Humanity seemed to enjoy testing him at this school. Constantly, Evie had been put into classes with the most obnoxious, arrogant, and conceited of people. Whether they were underclassman, or the same age as himself, they were irritating. Granted, he, himself, could be accused of at least one of those things. Still though, the young blond would rather be the one dishing out the annoyance, than be on the receiving end of it. Usually, Evie tried to carry out a child-like, carefree attitude, but as of lately that attitude had diminished. Perhaps, it was being around all those people that caused him to be so on edge. The crowded hallways, the busy dorms, there weren't many places where he could just get away. That's not to say Evie wanted to be alone. No, that's one of the last things the gray-eyed boy could want. He just didn't want to be around so many people. Hence, why he must have wound up here, in the gym, at the pool. It was semi-quiet. This pool wasn't for recreation, or at this time it wasn't. People were here to exercise and/or train.
The locker room door echoed throughout the pool area as the door shut. It wasn't a startling sound, but it did cause the few people that were there to check out who was entering the area. Evie paid them no attention as he walked toward the diving boards. It had been a while since he had done anything remotely gymnastic, but the worse that could happen was he belly-flopped into the water. He crossed the walkway, his feet squeaking on the wet tile floor, combining with the other echoes of splashes and breaths gasping for air. Upon coming to the diving board ladders, Evie inhaled slowly, then began to make his ascent. He tried to clear his mind, and focus on nothing more than his dive. No one else matter, because he came here to get away from them. He didn't want to be alone, but he wanted people to disappear, and this was where he was going to make that happen.
The rough texture of the diving board scratched at Evie's feet. Taking another deep breath, Evie began to move forward, each step causing the board to tremble. Even from only three meters up, it still felt like ten. Taking a small leap, into a jump, Evie felt the resistance of the springboard go down, and return launching him further into the air. Evie never felt so light. His small 135 pounds felt weightless as he let himself somersault through the air, completing not one, but three flips. As he neared the end of his third flip, he spotted the water, un-tucking himself, and letting himself glide into the pool with very little splash. His lithe frame disappeared into the watery abyss. No one else existed.
The liquid rushed over the blond boy. Evie only held his breath, not bothering to come up for air. It was something he always did when he had a chance. His lung capacity was higher than usual, being a singer and all. He could hold his breath for minutes at a time, and sometimes he did. More often than not people thought he was trying to kill himself by drowning, but that was not the case at all. It was peaceful under the water. Like a cocoon that nothing could penetrate. Nothing else existed.
