The Basics
Name:Ashleigh, Kade, Stone
Nicknames: Ashe
Age: 18
Orientation:Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Reactive Adaptation - Her body changes on it's own to protect her and adapt to her surroundings and powers used against her. For instance, if smoke was irritating her eyes she would produce a second eyelid, if submerged in water she grows gills, if thrown off of a cliff she would grow wings. She cannot simply change her eye/hair color because she wants to. Her body acts in many varying ways to ensure her survival. If attacked by a sharp object her skin becomes hard as stone, her bones strong enough to take the force. Her body keeps these changes until it is certain it is not in danger of the force anymore. It can take minutes, hours.. perhaps days if she was still under exposure of something. Small and minute differences go mostly undetected however in a case where her body has to change shape - ex. wings she feels drained and exhausted, experiencing discomfort to the area of the body that had to change as her muscles go back to their normal place. Unfortunately she cannot just manipulate her body into something offensive and she cannot keep her body from changing. This makes her ability extremely hard to hide and though it would be convenient for some, there are too many weirdos in white coats that would want to try to get their hands on a prize like this.

General Appearance: Ashleigh stands about five foot four inches. She has a small build, fair complexion that doesn't seem to tan much, light blue eyes, and light blond hair. She wears make up all the time but usually just enough to accent her eyes and a pale lipstick or gloss. She usually wears her hair straight but is also seen in curls, depending on her attire.
She likes to wear whatever is comfortable, being accused of a tomboy in her younger years she accents her femininity with jewelry and other accessories, dressing up even her casual clothes. Her ears are pierced and she usually likes to wear hoops or something that dangles that can been seen even with her hair, the others are simple stone studs with a hoop in her right cartilage.
Personality:Ashleigh has a twin brother, who doubles as her best friend. She can be tough, and when back at home used to play football and kickball with the boys. However she's not as bold around strangers and since she has started Hammel she's changed a bit, blending in with the other girls in the school.
Ashleigh likes to shop, as all young girls seem to, and hang out with friends. She loves to laugh, trying to think the best of any situation but she's also very sensitive and when it comes to seeing that vulnerable side of her she often puts up her guard. Most of the people in her life are only temporary and she doesn't like the thought of losing anyone she could grow to 'need'.
She loves video games, anything she can play with friends. Karaoke is fun, and she doesn't mind looking like a fool sometimes. But she is more responsible than her other peers. She avoids alcohol or anything else she feels could control her life. She tries to be the one that is level headed and takes care of others. She's somewhat of a martyr and finds herself in situations that are less than ideal, hoping to help the situation. She's often the one that's called when there is a problem amongst her friends and it's well known she honest and loyal.

Strengths: Ashleigh is good at sports, swimming, climbing. Her abilities help her adapt to any situation. She could withstand a duel, however she has no way to 'fight back'. She is pretty fit and likes to be active, in many different ways. And she's also good with her school work, being able to remember things she reads fairly well as long as she thinks she might have to use that. She has an interest and respect for others abilities.
Weaknesses: Ashleigh can't control her powers, making it difficult to hide her difference in certain situations. Her body constantly changes in small ways, adapting to temperature, etc without any given sign. However when something big happens and it requires, let say like wings sprouting, that sort of thing takes a lot of her energy and it can be uncomfortable if not a bit painful. Her body takes care of itself in the most efficient way, even if inconvenient for her. And the period it takes for her body to convert back to 'normal' can vary from seconds to hours.
Fears: Snakes, spiders, moving, losing people, not being able to control her abilities and being experimented on.
Secret:Her brothers opinion is highly important to her. She's always looked up to him because her father left before they were born.

History
Ashleigh's father was a man from the navy, meeting her mother at a local bar in Texas. They dated pretty steady for eight months then Bethany found out she was pregnant. They had just moved in together, and Samuel seemed to be serious about advancing their relationship to something more permanent. However within a week of finding out she was expecting she came home to an empty apartment, or at least partially empty. Sam had taken all his necessities and left, she had little food in the fridge and too many bills to handle. She struggled to make it, and did for about six months. It became harder for her to work and missing days due to her doctor visits, not to mention the bills, put a financial strain on her. Her car was repossessed and that's when she called her father to see if she could move back home.
At seven months pregnant she situated herself where Ashleigh and Dustin would know as home. Her family lived on a farm, having a pretty good sized diary farm and a few horses. He had inherited the trait from his father. Her mother had passed away three years prior due to cancer so she feel into the roll of taking care of the house, washing clothes, and cooking. Her father provided her with whatever she needed and when the two children came along he treated them as well as he would have his own. She gave them her last name and didn't talk of her situation with Sam, and luckily Grandpa Grant never asked.
Ashleigh was a normal child, loved to play outdoors, didn't care about getting muddy. Was curious over every little thing. And she always had her brother to look out for her. She tagged along for almost everything he did, from fishing to camping. The had plenty of land to explore and very little constraints growing up. It might have seemed strange to others how well she kept up with the boys, after all she spent her afternoon with her brother and friends testing their limits.
She never really questioned her ability, not having any real outward changes until one summers eve she was out swimming with her brother at the river on the edge of their property. They were both fourteen, still young but starting to mature into young adults. Ashleigh's body had been changing over the last year but she was unaware until this afternoon. They had rigged a rope on a large tree that leaned over the steady flowing water but on this day when she went to swing out it broke, sending her crashing down in the shallow water and hitting her head hard on a log. She was out for just a moment but when she came to her brother was gasping over her. She could make out what he was saying but it was all running together. She had sprouted gills just beneath her jawbones. She was confused, not considering it to be a joke due to the panic in his voice. She reached up to feel the tiny ridges that had already started disappearing back into her skin. She couldn't believe it. This made her different, she wasn't like the rest of her family.
Her brother didn't tell anyone but she went to her mother to confide in her. Her mother feared for her safety and she began searching for other incidents like this one. Ashleigh heard rumors now of people being different and being experimented on. Mount Calm was a small town and news would spread quickly if this happened in front of anyone else. Ashleigh's mother began searching topics and news where others had mutations and differences like this. Luckily it wasn't long until a representative from Hammel made a trip to Mount Calm Texas to shed a little bit of light on the situation and offer a solution to what she felt could be a potential problem. Here her daughter would get more protection than she could provide and perhaps even learn to use this gift to her advantage.
It was a whole new environment to get used to as she left her life in Texas, trading it out with much 'busier' surroundings. Luckily only a few short days after she arrived she ran into a boy from her home town, one she had talked to on several occasions and whom she had had a crush on since she was at least eight years old, Alex Cross. He became her block of comfort and given the fact he was the only one she knew she clung to him, in a way. After all it was hard to try to play that single role after always having someone else by your side.
They really got to know each other, she spent practically all her free time with him. When she started making friends she enjoyed their company but always found herself thinking of Alex. She missed him and that girlie crush she had had on him only blossomed into something more serious with this sort of attention. The discovery of her feelings, the fact that she was to the point she seriously needed him in her life, made things awkward for a while... which worked out for the better because it kicked their relationship out of the normal routine and it turned into something more intimate. At sixteen they were dating and she hasn't had any desire to change that.
At Hammel she has learned a lot of what her body is able to do, but cannot control it. She's tried to use the mind of matter thing, convince herself to react to false warnings but it hasn't worked for her at all. She feels safe at the school, having fears that one day she will be a lab rat strapped down to a table and put through a billion tests. She wants freedom and rights for people like her but she doesn't believe that force is the way to go about getting others to understand and trust them. Even after she finishes her schooling her she desires to stay at the institute, especially if she doesn't feel it's safe back home.
Roleplay Example
Natalie sort of enjoyed the cold weather, and didn't have to bundle up at tightly as others around her. Today her hair was down, something rarely seen with Miss Bane, and curled all over. She wore a black velvet dress that laced up like a corset in the back with bright green ribbon. The long dress flowed down to her ankles where she wore short black boots and the sleeves were bell shaped, opened widely at her wrists. Around her neck hung her silver snake necklace which she always wore. Her lips and fingernails were painted a bright red, her cheeks glowing a light pink due to the cold wind. She had chose not to wear a coat, after all she had on a lacy camisole which covered her cleavage where her dress dipped daringly low in front. Her eyelashes stood out thick and dark framing her brown eyes. A smile graced her lips as she took one steady step after another, not caring too much about shopping. No she used that as an excuse this right here was to publicly establish her and Ashley's relationship. She wanted others to know he belonged to her and her alone.
She could see him far off in the distance, his size making him stand out from the people passing. A smile played across her lips as he played with his toy, relaxing as he waited for her. He was dressed nicely, even if she considered his choice openly muggle clothes. She was used to being dressed more formal or in robes. But she had came to accept this the moment she allowed this strange relationship to go further and take a turn for the better. She caught a few drifting eyes laying on her heavily as she passed them, her eyes not leaving her lover. And it seemed she wasn't the only one who spotted him because Alekz walked up to him, extending him his hand.
Natalie raised her left eyebrow just a bit, wondering what was going through his mind. She had heard he liked a firmer touch which made it difficult for her to view him as a 'man'. Then again she didn't bring this to the attention of her friend. She never mentioned it to him, he was just like a tom boy to her. And be it friend or not she was still very territorial when it came to thing she had a claim on. She didn't even notice she gave a slight hum as she watched the two, growing much closer to them by the second.
She caught the last couple of words and couldn't help but cringe inside as he called her 'Nat'. She hated, no loathed any pet names or shortening of her name. But she pushed that aside and she walked in between them, blocked his raised hand for a moment as she put her hand on Ashley's chest and stepped to the side to also look at Alekz, allowing Ashley to respond to him now. She pressed herself up against him closely, a smile settling on her face now. "Hello Alekz. What brings you out here today?" She didn't mind the company, after all she could have all the alone time she wanted with Ashley later in the commons. Perhaps he would join them and they could find a nice place to sit down and chat. She hadn't really had the chance to talk to Alekz this year and was wondering if there was enough talk going around to have warned him the two were an item now.
