Settling into a routine was getting easier now that she'd been here a few weeks. Though she wasn't sure if Brooklyn was settling in well or not yet since she never seemed to be around when Olivia was. Tightening her jacket around herself Olivia made her way down to the court yard. She was planning on taking a bus downtown for some lunch. She was in the mood to hunt down some small cafe for soup and sandwiches. Her change jingled in her pockets as she spotted a lone figure carrying an stack of books. Olivia interest was piqued. So far the only person she knew that would carry such a stack was her room mate Cat. The same girl she'd helped relocate books several times this week. Pausing for a few minutes the figure came closer and Olivia waved closing the distance. "Cat do ye be want'in some help carrying all of dhose books?"

When Cat heard about getting roommates she was not really sure about it. She did know that she had to move all of her books. She had first met the others when she was moving the books, and over the past couple of weeks cat had gotten somewhat friendly with one of them. Olivia, who was consequently a twin. Cat found the girl to be really tall and sort of really sweet. Cat was returning a stack of books to the library, or getting them ready anyway, when she heard someone in front of her. It was Olivia’s voice but Cat could not see her. She carefully nodded and said, “If you want Olivia, it would be helpful.” Cat hoped that she was not stepping over the boundaries.

Olivia was still forming an opinion of her room mates, to be honest she found Cat a bit odd. She couldn't understand the girl that 1. Always had her nose in a book and 2. Didn't own a cell phone. Seriously who in today's age didn't have a cell phone. But other than that Olivia much enjoyed the politeness and quietness of her room mate. She was a sweet girl.

Taking about half the books from her Olivia smiled at the slightly shorter girl. "We'd be headi'n to da library den?" The girl nodded and Olivia stepped out of her way. She hadn't quite figured out where the library was so she'd let her lead the way. "I wantend ta apologize if ma sister's music was too loud last night. I asked her several times ta be turn'in it down so it wouldn't be disturbi'n ya. She's not quite one for da listening though."

Cat nodded as Olivia took half of the books. She was able to see again. Nodding her thanks Cat replied to Olivia with, “ Yes we are heading to the library. These are actually going back.” Cat watched as the girl stepped back and let cat move in front. It was apparent Olivia did not know which way the library was. Cat had the other trouble. She had no idea where anything else was other then the library and her other classes Cat was indefinitely lost. When Cat heard Olivia’s comment about the Brooklyn’s twin and how she had played her music too loud. Cat shrugged. “ Once nine o’clock hits I am out like a light normally. I am a heavy sleeper so it does not bother me.” Cat carefully stepped over a very large rock, that is she had failed to notice, she would have tripped over and books would have gone flying. “ Thank you again for helping me with the books.” It was true that Cat did not have a cell phone or anything but she found that it was easier to talk to people face to face rather then over the phone. As much as she did not like talking to people she did not know Cat would prefer talking to the actual person then over the phone any day. Cat looked over at the other girl. “So how has Hammel been treating you anyway?"

Olivia was relieved that the music hadn't been a bother. She really didn't want Brooklyn or herself annoying their room mates since they'd be stuck with them until someone graduated or moved. Olivia noted the rock that was stepped around and was glad she'd stepped in to help. All these book really would have worn Cat out and now it seems, caused an almost horrible accent.

"Hammel's be'n alrigh'd. Dere's a few of dem boys dat dink cause Brooklyn an I's be dwins dat we be willen ta be doin' stuffs we ain't be wan'in ta. But we be use ta it, an yer gonna find dem at any school I be reconin'. Our Da says ye keep yer head 'igh an dey can't be brinin' ya down. Keep ya nose in da books an dey'll go aways. So I jus be waiti'n"

Olivia repositioned her books some and followed along patiently. "ey you be busy dis fer lunch. I was gonna head inta town ta find a small ca'fe ye want ta be joinin. Might find yer'self a new readin' spot. My treat?"

((lol please let me know if the accent get way out of line. I can either do a complete translation down here or just tone it back some. In general though most 't' are replaced with 'd's and the words... just sound them out. ))

Cat was trying to navigate to the library when she heard Olivia talking to her. She was trying to avoid the various rocks and footholds that sometimes tripped her up. Cat carefully stepped over a few holes and told Olivia “be careful.” Cat listened to Olivia talk with a heavy accent. It was a bit hard for her to understand but she got the general gist of it. “Boys can be annoying, and I just ignore them most of the time. It works out pretty well.” Cat nodded when she heard Olivia talk about her dad and her dad’s advice. “He seems like a pretty smart man.”

Cat saw the library up ahead. She was not sure just what would happen when they got there, but she did have a good time talking to Olivia. When she heard Olivia talking again she stopped and listened. She wanted to be sure she had caught everything. “I am fine for lunch, I was going to skip and read in the library anyways but I guess that I could join you. I don’t know exactly we are going to get into town though. And I was looking for a new reading spot.” Cat replied with a smile as she continued walking towards the building.

"Ya Da is a very smarts man. He dun raised Brook n I by em's self after, ma passed-way n all" Olivia got a bit quite for a few moments but chipper-ed back up quickly enough. Her mom's death was something she remembered far to clearly but her father was the greatest thing in the world and she wouldn't trade those bad memories for all the good ones she and Brook had with him.

Olivia grinned she had that all figured out and covered. "Da public transportation. Da bus will takes us down to da center of da town. Bes places can be founds abouts dere." Olivia spotted the building up a head and smiled. The library wasn't really a place she hung out with all the books she could find online but she still enjoyed them well enough.

Cat Listened to Olivia until she was done talking. She knew what it was like to lose a mother, but she had not a father there. She did have a grandmother though. “My grandmother raised me quite well after mom was gone.” Cat got a little sad but said with a smile to Olivia, “ She really was the best grandmother a girl could ask for.” Navigating her way up to the steps of the library Cat looked at Olivia. “ Public transportation is nice. It gets you just where you need to go. Where would we be going anyway? I am not that picky but I would like to sit down where ever we are going.”


Cat quickly climbed the stairs and deposited the books in the slot that was used to check books back in. She quietly made her way out of the library again and went to help Olivia,” Here let me put those back. Ill be right back.” With that Cat took the rest of her books and returned them. She quickly made her way back out to the waiting girl. “Ok I’m ready to go.”
