Thread Roulette: Car (Isaac,Cali, Tamara, Eric)

No, I don’t think any of them signed up for this.

Eric adjusted his bag on his shoulders as he looked at his schedule. Indeed. Auto mechanics was on it.

But...

Eric didn't the first think when it came to cars! He knew were the key went, and which foot to stomp to make the car go, but he didn't even know how to drive yet! He pouted as he made it to the room set up for such practices and made his way inside. From the looks of it, he was the only person here, but that didn't stop him from letting out an, "anybody here?" He didn't get an answer, but he continued to talk. "You know, I think the administration put me in here as a punishment....for being awesome." He was just talking to perhaps get himself to laugh, but he didn't chuckle (even though he knew it was funny).

"I think they made a mistake, actually. I don't belong in here! I'll cut my hand off somehow. With a screwdriver!" It was a preposterous notion, certainly, but the poor boy couldn't use a cake beater without bruising himself. He was hopeless when it came to anything complicated--though you don't see him hiccup while playing any sort of video game, or weight benches and other work out apparatus for that matter. His excuse was that those sorts of things were fun and power tools were not fun. He could get hurt!

That'd be super bad. "If I die, I leave all my video games to Jared." Jared needs more video games, and Eric knew they would be in good hands.

There was no logical reason for Isaac to be in Auto shop.

He didn't need a "practical art" credit. Not with all the sewing and costuming he did for the performing arts department. Sure, he hadn't technically taken any classes in it, but he'd taught himself, and he'd proven it to the staff time and time again. After all, who was it who had done alterations for seventeen choir uniforms during their short winter break? Him!

But he was still in Auto, and he didn't enjoy it. At this point, however, it looked like volunteering to alter all those gowns hadn't amounted to much, since he was evidently not going to get the credits he was promised. See if he ever volunteered for that again. (Yes, he would. All he needed was for one of the pretty sopranos to bat her eyelashes and say please. Then he'd do it, grumbling.)

Isaac walked into the shop classroom and dumped his backpack on the floor, looking over at the younger boy who was chattering away...to himself. He didn't really know much about the kid, but he was pretty sure his name was Eric. So, hoping he was getting the right name, he rolled his eyes and said, "God, Eric, do you ever shut up? It's just cars." Even though he didn't have high hopes for the class already, he had the feeling that Eric could make it much, much worse.

Cali got up and sighed. She was definetly going to hate this class. It was probably going to be all boys, which didn't bother her, and people would wonder what she was doing. Was it her fault her father decided to make her go? Of course not!

Dressed and ready she grabs her bag and heads out the door. Basically running to class. Cali hoped that they didn't start already. After all she didn't want to get in trouble for something stupid.

Quickly she opened the door. Her seemingly black hair waving behind her manly looking outfit. Cali decided she was going to try and fit in after all. Her boyfriend would have laughed if he could see her at this moment. That brought a warm cheery smile to her face. "the loser class....really?" Sighing she walked in and threw her bag down. "So you where forced here too I take it?"

Mars was quite peppy as she pulled on her jumpsuit and opened her office door. Unlike her students, Tamara was actually excited to have class. Things were going well with her new project. The funding for it had been approved, all the parts she needed had been ordered, and she’d be able to get the class to start work on it soon. The old car was sitting in the back of the shop with a cover over it to hide it from view, and while not a lot of her students had the privilege of seeing it yet, she was planning on revealing it soon.

She had assumed that most of her students were going to be like Jean, and were just as psyched to have the opportunity to do practical work on a car. However, as she slipped out of her office and back into the shop room, she was disappointed in what she heard.

The mechanic paused in the doorway and eyed the girl that walked in before her, her short-lived good mood obviously gone. “Forced? You act like this is some kind of torture,” she said with distaste. This was an elective. That right there should have been enough to make her class better than the academics. Even if these students hadn’t chosen it, it wasn’t as if Tamara went out of her way to make their lives miserable. In fact, she did her best to make it a fun class. She was happy as long as they tried, but if they didn’t want to have fun she had no reason to continue taking it easy on them.
