The sun shone down on those in the court yard today, its warm glow drifting down into the field. The small puffs of clouds gently floating by, creating shadows that seemed to dance around on the grass. The warmth of the sun shone down upon Kevin, a meta human who today found himself bored and alone in the court yard. He had completed all the work he needed to, and was not really needed anywhere at the moment. so instead of walking around like a lost child, he sat down in the center of the yard. sitting cross legged he had his shoulder back next to him, full of books, and other usefull things.
With a sigh Kevin looked down, stareing at the sky for several minuets before. His eyes were full of the bright light, the it kinda hurt when he looked away. He rubbed his eyes for a second, to try and allow them to adjust to the light now. thinking for a second he thought that it might be fun to practice his power a little. Reaching into his bag Kevin pulled out a little battery powered lantern. Flipping the switch on, a small glow emitted from the glass jar shaped lantern. The artificial light gave off a false sense of security, one that Kevin could destroy.
With a smile he took out a small rubber ball. One that was black like it had been burnt or set fire to before. Gripping the ball in his left hand he focused, and began to throw the ball up into the air. With the lantern sitting in the grass, still alight, the teen focused hard. The lantern dimmed a little, and after a second the light left the lamp.
But the ball, the target, that was still being tossed at a rythemic speed was not glowing. He stopped tossing the ball as he noticed that instead of moving the light to the ball, he had moved it to his hand. From wrist to finger tips his hand was giving a glow from the light. Shaking as if a fire had started he paniced, which caused the light to shoot back to the lantern, then it shut off. He looked around sucpisoiusly, as if he had committed a crime.
