A packed library? (Karashi)

For once, it actually seemed to be raining outside and Arlo found the library surprisingly full as a result of this. It was strange how different weather conditions seemed to create different environments in the library. If it was cold, it seemed full. If it was warm, it seemed empty. Arlo preferred the cold but had gone to the library anyway to find some books to read. It wasn't like he didn't already have enough in his dorm or anything, he just fancied finding something extra to read that wasn't either a recipe book or a textbook. He liked the idea of something more fictional for a change. Either that or a book about owls. He hadn't entirely made up his mind yet.
He walked into the library, being met by an unusually loud sound of people talking. And most of the talking seemed to be much, much faster than he could translate. He sighed quietly and just ignored the talking, thinking back to what he wanted. A fictional book or a book about owls. Or maybe even both if he found two he liked the look of. He glanced from one side of the library to the other and then decided the non fiction side looked emptier. Owl book it was, then.
He set off towards the shelves, dodging a paper airplane by a few inches and then ducking behind some shelving that was tall enough to entirely obscure him from view. Admittedly, that wasn't difficult though as he was rather short. His eyes scanned the shelving for animal books and he frowned as he realised he wasn't on the right aisle. That would mean having to brave the people again to move from one shelf to another. He sighed, deciding he might as well just get a book from where he was and sit on the floor to read it. This place was crazily crowded and he had no idea why, other than the rain outside.
He picked a random book off the shelf and sat down, not even looking at the title of it. He just wanted to disappear into his own world for once, given how loud it was.
