The Basics
Name: Logan James Hewitte
Nicknames: LJ
Age: 18
Orientation: Bisexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Technopathy, he's able to manipulate and control machines or anything technological or machanical. he can't really go into a device but he can sort of see the information in his head. he can break through alarms, password-protected databases, and the internet's just a dream to work with. he is also immediately aware of pieces of technology that are near him. The downside is that going too deep into something takes a little longer and leaves him standing there like a zombie and completely defenseless. It's also extremely draining and leaves him with a serious lack of energy. He's basically completely vulnerable when he's using his ability. The limits are that he needs something at least a little complex, and it has to have some kind of power source, batteries, a plug etc. If it's out of power there's not really a whole lot he can do about it. Also, he can stop, start, and alter date and circuitry but he is unable to alter the physical contruct of the device. He also relies heavily on his knowledge on how things work and knowledge of programing to help him with this, without it he wouldn't really be able to do as much.

The Details
Hair Color: brown
Eye Color: blue
Any Piercings? -
Any Tattoos? -
Any Scars? just a couple of light scars, nothing worth noting
General Appearance: Logan's not unattractive. He's not exactly he-man or the hulk in terms of muscles but he does alright. He's not exactly weak and the skinny nerd stereotype just won't work here.
The guy's not athlete but he's got decent strength and speed and is even just a above average but average is exactly what he looks like. He dresses well, none of this pocket protector and dozen pens in his pocket stuff. Logan keeps it simple with a pair of jeans and a shirt, maybe even a leather jacket. He's not fashion expert but he's not opposed to layering.
He's got these bright blue eyes that always seems to sparkle when he's excited about something. He gets very expressive and animated too and did I mention that great smile? All in all, Logan's not have bad to look at but he ain't eye candy either.. More like a sweet savoury snack.
Personality: He knows he's a total geek and a sci fi nerd. He doesn't care. His life's kind of like a sci fi film anyway.. Or maybe a comic book. Logan likes making it sound better than he is. He's been known to exaggerate but only when he's trying to impress something, otherwise he's honest and direct.. Or his directness comes and goes because he does occasionally like to tell people long stories that eventually lead to some semblance of a conclusion.
Logan's got a good heart, he does what he thinks is right and stands by his views and opinions until someone changes his mind about them. He's easy enough to manipulate when it comes to certain topics, but on others he can be quite stubborn.
He does also have an odd sense of humour.. Or perhaps just one that most people find hard to understand. It takes him a bit to be comfortable around a new person but once that's out of the way, Logan can be incredibly friendly and loyal.
Your Vices
Likes: comics, sci fi, pepper (he'll put it in just about anything he eats, salt's option but pepper's usually present), doing his crazy little experiments, his little robot pals (he builds them then treats them like their people)
Dislikes: being laughed at, insults, violence, fights, intolerance, taking things too seriously (he'll be serious, just not all the time)
Strengths: Logic, reason, understanding concepts that makes sense or are methodical. Understanding anything technology based from a simple motor to a jet engine to a super computer.
Weaknesses: talking to girls.. He's really not very good at that.. Or guys he finds attractive.. Or people in general.. In other words, he can be kind of socially awkward and when he does talk he tends to babble on about things that no one's really interested in.
Fears: Getting inside a piece of hardware and getting stuck.. Like on Tron (that movie's practically a horror film to him)
Secret: As much as he likes his abilities, he kind of just wants to fit in for once
Family Ties
Father: James Hewitte
Mother: Felicity Hewitte
Siblings: twin brother, Ethan.
Any Other Important People: Grandfather – Harvey J. Hewitte
History
Logan was the first of a pair of twins. Even at birth he had a lot to live up to. His dad went to MIT. He was a brilliant man who taught his sons as much as he could. Ethan had never been quite as interested in how things worked but his brother couldn't get enough of it. Logan wanted to know more, even as a child he would take things apart just to have a look inside before putting back together. He kept busy playing with broke toasters and radios and trying to make them work again.
Logan even managed to make a few new things. They were mostly very simply things but when he was 14 he figured something out. Not only did he had this basic understand of mechanics, but he was also gaining a greater insight into technology. He didn't think anything of it at first until his grandfather (being the exact opposite of his dad) was trying to program a VCR.
The old man didn't hate technology but he couldn't understand it, calling it names and getting frustrated quicker than it takes a light particle to go a mile. Either way, the old man was close to just picking the damn thing up and throwing it on the ground but Logan decided to step in and help.
The fourteen year old would have done it properly but the strangest thing happen. All he did was to think about what he wanted to do and as soon as he put his hand on it, the numbers started flickering. He wasn't sure what to make of this strange phenomenon but he later tested it out on other objects only to find that he had some strange unexplainable ability to control these objects.
It started out pretty simple. Logan would touch something and make it do what he wants it to do but as the years went by he got better at it and by fifteen he could simply look at something to have it do what he wants it to do and by sixteenth he only had to be aware of it in the room instead of having to look at it and by seventeen he is able to be aware of the different pieces of technology in a room (he'll know who has phones, ipods on them, alarmed car keys etc even mini torch lights are on his radar).
Logan didn't tell anyone about this, not even his own twin. They may sort of look alike but they didn't have the same sorts of interests and Logan did try to find out if his brother had the same sort of ability. He didn't tell him about it though. Having been approached by the recruiters, The Hammel Institute turned out to be a great way to learn to control it and improve.
Roleplay Example
Claude sat at the table, the fingers of his right hand resting against the side of his head as he contemplated his next move. This was very much a game of chance but it required good decision making skills as well. One needed to know if a bet was worth making or if a card was worth drawing. One had to calculate and make key decisions.
Claude did this every day. He had to decide how much a slave was worth and if it would work out in his favour to keep them for a while. He had a lot to think about. One of the male slaves was definitely not worth having but Claude had an obligation to keep him. He was in no state to work but Claude couldn't simply let him go either.
What sort of a message would that send to the other slaves? Get severely beaten to the point where you're no use to anyone and they'll let you go? No. He didn't need them getting any ideas. The boy would have to stay chained up in his cell and either die or get better. Those were his only options. Though Claude was hoping for the former rather than the latter.
Yes, he was chained up. The slaves that decided to be a little more rebellious, usually the men more than the women, would be chained up as a security measure. With his severe injuries, the boy was no threat to anyone. Even if he did try to start a fight with one of the guards it would only take one swift blow to put him down. Still, the boy insisted on acting like some sort of wild animal so he would get what he deserved.
The girls were trouble too of course. Thinking back now, Claude could reflect quite calmly but he still hated them. Women in general. They weren't worth the effort in his opinion and yes he did take it out on the slaves but he never saw anything wrong with it at all.
Some were quieter and more docile, easier to put to work while other just chose to constantly fight back. One of the girls was like that. She had been there a while and she had been beaten and put down so often but still she had that fight in her and Claude had actually grown used to it by now. It was like a routine for them, always the same and in some sick way it helped him to know what he could look forward to, even if it was a lot of shouting and her trying to fight him before getting put in her place.
Thinking back, some might say it was strange that he had known her for quite some time and still not know her name. Claude didn't want to know the names of any of the slaves. They had numbers and that was good enough to identify them with. They didn't need to be seen as living, breathing individuals. It would only make life more complicated for him and why would Claude ever allow such a thing?
Sitting at the table, he turned over the cards and found that he had won another round. The dealer placed his winnings in front of him and Claude just let it sit there for the next round. He didn't really care if he won or lost. Money was not an issue with the successful business he was running and the whiskey he had been drinking helped him care even less if that was possible. The forth glass sat at his side, waiting to be drank but Claude ignored it for the moment, taking the cards and he checked them before placing them back down again.
