JD continued to ignore Zac's commentary about Robbie as a "pornoholic," so when the Asian chose to point at his eyes all he did was raise one eyebrow before looking away. "He really doesn't understand, and you really, really don't need to show anyone. Anything. Ever." He glared at Zac and held up his newspaper to make his point.
He didn't miss it when Zac attempted to use the newer nickname on him again. "Yeah, I'll admit the food is good. Doesn't mean you're allowed to give me another nickname. One is more than enough." He was still dealing with the repercussions from "Clark Kent," after all.
"Don't be dumb, Zac. I know better than to accept any gift from you. All your presents come with strings attached. And yeah I know you can turn that into a dirty joke, I'm asking for you not to." He rested his hand on the newspaper again, though he didn't bother lifting it this time.
"No, you're free to like it, I was just wondering why." JD wondered if everything he said was going to be taken as a criticism. If it was, he couldn't really complain--he had encouraged the impression, really. "I agree with you there. I guess it's pretty good as far as accuracy on awkwardness. I can't remember if those two actually end up together or not," he said. "So I guess the vague ending is kind of appropriate."
He glanced over at Robbie, who seemed to have a naive look at relationships. "You don't just hook up with anyone you happen to think is cute. Well you might, but for some people it's harder. Like getting the other person to be willing to actually talk to you again, that's always a good thing." He shrugged.
When Zac grabbed his face and leaned forward, JD could feel his eyes grow flinty. He didn't bother with the newspaper, just clenched his fist. He looked carefully at Zac, not blinking, and spoke very slowly. "Move your face right now or I will move it for you. Don't test me." If this got any further down the path it was going, JD was prepared to punch the guy and run out of the house, laptop be damned.
He liked Zac. The guy had convinced him that it was all right to loosen up every once in a while. But sometimes he didn't seem to understand the importance of personal space or boundaries. JD was willing to teach him that it is not all right to jump any person who you happen to be around, no matter how much money you have or how beautiful you think you are.
"Now," he said when the whole mess was done. "What show do you want to watch next?"
