As quiet as can be (Cat)

Tom had just finished his book "frankenstein" when he decided to go back to the library. He didn't like waste'n time and he said "there ain't no rest for the wicked" something he overheard from one of his fellow students he'd youtube this song sooner or later he thought to himself. He stepped into the library he walked toward the front desk as he gave a quick nod to the librarian at the front desk and processed to the back. From his past experiences in libraries there were always some good books in the back hiding from the masses. He grabbed his backpack ever so tightly makeing sure it was still on his back as he he walked into the back of the library , he stopped in the middle of one of the o' so many shelves and looked through the many genres of books fantasy to romance to horror he didn't understand how people hated this place. It was a place of silence and comfort it was his fortress of solitude. He grabbed a book from the shelf and proceeded in reading the back of it. His grey eyes traced the back of the book with curiousity.

Cat was walking around in the library trying to find something she had not read when she spotted someone in the section she often frequented. He was holding up one of Cat’s favorite books. Cat smiled. She often enjoyed the book on days just like this one. Almost overcast yet a bit of sun shone thought the windows. She pulled out a few books by the same author and walked up to the boy. Silently she tapped him on the shoulder and offered the books with a smile. “Here.”

Cat, once sure that he had the books in his hand walked around the corner and pulled out a few books opposite the boy. She found the one she wanted and moved to the end of the row where there was a comfy chair. She sat down and put her bag opposite her on the floor. Silently she began to read, taking in the words and all they had to offer.

Made a quick jerk in the direction he was poked as he seen a girl with a few books in her hand he looked at her blankly. He grabbed them with a unsure look on his face as she said "here" this was completely random he thought.
She walked away to another aisle and sat down on a table he had been watching her and started reading the front of the books he was unsure of how to take this no one has responded towards him the way she did he smiled slightly as he looked down at the books noticing they were from the same author.
He could tell she was familiar with the library the way she moved about giving him the books of the same author in record time. He walked with the books in his hands to the table she was sitting at he sat down quietly opposite her he looked at her reading she looked deep into the book as he opened one of the books and read the first page he suddenly put the book down onto the table gently. He looked over at her and said in library friendly tone " hey uh... who are you again?"
he thought maybe he knew this person from somewhere and forgot who she was she was way too friendly to just be some random stranger he thought.

Cat was deep into the book when she noticed that the boy she had given the books to had sat down opposite her at the table. She decided to ignore him and continue reading until he talked to her. Cat was kind of hoping he would just sit there and read. It was one of her favorite books after all. She would hope that he would enjoy it. After a while Cat started to feel the boy’s stare. She realized that he was not going to just sit there and read. When she heard the boy’s question she debated ignoring him but her manners knew better. “I’m Cat”. With that question being answered she started to read again. He was not a familiar in the library, or if he was they were on opposite schedules. “Enjoy the book k’?” Sure that she had answered all of his questions, Cat began to read, and letting once again the words engulf her mind.

Her name was kat? a odd name he thought as she said "enjoy the book k?" he looked at her blankly and looked over the book as he said "well.." he gave this "suggestion" a try as he proceeded he read the first chapter with a yawn as he looked over at her he didn't like this book. He made a bored stare at her as he quickly changed it to a blank look he didn't want to be rude he looked out the window for a few minutes a glazed look in his eye. "My name is tom" he said in a moderate tone he tapped the table slightly as he looked at her and looked away by the way she talked to him he could tell she liked that book he didn't want to be rude so he waited patiently for her response not bothering her with anything else.

Cat was into the book when she looked up and saw the boy still there. She looked back down again and continued to read until she noticed he wasn’t reading. He must not like the book. Oh well if he doesn’t like it then he can just tell me or stop reading it. She was just at the part where the main character was flying across the depths of the deep abyss when she heard the boy mutter. She head him say his name. The boy’s fingers were tapping on the table as she was trying to read. Was he really that bored? “If you are that bored I am sure I can find another book for you.” Cat did not want to sound rude or anything, but why was he sitting here if he did not like the book. She got up. What is your favorite author? And follow me.”

"If you are that bored i am sure i can find another book for you" was he really that obvious? he looked at her with a semi shocked look and said in a moderate tone "that would help" He looked at her and got up as she said to follow her "I don't have a favorite author" He muttered "but i like fantasy and horror " He looked at her for a second, why was she helping me he thought to himself. I guess this is what it's like to have a friend he thought, he gave her a friendly smile. He was appreciative to this girl, she didn't have to help him find a book he needed. "Thank you for your help" he said, he wanted to be as friendly as he could be without it feeling like it was forced. He pointed to the back of the library " It should be in that vicinity" she probably knew that, but he wanted to make sure she knew where she was going.

Cat looked back at him when he talked. Cat nodded. Ah he was a fantasy horror one was he? Cat led him back to the section with those books. She started searching for one in particular, she had read it a while ago but it was still fresh in her mind. Cat figured that he may not like it but she had other choices avaiable for him to read. Cat pulled about five books and handed them to the boy. Then she started down the aisle again and pulled five more books, He should be able to find something he liked out of these. When he pointed out which direction to go in Cat went in the opposite and walked through a few aisles “Try these you just might like them.” The she handed all 15 books to the boy and sat back down to resume the reading where she had left off.

Blinks at her blaint ignore to his direction of going as he followed her, better not be wasting my time he thought as he made a blank expression, his face quickly changed to that of astonishment as he was given 15 books .. He looked at her glazed eyed "well you sure know what your doing.." He watched her return to the table as he was entitled to do the same. He walked back to the table all 15 books in hand ,picked his favorite out pushes the others to the side and began to read silently. His mind filled with bloodshed and violence he smiled a grin of joy. He looked over suddenly after a few chapters and said in a low, barely heard tone " thank you" he returned to reading the book silently.

Cat went back to reading after handing the boy the books. She was well into her book when she looked up and the boy had pushed the ones he didn’t want into a pile. Silently to not disturb him cat took the books and put them back where they belonged. Back into the slots they went. Cat made her way back to the table. Sitting down again, she read all the way to the end of the book. She closed it with a contented sigh. Getting up she realized he had said that you. Stretching Cat nodded and replied with an equally as quiet, “You’re Welcome”. Cat took out her notebook and, based on the books she saw him pick out Cat started to write. With about three pages of suggestions Cat pulled out the list and handed it to him saying, “For future reference”.
