One is the boring-est number{OPEN}

Clarity sighed, taking in the overcast sky that somehow still let the sun through, and looking out over the courtyard with a feeling of dread. It being a Saturday, everyone was either sleeping in, doing something outside, or in town somewhere. It was the perfect kind of day to do her homework. Too bad she had finished it all.

And the dorm room was conspicuously silent, so Clarity was left to do absolutely nothing. Sitting in her room and writing in her diary was clearly not an option, as that would drive her completely insane if she did it for longer than five minutes. If only she had money for new clay! Or her mother would return her calls or at least listen to the messages. She'd tried calling her mother several times since Mother's Day, but she had been unable to even get the machine since Wednesday.

Trying not to concentrate on that, Clarity pulled her dark hair up into a high ponytail, changed into her shorts and shirt, and headed to the courtyard with a book. It wouldn't be much better, activity-wise, but at least there would be sound and movement that could keep her sane.

She picked a spot--for some reason nobody was sitting under the best shade tree--and attempted at reading Pride and Prejudice until her eyes started growing heavy. She rubbed her eyes and blinked, trying to avoid falling asleep in the open, at Hammel.
Who knew what someone would do to her in that position?
