Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most (Braxton)

The air was nice. Graduation was looming ever closer, but Sawyer wasn't worried. Some students were rushing around like crazy people trying to get things turned in on time or study as hard as they could for finals, but Sawyer wasn't that sort of person. School typically came easy for her. And her ability being a parlor trick ability as she called it, was fairly easy for her to master. Especially since now she didn't have drugs or alcohol effecting it.

Kicking off her sandals she ran her toes in the grass and laid under the passing fluffy clouds. Somewhere inside her, Sawyer was wishing that Rhys could be out here with her. The out doors, running, being active, seemed like something he liked very much and they never really got out together much. This was simply because it would expose their secret and cause far too much trouble for both of them.

Sawyer sat up on her elbows and looked around. A few kids had taken to studying outside. Some girls not far off were chattering away at what their plans were for after school. Then she spotted him. Her brother was walking along the path coming this way. Panic flooded her and she tired to come up with something to do that would get her out of having to talk to him. But her golden yellow hair glinted in the sun light and was recognizable from damn near miles away. Raising a single pale hand she waved to her brother and gave him a little smile hoping he'd just growl at her and stomp on by like usual.

It had been quite a long time since Braxton got out of his room to do something different than going to the library or a teacher's office. He just wasn't the brightest in the pack, but with graduation close, and knowing his sister was going to graduate, he just found himnself on the position of graduating too and attempting to have better grades than her. Which most of the time proved to be easy, but randomly enough, lately her grades were getting actually better, and so Braxton had to actually make a good effort to not stay behind. Never behind her, ever, he is used to tell himself whenever a comparison is to be made among the twins.

As it was a clearly good day, summer days already, he decided to take a breath from his English paper and just take a walk around the courtyard as he decided to either go to town to have a couple of beers or just stay on campus with a couple of cigarettes. Whatever worked to steam off some stress.

Oh but there she now was, he could already smell her as she approached with a fake smile. Is she high so early? Well there's no such thing as early lately... She waved. Should he wave back? No. He was going to ignore her. It was probably for the best, he just couldn't afford losing the mood, he had things to do. Yes, it's better to ignore her. Or...

He continued walking normally, not posing his eyes directly on her, not waving, not acknowledging her presence. She must be furious now. Yes, it's right there in the way she's walking. They were now nothing but two meters or so apart, each walking the same road in the opposite direction, as usual, and so, clenching his right fist a little, with his mind, he focused on her sister and attempted to push her aside with his power. Not strongly, no, it was just a small push not that different than passing right next to her and pushing her with her shoulder. See, sister? I am acknowledging your presence, no reason to be furious, right? He thought as he brought at smile into his face and continued walking normally.

He was so angry with her all the time!! She could see it in his face as he walked her way. Quickly standing from the grass she decided it was best to just go back to her dorm. But her dorm was in exactly the opposite direction he was walking. She'd have to pass him. She really really didn't want to. Holding her breath she started her walk that way.

Braxton wasn't even looking at her. Didn't give any acknowledgment what so ever to her. She was his own sister!! What had happened to him?? She boiled inside and her steps quickened and fell a little harder. Her sandals, back on her feet where they belonged, padded on the ground angrily. Her jaw was set tight as their distance closed in.

The light shove of his mind snapped her into awareness. It infuriated her!! She preferred being ignored to being shoved! Spinning in his direction she glared at his back. "What is your problem, Braxton?!" Her voice was raised and a little higher than normal. Her eye was still a little black and sore but she managed a sinister glare in his direction.

"Well YOU are! What would you think of that?" He stopped and turned around to hace her sister. "Why are you up? Are there any nightclubs open so early?" He got closer to her as he took a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from his back pocket. "I heard you're graduating, how's that going?" He took one cylinder, placed in his mouth and lighted it carefully, exhaling the first smoke in her face. "Getting on your knees a lot to get the required grades?" He laughed. That one had been a probably heavy joke, he knew it, but he didn't care. "Or to get your notes back on track you just go straight to business?"

Braxton placed the pack of cigarettes and the lighter back in his back pocket and took a second taste of the cigarette. If he was going to talk with her, he was definitely going to need the nicotine.

"What are you planning anyway?" He took a couple of steps away from Sawyer. "Your lazy ass is not going to college..."

She tried to get everything he said inside without flying off the handle. "What are you talking about Braxton?? IF you cared at all to EVER pay ANY attention to the things I CAN do you'd realize I've been one of the top students of our graduating class for the last four years." Swallowing she took everything one at a time.

"I AM doing something with my life thank you very much. I've been working my ass off for years trying to get into this dance school in California. And yeah... I fucking got in!!!! But I'm choosing to stay here to teach young kids to dance." She wanted to slap him upside the head with her dance rehearsal bag. But she was not the type to start a fight. And, alas... her bag was in her dorm.

Sawyer shook her head at him. "That's all I am to you huh? A looser who screwed up?? Someone who could never ever possibly change??? Well its you who isn't changing you selfish son of a bitch!! And for god's SAKE if you're going to smoke on campus do it in one of the hiding areas on the other side of the pond before you get your ass expelled only weeks before graduating!!!" She huffed and took the cigarette away and stomped it out on the ground.

She was irritating him so much, and when she took the cigarette off him, he had to hold himself from pushing her again, so he decided to bring another broad smile and exhale the smoke he still had in his lungs, once again at Sawyer.

"Right." He said while considering the thought and taking another cigarette. "I didn't know Hammelites were into erotic dancing. But you know what, I'm gonna go ahead and believe you on that California story for a second." He brushed his hair with his right hand as he kept talking. "What holds you here? You love Cali more than I do, you wouldn't just give up that opportunity, so what's the big excuse? You pregnant or something?"

"Stop it!" She wacked the second cigarette out of his hand. "seriously, you're going to get yourself in trouble." she may have constantly fought with him, but she wanted the best for him still. Sighing she looked down as he spoke to her. He was so mean!!!

Shaking her head, Sawyer licked her lips and looked at her feet. "It's not stripping!! And the only poles involved are actually called bars and they happen to be horizontal." He seemed like he cared even a little about why she wasn't going to California even if he didn't whole heartedly believe her about it. "Why do you even care, Braxton?" With a sigh she looked around and then back up at him. "Because I'm fucking clean for once Braxton and the thing that's keeping me from going to California, happens to be here. And NO I'm not pregnant!! Why do you have to be such an ass about everything?!" She rolled her eyes and thought about what Rhys would say if she were pregnant. the thought made her laugh a little on the inside. She didn't even know if he wanted kids. Hell she didn't even know if she wanted kids.

Braxton laughed uncontrollably a Sawyer told her 'being clean' story. He did not believe her a bit, but continued listening to her just too see where it was going. Nowhere interesting, Boo.

"So YOU are clean?" Brax couldn't stop himself from giggling after saying that. "Really? What other excuse would have to actually be clean if it's not pregnancy? Well look at me even considering that thought, I'm giving you way too much credit today. Consider it my graduation gift." Anxiety was starting to hit him and Sawyer wasn't letting him smoke, which was actually good, he could get expelled and so close to graduation, it was not a good idea, but what else could he do? He brushed his hair again with his right hand, hopefully she wouldn't notice his stress. "Soooo, it was, then, that you were in jail, right? Part of parole is staying clean and not leaving the state! Ooooh, of course! It makes perfect sense! I sooo have to call mom and dad and tell them this. You're good at hiding things, sister."

She blinked and looked incredulously at him. "Are you fucking insane?!" Anger was swelling inside her all she wanted to do was...go get a drink and just...do things she shouldn't be doing. She needed to see Rhys. Clenching her fists she let out a growl of frustration.

"You self centered son of a bitch! I was never in jail! You're lucky to not be in jail for all the shit you've pulled over the last few years. Like oh.. Pushing me out the damn window and almost KILLING me!! Maybe I should call mom and dad about THAT! Besides, Dad wouldn't care if I had gone to jail. You know as well as I do neither of them gives a crap about us!!! If something bad happened, Mom and Dad would pay to have it kept quiet then buy us things to keep our mouths shut."

Glaring at him she smiled. "speaking of keeping mouths shut, who's dick did you have to suck to pass your classes?" Sawyer folded her arms and grimaced at him. That would piss him off for sure. "Or was it that you had to be someones little bitch for a night." Yes... when Sawyer put her mind to it.. she was a very not nice person.

Now I'm self-centered... As Sawyer kept talking, Braxton was just losing more and more patience, he could actually feel his heart rhythm go up and the adrenaline rushing through his veins. He brushed his hair again, shook his to arrange it, and then brushed it again with his right hand while the left one never left his pocket.

"I knew you were spreading those rumors you crackhead!" In his head, he saw himself pushing her with his hands, it felt so good, it felt like it was what he needed to do, but instead, he took a step towards Sawyer and carefully placed his index pointing at the space between here eyes as close as he could get without actually touching her in a very menacing way. "You better shut up about that you disgusting piece of sister I happened to have. And you know, mom and dad actually know about the window incident, they also know you were as high as a fucking satellite." He took his hand back to his pocket and took a step back. "How do you think I got them to pay me the University of Vermont? I also made sure they would not give you any money in any way after school. See, they don't want their daughter receiving money if she is going to spend in those candies you like so much."

That pissed her off. "Braxton!!!! How- fuck- ERGGG!!!! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO GET REWARDED FOR ALMOST KILLING ME?!?!" She was screaming at the top of her lungs now not caring who's attention she got. He was so utterly ridiculous.

"AND THE RUMORS WEREN'T SPREAD BY ME!! MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE MORE CAREFUL ABOUT WHO YOU SLEEP WITH!!!!! Apparently he liked you so very much!!" She wanted to swat his hand out of her face but he moved in time. "You are the biggest prick I've ever met!! The only person in this world that you care about is yourself!!! That'll get you no where!! I'm better off without mom and dad's money. You'll never learn to take care of yourself. Braxton Carson, you will always be second rate to me... just you wait and see!!!!!" She spit at his feet and turned to walk away but kept her eyes on him over her shoulder.

If it wasn't because she immediately walked away after spitting in his feet, Braxton would have pushed her away after that. Yet, that didn't he wasn't going to do anything about it, and so, as she walked away, he took his cigarette pack from his pocket threw it a bit upwards in front of him. When it was just above his own face, he stopped it in midair, and instantly, raised its mass as far as he could, five times, before giving it the exact momentum for it to hit Sawyer in the back of her head.

"Don't get caught with that, sis!" He yelled at her before turning around to keep walking in the direction he was before. "Happy graduation..."

She turned and looked at the pack on the ground. How stupid. "Hey... thanks now I don't have to buy another pack!" She picked it up and stuffed it in the pocket of her shorts before pulling her phone out and dialing Rhys' number. Thank god he was back. She hadn't been able to make it to see him since he returned and now she REALLY needed to talk to him. "Hey, Braxton...." She turned and looked at him. "Try not to get into trouble okay?" She sighed and turned away as her phone dialed into Rhys' line, and walked quickly back to the building.


((Thought that was a good place to end things. Tense but not too tense yet. Btw.... I LOVE YOU!! You've done an amazing job with him!!!! Once I get another move figured out we'll have to do another. Unless you think of one first in which case just lemmy know and I'm totally up for anything!!! <3))
