Hey folksies, I'm Lee. I'm new to this gig, but curious to see how it pans out. Let's get this party started.
Total Jerkface?: Kou is that quiet, twitchy kid in the corner of the room who initially tries to ignore everyone. When people do address him directly, and even then quips and gives snide responses. He's also kind of condescending, not always PC, is plenty spoiled and can be bratty and petty. Really showy, loud people can GTFO. He has dabbled on the wrong side of the law before and isn't exactly straight-edge. BUT. While he's really slow to warm up to people, he'd like to make others happy and would absolutely love someone he can joke around and have fun with.
Third-Culture Kid: Kou's lived in the States on and off since he was born, and though he doesn't always look it or act it he's a US citizen. One thing that gets on his nerves is people that dismiss him as a "foreigner" or idealize him as some AZN stereotype (whether he is one or not). On the flip side, he's also been dismissed as "not Japanese enough" before, so he's also weary of befriending people with the same ancestry. Identity issues and other peoples' expectations are a huge thing for him.
120% Dork: Kou's a big fan of games and anything to do with computers or portable technology... and he has "dudebro" tendencies. Super-extra-bonus points to someone who's willing to communicate online or through texts. It's very likely that Kou would be BFF on chats with a person he'd sneer at IRL, or vice versa, as his persona online is really different. He's also drawn to anyone well-versed in leftist ideologies, as he's trying to figure out what he believes in. Finally, if you cook unhealthy food for him he'll love you forever.
Friends: They would have to be thick-skinned and persistent, and relationships would probably start over something functional: classes, computers, other things he geeks over. He's never had a long-term friend before, but if you can get past all that he can be fun to be with and maybe even kind of sweet. He'll never be someone's teddy bear but he may become a shoulder to lean on.
Enemies: Though he prefers to avoid people than instigate conflict, he's more likely to gain a lot of these as he's so abrasive. Anyone who is really loud or emotive is sure to put him off. He's also apt to having "rivals", as he's really competitive. If putting people off involves showing them up, Kou's happy to do so.
Lovers: Highly unlikely at this point, because he's so insecure and not a feelings person. They'd definitely have to go through the "friend" phase first. Kou's had crushes, though he's been toying with the possibility of him being asexual -- yet another thing he's trying to work through. Perhaps it's a theory he has to test...
Any and all plot ideas welcome! ♥
