Hi again [Robbie]

[Avery Sainsbury]

The pond was one of Avery's favorite places on campus. She loved the view and mostly just the quietness. The school was normally crowded but since it was winter the pond was mostly abandoned and left alone. Even though it was a little out of the way Avery enjoyed the walk to the pond. Actualy she was quiet eger. She went back to her dorm and got dressed. Putting her coat and jewlary on last she walked out the door.

Ever since the lake Avery had been happy. She didn't frown apoun her powers anymore. Even though she still wished she caould have been normal, she was actually glade to be herself for a change. Today was actually a really good day for her. In a way she really loved Hammel. She felt like she could be herself only better. She had joined dance club and softball. Things she never got to do. This had put a smile on her face. For the last day or so Avery couldn't stop being happy and giddy, which was a big change, since she had arrived at Hammel Avery had always smiled but she had been a little shy about it. Now her personality shown threw.

As she approached the pond she jogged a little to get to it faster. Once she got to the pond she walked aorund to see if she could find a spot to sit. However she couldn't really find a bench or anything. So Avery decided to take off her jacket and put it on the ground. Sitting close to the waters edge she appeared down at it. One thing still ran threw Avery's mind. She wondered how to make it snow and make water turn to ice. That seemd to alude her. Averything Avery knew how to do came from her emotions. But what emotion could possibly create ice or snow? Avery sighed as she looked up at the sun with her eyes closed. Absorbing the sun. This is was one of her favorite things to do. Just to sit and relax absorbing the sun.

Tired. Oh so damn tired.

That was what Robbie was when he finally typed in the last sentence to his English report. Saving it into his flashdrive to be printed later, he switched off his laptop and threw his flashdrive into his bedside drawer. The weather had gotten cold even without his tampering and the snow was falling down in sheets now. It was his favorite time of the year and because it was colder than before, Robbie actually bundled up, ready to venture out to play in the snow.

The snow war from before had been such fun but he hadn't joined in favour of working on his report. Once a nerd, always a nerd. It wasn't too hard to get into that mode anyway. English was his niche, hence his passion was on the forefront when it came to his assignment. It helped that what he picked for his assignment was actually pretty interesting.

Digressing from that thought, Robbie bounded out of his dorm compound and once he was out, he threw himself onto the pretty soft blanket of snow. Rolling around for awhile, he even giggled to himself without a care of the people milling around. He was near the pond and didn't realise that a familiar person was sitting there alone.

Hearing a giggle Avery turned around. She saw a very familiar face. Deciding that since they where both weather manipulators that maybe it would be ok to have a little fun. Avery really didn't allow herself to play aorund with her ability. She tried not to even use it. However, when she met Robbie it was like realizing you could have fun with it and have control at the same time. She smiled and concentrated on happy thoughts. The sun got warmer and she started to see a little bit of the snow melt.

Avery giggled wondering if he would notice. She hoped that he wouldn't be mad but then again he could always make more snow. Then again it wasn't like it melted in a heart beat. It was melting but at a steady pace. She turned and watched him to see if he would notice that she was there, and that she started melting the snow.

He could feel himself getting soggy and Robbie wondered why. He wasn't using his powers at all so it must either be another pyrokinetic or someone with his powers. He poked his head up from the snow to look around before spotting Avery at the pond. He narrowed his eyes as he packed a mean snowball before throwing it over at her, laughing when it managed to hit near her and exploding.

"What are you doing dressed like that during winter?!" He called out, ducking a bit as he expected her to throw a snowball back at him.

Avery stopped making it warmer. She let the weather return to normal as she packed a snow ball. Throwing it back at him she smiled. "I always dress nice. Just because its freezing outside doesn't give me a reason not to look my best." She bent down and picked her jacket back up and put it on. "What you doing out in the cold? Making more snow?" Avery was still curious on how to make snow. "So...Robbie how do you make snow?" She had a feeling she had already asked him but she wanted to know how. It just boggled her mind on how someone could make snow. Buttoning up her jacket she walked over to him waiting for him to hit her with a snowball since she threw one back at him.

"Eh, can't be bothered with lookin nice." He shrugged before ducking from the sailing snowball. It hit his back but he didn't mind. He was about to answer Avery's question when she bombarded him with another. He shrugged. "I just make it colder. Then the rest just follows. It only works if it's already snowing. I mean...I can't make it snow if it's summer or somethin'. I'm not THAT evolved."

When she walked over, Robbie stayed where he was and followed her every move. He didn't throw another snowball at her either. It wouldn't be ethical. "Sorry I left too early the other day. I got a care package from my mom. She seems to know whenever I'm running out of things."

Avery shrugged "I wish I was that evolved. I would love to have a small patch of snow to play in when summer comes around. But I don't think that would happen. I think just making snow in general might be a hard thing to do." She looked down and gave a sigh "Sorry I melted your snow. I figured if you wanted you could make more so I really didn't feel that horrible. " She giggled adn looke up at Robbie. Her blonde hair coming down to her shoulders. Today it had a slight curl to it which made her eyes stick out even more.

"Its really nice to know another person like me. I mean a weather manipulator. Its really cool. " Avery smiled at him. She couldn't help but notice how cute he looked today.

"Oh I'm not up to that stage yet, believe me. I wish I was but it's not a big deal you know? It always makes me pass out if I do more than the occasional sunlight in the rain."

Robbie gave Avery a sideways grin when she apologised. "Don't, seriously. It's not a big deal. I guess I have a higher temperature than most people do. Because I've never been cold...much." He shrugged.

Giving Avery a smile at her statement, Robbie nodded with a rub at the back of his neck. "I've met a few others but they've already graduated."

Avery smiled. "So you never really get cold? How does that work? Do you always make it sunny or what?" Thinking for a minute she wondered what she could say. For some reason she had lost her thoughts. "Out of all the weather snow is your favorite?" Looking up at the sky Avery gave a big smile.

"Don't know really. I just have like a really high temperature tolerance or something like that. And no. I don't always make it sunny." Robbie shook his head with a little grin. "Yeah, snow's my favourite because I get to do this." He threw Avery a snowball and ran off so she couldn't hit him with one back. He hid behind a destroyed snow fort someone had built for the snow war that happened awhile back.

Avery laughed as the snowball iht her. She watched as Robbie ran behind a snow fort that seemed like it was destroyed. Knowing that this ment war. well they're own personal snowball fight anyway. Buddeling up a little more Avery bent an gathered snow. Making sure she was all bundled first she ran after Robbie. Knowing no matter what she was going to miss because he was behind the fort she threw the snowball in a tempt to lure him out of hiding. After the snowball hit the fort she quickly bent over and made another snowball. Patiently she waited to see if he raised his head. Then she decided, when he either stood up or showed himself she would playfully throw the snowball at him. A big smile played on her face as she wasited patently.

The snowball didn't hit Robbie but it was quite close anyway. Now he wasn't sure if he should peek over the fort to see if she gave up or not but she was a little too silent so after balling up a nice and hard snowball just in case, he moved his head into the wall of snow and peeked around it to see she was a little bit away from him so he took the opportunity to throw his snowball near her.

Hopefully the distraction was big enough so he could at least strengthen his fort. "No cheatin' eh! You can't use your powers!" He called out.

Avery laughed slightly as Robbie threw the snowball. Landing pretty close to her she retaliated by throwing the snowball she had in her hand when she saw his face. Smiling at the mention of cheating by using her powers, she nodded. "I won't make it sunny to melt the snow if you don't make it snow to help your fort. k?" Avery knew if came to powers Robbie would probably have the advantage there. He had way more experience with his powers then her. Still smiling and waiting for a reply she started making another snowball. Packing it tighter then before. She was still inexperienced when it came to making snowballs.

"Deal!" He called out before making his fort even higher. At least high enough for him to be able to crouch, in the event that he had to move quickly. He then made enough snowballs to hit and army tank and waited for the girl to strike.

The girl had guts to be in a snow war with him.

After an hour or two of the snowball war Avery finally won. Of course it was a complete accident. Robbie went to stand up and tripped over his shoe laces, then Avery bombarded him with snowballs. Laughing as he got up she couldn't help but smile. She knew that he was going to be one of her best friends. After she won she decided to buy them a round of hot chocolate. Robbie and Avery went out and had some hot chocolate and a conversation about their powers. Avery even made it snow slightly outside before she got a headache and decided to head home. Leaving Robbie she smiled and went back to lay down.
