Cat felt herself smile. Xavier was supposed to pick her up when she was done today. She smiled apparently he had gotten it in his mind that they were going to go eat together. Cat laughed a bit she was still surprised at his enthuasim. As she went to go shelve books Cat felt herself be happy. She giggled as she put away a few Nancy Drew books and some of the Hardy boys series. She walked back up to the desk and saw the only thing that she had left to do was wait for the one book to come in. Treasure Island. In French. Wait, Alexx had that book didn’t he. Cat sighed. She hoped he didn’t forget. The truth was she wanted to get this done and over with quickly, as Xavier was coming. Cat sat down and waited for both of them to come. Taking out her book she began to get lost in the words as she waited.

"Oh you were waiting for me." Rhett said out of the blue after sneaking up to Cat from, well, in front of her. She seems so into that book. "And you can't deny it. I know for a fact that you were."

Rhett opened his satchel and took the book out, handing it to Cat, who, he supposed, was actually waiting more the book that Rhett, but to his ESP, it was all the same.

"L'Île au trésor. I didn't like it." He grabbed a chair and sat down in front of the girl. "I hate those stories where kids... save the world. Well this wasn't the world, he saved, but the kid was the lucky savior."

He smiled. He liked Cat. Not in the way her boyfriend liked her, no. Not in the way her friends liked her, no. It was more in the way he actually felt curious about her. It was, by far, the strongest feeling Rhett, so far, had felt for someone else, and it had only happened about thrice in his life. Cat was number four, but she was never to know such thing.

"So what are you doing later?" He asked curiously. "I was thinking maybe we could have a date. You know, along with Xavier, the three of us. I also know you are waiting for him too." Rhett winked at her. Come'on, come'on, be uncomfortable. "Funny, ah? The date, I mean. It'd be funny as hell."

[Xavier Abhay]

Xavier walked up and saw some random guy he had yet to meet with Cat. Xavier Knew he was a jealous man but he was trying to stay calm. Xavier knew cat would never cheat on him but still he didn't want someone hitting on her either. It was pretty nice out so he wore a no sleeve shirt with black pants. His slight arm muscles with tattoos on them where showing. He walked up to the guy and gave a mean smile. "What are you doin?" He was hoping to intimidate the guy so he would leave Cat alone. He considered Cat to be his, even though he knew that was wrong. He was planning on telling her that he loved her tonight.

Cat heard Alexx from somewhere. At least he was here. Cat sighed. Apparently his power had something to do with reading minds or something. Cat replied with an “I was waiting for you to return your book.” Cat held out her hand waiting for the book. She was sure he had it or else he wouldn’t have come. He was just one of those people that did not like being in the library. He had too much pent up energy. Just like a little kid.

When Alexx handed the book to Cat she took it and sat back down. She was close enough to the door that when Xavier came he would see her and come over. Plus Alexx had already grabbed a chair to sit down before she had a chance to go check it in. It would be rude to get up now she thought.

Cat sighed waiting for the obvious retaliation of Alexx’s opinion of Treasure Island. He didn’t like it? Because a kid had prevailed in the end? Cat frowned. She was not sure what it was but that seemed a bit wrong in her mind. Oh Cat knew that not everything worked out all the time but sometimes the people, needed to have some redeeming features about them. “So you didn’t like it?” Cat thought hard about what type of books he might like. “Have you tried The Little Prince?” Most people thought it was a kid’s book, but it was one of Cat’s favorites. She laughed as she thought of what he might be… Maybe a king? Or a lamplighter? No he was a geographer. That was it a geographer.

Cat looked at his wolfish grin. He was up to something. Cat laughed anticipating the worst. “Since you already know what I’m doing later then there is no need for me to tell you.” Cat looked at him. “I don’t really think Xavier would appreciate it if you came along. He seemed really excited about something.” Well speak of the devil…. There he was coming in the doors. Cat got up and quickly checked in Treasure Island. It was quick and painless and when Xavier came up Cat laughed at the look on Alexx’s face. “Alexx, Xavier, Xavier, Alexx.” Cat watched the interaction between the two with a slightly bemused look. She was sure Xavier wasn’t happy about something or another but it absolutely did not dawn on her what it was. “Xavier stop smiling like that. You will actually scare people. Isn’t that right Mr. Dragon?” Cat looked up at him, then back at Alexx. “You know you two remind me of each other in some ways. I mean you both act like little kids most of the time.” That last part Cat said with a smile, to show she was just joking.

"Talking to your girlfriend." Rhett quickly reacted to the boy that approached him and Cat, whom he effortlessly assumed was Xavier. "Nice to meet you, Xav." He said after Cat's introduction.

Xavier was not what Rhett had expected at first. Not that he had thought much of the boy, but in Rhett's mind, it was most likely some muscular or athletic popular boy with no brain and child issues that let him to feel attracted to intelligent girls and not the usual cheerleader. Xavier was most certainly one of those, and to Rhett's mind, they did not look like a good couple. At least not physically. He was too... alternative for her. Yes, that's the right word

"Wait what? Me and him alike? I'm not a little kid." I am... "Ok maybe I am but I still feel the comparison is as wrong as it gets." And I have good hunches... Aren't they part of ESP anyway? Yes, yes they are... "But that would explain why you have so much fun every time you see me." Rhett then turned his attention to Xavier. "We had some nice alone time in one of those dark secret rooms below this place."

Xavier balled his hands into fists. Anger was playing on his face. He normally didn't get jealous but he loved Cat. Looking at the girl he sighed trying to calm down. Just looking at her features made him relax alot more. Her face was the best sight he could ever imagine. Slowly he looked back at the guy. "Hm..I highly don't it was the way you are making it sound. It took me forever to get Cat to kiss me."

Xavier smirked and walked over to Cat "Hey Kit. I missed you sweety. May I kiss you?" Xavier looked down at her and smiled. He was going to rub it in the guys face that Catherine was his girlfriend and not his.

Cat watched the two interact. They seemed to be at odds with each other. Though she had to admit they were both being immature. Alexx was indulging Xavier, attempting to make him mad and Xavier was totally playing into it. Looking at Alexx she frowned. “He wanted books in French so I showed him that room.” Cat said as an explanation to Xavier. “And you are too acting like a little kid. You both are.” Cat eyed Xavier. He really was acting immature. “Explain. How is the comparison wrong?” Cat raised an eyebrow at that and waited for the rebuttal.

Cat sighed when Xavier responded to Alexx. She was not sure she wanted to know why Alexx was trying to anger Xavier. At least it seemed that way to her. Cat did not hear the last part of Xavier comment and probably would have hit him in the arm is she had. She was too focused on a book she had found lying around. It was very odd that it was just lying there. Cat sighed. If you were going to get a book out and read it then put it away afterwards.

Cat noticed Xavier looking at her and walking over. She sort of tilted her head at him and smiled. Cat giggled at the kit comment and she still had no idea why she was being called that. Shaking her head laughing Cat replied with a “My name is Cat not Sweety. We have been over this before. I tolerate Kit because it was the first time I had ever heard it and I thought it was original but, I have told you before and I will tell you again. Stop it with the Sweety.” Looking up at him Cat could not believe what was coming out of his mouth. Really? In front of Alexx? Oh wait, Cat had read about this. Something about the male establishing dominance or something? Cat sighed and looked up. “Mr. Dragon what did I tell you before? Asking means no.” Cat laughed a bit. This might just be interesting…. At least Cat thought so. Well If Xavier wanted to play so could she. It was going to come at a price though. Smiling Cat got up and gave him a hug instead. “Sorry about the space out. What did you say?” Sitting down again she pulled out a chair for Xavier, “Want to sit?”

"Well I'm not anything like..." Rhett felt interrupted as Xavier spoke.

Xavier was trying his best to not look jealous, but the fact that he was asking for a kiss, well, that definitely showed there was some jealousy in his motives, otherwise he wouldn't need to assure to the world that Cat only wanted him. She won't kiss him... She's not even paying attention to him. Her boyfriends are books, they're all made of paper and hard covers. This Xav... He has nothing on her. He's just a... a secondary entertainment, a tertiary plot in her life. And Rhett was right, she commented on the 'sweety' and Rhett couldn't avoid to laugh at it a bit, it was quite sad that a girlfriend answers like that to his 'oh so loved' man. I wonder if he can tell just how bad things like these are... At least she's right with the kiss, they aren't meant to be asked for, kisses are meant to be... stolen... A curious thought passed through Rhett's mind: he was, after all, a thief.

"Yes, Xav, sit down with us." Rhett said with a dread smile. "You did interrupt our little date, the least you can do is join us." He turned his attention back to Cat. "I have read it. The Little Prince." A couple of Kocher's memories flashed in his mind. "It was one of the first books I ever read. I did like it: it, mostly, made no sense. I liked that. I liked the king."

[Xavier Abhay]

Xavier sat down next to Cat and sighed. Looking at the other guy he shook his head. Turning to Cat he placed a hand on her cheek and caressed it smiling, "Today I had something special planned. Thats why I am wearing this ridiculous outfit." Sighing he smiled "Warning.." Then kissed her. The words played on his lips and he couldn't even though they have only been together for about a month. However, Xavier didn't care. He was going to tell her how she made him feel.

Placing a hand under her chin and smiling her took a deep breathe. "I wanted to tell you something...Catherine Novella...I love you." He couldn't help it. He stared into her eyes with a smile. Even thought the other guy was their he needed to tell her that. "I wanted to tell you later but..your just so adorable. I couldn't help but tell you now." looking at the guy Xavir sighed again. He had to show Cat that he could be the bigger man. "I'm sorry I got mad earlier..but the thought of Cat alone with you was...scary."

At this point Xavier was trying to ignore the other guy. It just made him angry to think about it. Sighing he relaxed.

Cat watched as Alexx yet again baited Xavier. She laughed a bit. "Xavier we weren’t on a date I was waiting for him to return his book." Looking at Alexx she smiled. "The little Prince really was a good book. I always felt sort of sorry for the lamplighter. But I have to say my favorite character would have had to have been the fox. I think the Pilot was also one of my favorite characters. Even if we never learned his name.”

Cat was telling Alexx this when Xavier said “warning” and she was kissed. Sighing into it Cat felt a blush arise on her face. When she processed the something special comment Cat smiled. Pulling away Cat laid her head on Xavier’s shoulder. She was going to talk to Alexx again but was surprised when The words came out of Xavier’s mouth. He loved her? Cat’s heart leapt. She smiled and looked up at him. She knew that what was going to come out of her mouth was something that not a one of them would expect. Silently she gave him a kiss on the cheek and whispered into his ear “I love you too.”

Since this was a semi-romantic moment Cat said it only loud enough for Xavier to hear. And hey, if Alexx could read minds he would know now wouldn’t he? Blushing and smiling Cat was playing with Xavier’s hand. It was relatively big compared to hers. She was not sure about the compliments or anything but she was positive she like him. A lot. She loved him. The feeling was overtaking her heart and she hadn’t felt this way about anyone else before. It was different then the love she felt for Lilly, her cat and her Grammy.

Smiling Cat was silent while Xavier talked to Alexx. She was proud of him. He had gotten over the feelings of jealousies and whatnot and was actually hold a conversation with Alexx. Smiling sweetly at Xavier she said “There is nothing for you to worry about Xavier.” Cat hugged him. “Alexx was just returning a book. He was the last person of the day and the truth is I was waiting for you to come.”

Romanticism is so last decade. But hey, people are free to feel and think whatever they want. That of course if they truly want it. This might be my cue to go, but I might as well leave with a bang. No, wait, not a bang... A seed. I will plant it, and leave, yes. Some other day I can come back and see if it grew. I would like to thing that is an evil deed, but actually, wether my experiment plant grows or not it will reveal them truth. In the end, I'm helping them and their relationship. Now, aren't I one sweet angel?

"Oh, but there IS something to worry about, Xav. And Cat." Rhett stood up from his chair and positioned his satchel into a more comfortable position. "See, Cat. I know you've been wondering the nature of my gift. I do know too you think I read minds. Truth is, however, I don't. I just happen to... acquire information from people around me." Rhett prepared his dread voice and gave Cat a softly menacing glare. "Facts. Truths. Secrets. Among other things"

He took a breath for a moment, if it were a tv series or a movie, some scary music would be playing now. Rhett loved playing these scenarios in his head with the dramatics it deserved. There was the possibility it might not look as menacing as he wanted to, but it didn't matter, he was confident.

"I don't think it surprises you, it makes total sense." He took a few steps back away from the couple. "The reason I'm saying this now is, well, that I know too, that you don't really love Xavier, here." He avoided looking at the boyfriend, Rhett was only looking at Cat. "I'm not saying you're lying, of course not. All I'm saying is what I know. And my extrasensory perception has never been wrong. So, you might want to... No, forget it. What you two do from here is up to you. Have a good night."

Rhett turned around and swiftly left the building, ignoring if either of them attempted to talk to him afterwards.

It wasn't the complete truth, but I didn't lie. Even if it appears like I did, I never actually said that it was my ESP who told me that she didn't love him, because well, it didn't. But it's my hunch, my experiment. I'll have to come meet Cat in a few days to see how it turned out. Yeah I'm definitely one sweet angel.
