Karashi frowned. She could definitely see why people wouldn’t want to hang out with him. His illness was the main reason, but she really didn’t think it was that big of a deal. She signed to him, her face twisted with the expression of confusion. That’s great that you hang out with your family. But why wouldn’t anyone want to hang out with you? You’re funny, energetic, and very sweet. If I were you, I’d consider my loss of hearing a gift rather than a burden or disability. She smiled at him as she led the way towards the very warm common room.
She signed to him again. That’s great that you spend a lot of time with your family. My father left my mother and I when I was little, so I never really got to know him. And my mother was always busy with work, so I never really got to spend time with my family. I’ve kind of been a loner for most of my life. She frowned. Her life was a sad one, one that she really didn’t talk about all that often. This was the first time that she had really opened up to someone, especially a stranger like Shane. This was new for her, which kind of surprised her. She hadn’t really expected to open up to someone upon meeting them the first day. There was something about this boy…
She giggled when he shook his head, causing his hair to fly in every direction. She signed to him. Well, I guess that’s a good thing. I would do that with my hair, but it’s too long and it might become tangled. That would be a mess trying to comb it all out. She frowned. Listen to her, talking about her hair as if he were a girl. She mentally scolded herself. She needed to stick to general things, and things that they both liked, not stupid things like her hair. She made sure that he was still walking with her, noticing that they were almost to the common room.
