It was wonderful out, sunny, warm, with a light breeze blowing the scent of new flowers. Lani had no intention of being indoors this glorious day, and he didn't have anything important going on in class today. He was apparently not the only one with the idea but he sought out a secluded bench surrounded with tall bushes and flowers. He sprawled on the bench and turned his face to the sky smiling as the sun warmed his features. He pulled out his ipod, the old thing was so full of songs he barely had any room for more. Sticking the earbuds in his world faded into music and imagination. He stretched out and looked absently at his watch. Lunch would be over soon, and most of the diligent students would head in to class saving Lani a very peaceful place to lay. He raised his hands above his head then tucked them under his head pillowing it as he kicked his feet over the other arm of the bench.
He was wearing shorts for once in a blue moon and a neat collared shirt. Just because he didn't like authority and loved to be a thorn in the Hammel staff's side didn't mean he had to dress like a thug. If someone saw Lani on the street, they would think he was a well brought up young man, which was true, but only some of his mother's insistence stuck. Music soothed his eternally aching mind and the sun warmed him and he became very content with the situation. He closed his eyes and let his day dreams flutter about. It wasn't long until he lost all awareness from the world save the comforts it was bringing. He heard the birds for the first time in a long time, and paused to listen, this was really a glorious day. He blinked his eyes open briefly when the bell rang for class but ignored it. He simply wiggled deeper into the bench and closed his eyes. He wasn't sure when he actually fell asleep but after a while he drifted away into a much needed nap and oblivion from the world.
