away as well. "Anyone want a candy cane? Rae? Trevor?"
