[Sam Mercer]

Sam's body temp was extremely hotter than normal to the point he couldn't stand it. He left his jacket at home which he never does because of his scars.

He hopped his bike could cool him off as he took off down the road. Sam drove trying to out run the heat the burning in his body He still was burning up so he stopped to take off his helmet, stupid but he didn't care he needed to cool down. He took off again pushing one sixty the wind pushing on his body. No matter how fast he went he couldn't escape the heat.

Sam looked around and around wanting to escape this torture. The large lake came into view and Sam looked for a place not too busy. He drove and drove till he found a quiet almost hidden rocky road.

Sam finally pulled off and made his way down to the lake. As he pulled up on the shore of the lake the cool air and the soft waves almost begged him to jump in. Sweat poured off of Sam as he pulled down the shore trying to get as much out of view as he could.

Sam threw down the kick stand and steeped off his bike. He pulled off his white tee shirt and leaned down to take off his biker boots when he heard a foot step behind him. Sam softly stood back up his back flexed lightly making the two big wing tattoos on his back move. He slowly turns around to face his guest.

Elva had walked the entire way there, her red hair bouncing in a thick ponytail behind her. The lake had better be at least cool enough for her to take a dip in and not freeze her ass off. Her feet crunched the gravel underneath and she could see someone with very nice tattoos on their back. She stood a couple feet away from them as they turned to her.

It was a male, someone she had seen around the Institute. She tried to put a name to the face, shifting her weight as she closed her eyes to think and think... “Sam Mercer? That’s your name right?”

She was wearing black shorts with a long black t-shirt and boots that went up to her knees. In the insane weather, you could call her insane. On her wrists, they stood out like a battle scene, she was a known cutter to her family, but they made no attempt to stop her for they feared their daughter. That was something she didn’t want for her family and hoped that her little sister would arrive soon. Maybe, if she was lucky, she wouldn’t get the gene for meta-humans and the rest of her siblings could live a normal life.

First thing Sam noticed was the red hair. Her beautiful red hair made his body heat rise even more. All he could think was wow. Next he noticed her green eyes and beautiful face. His thoughts almost completely left his burning body heat and fell onto her beauty. Sam smiled at her at the sound of his name.

"Yes I am Sam Mercer. I am very sorry to say that I do not know your name. I don't get out much."

Sam's eyes looked over the rest of her body taking in her beauty. His eyes noticed the fresh cuts on her wrist. He didn't care why they were there. He had his own marks. He looked at all the scars on his arms and his mind remembers why he was there as he felt the burning in his body.

He looked up to the beauty and wondered if she knew the danger she was in just being with him. Sam softly smiled up at her.

"Well I was just about to jump in for a swim if you care to join me."

Elva smiled and started pulling off her clothes, underneath was a bikini. It was black with skulls on her chest. She stepped past the handsome teenager and walked into the lake. It was warm, but no too cold either. She swam out a ways and popped up on the surface. “Why else am I here? But then, I didn’t expect anyone to be here. My name is Elva, but my friends call me Dove. Call me whatever you like.”

She didn’t think how dangerous this could for him, she could kill him, but she was in a too good of a mood to kill anyone, or even put them in a coma. “You know,” she said brushing her flame colored hair from her, “you’re pretty cute.” She ran her hands over the lake and gave Sam a bewitching smile.

Sam's heart started to race as dove removed her clothing. As she walked past him and went under water he quickly started taking off his boots. About the time she came back up Sam had his boots off and was dressed in nothing but his jeans. Dove came back up just as Sam started to take off his jeans.

"Well I could call you beautiful, sexy, amazing, tempting, wonderful, but for now I'll stick with dove."

Sam dropped his jeans standing just in his black boxers he was slightly unsure how dove would take it. He walked into the water and made his way out to dove, his high body temp heating the water around him. He moved till he was merely two feet from her and he softly smiles.

"umm I can explain why the water is so warm."

Elva grinned at him. “How exactly would I be tempting?” she asked lifting an eyebrow. He had a nice body, not too muscular or too skinny. She grinned even bigger as he was down in his boxers, she probably wouldn’t have minded if he had gone nude, but perhaps that would be a bit too far. Even for her likes, but he was rather handsome.

She stopped the urge from getting further from him. Blatantly flirting with him was one of the things she did when she hid that she was nervous, but she didn’t want him to run away just yet. “Can you? I thought it was from you being hot.” This made her turn red. It was the worst corny line that she had said in over a year.

Sam smiled when dove asked how she was tempting. Now how could he put this politely.

"Well when I first laid eyes on you I have wanted to undress you."

Sam smirked as he pictured dove and him nude with only water covering their bodies. He moved slightly closer the water around dove getting even warmer. Sam lightly chuckled when she stated that she thought the water was hot because he was hot.

"Well you are not too far from the truth but the answer will come in time."

Sam dived under the water getting completely wet. He swam around to behind dove and he slowly rose back out of the water only about a foot from her back. He softly reached out and ran his right hand on her right upper arm. Physical contact was his way of showing trust and flirting. He was more about action then words.

Elva couldn’t believe what she was hearing and she grinning when he said it. She watched that smirk of his and could only imagine what he was seeing in his mind’s eye. She heard him chuckle and decided that it was the most interesting sound she had heard in a while and he had been the most interesting person she had met in a while.

His type was up her ally, but her back went rigid when he touched her. She hoped he hadn’t noticed because his touch was nice, she could feel herself relaxing into him, seeing as he was only a foot away, his chest was completely inviting. She ran a hand through her damp strands and looked behind her and grinned at him.

“Let’s play a game,” she said quietly turning around. “Let’s see if you’re a fast enough swimmer to catch me. And if you win, you'll get a surprise.” Elva winked at him and took off. She had been the best swimmer in Washington and was pretty damn fast at it. She went underneath the moon lighted waters and swam to the far end, she knew that her hair stood out too which made this game even more fun.

Sam smiled a swimming challenge was just up his ally. He use to spend his whole summers swimming from pools to the Gulf of Mexico down in Galveston, Texas. His mom use to say his dad must of been a fish how much Sam loved the water.

Sam dove under the water so she couldn't see him, plus he always could gain speed under the surface. The only problem was he couldn't see more than foot or two under the water.

Sam popped up every now and then trying to find her bright orange hair. He would quickly dive back under darting at her again and again quickly gaining ground.

Finally he caught sight of her feet. He pushed with his last bit of air and power to swim up and grab Dove by her small slender waist. Sam poped out of the water holding her in his arms.

Elva squealed and got a mouth full of the lake water as he brought her up. She put her hands on his well formed shoulders and covered her hand with her mouth and coughed into it. She felt the liquid forming out of her mouth and dropped onto his chest and into the water. “I’m sorry,” she coughed beating her chest with a fist.

“Damn, your fast.” She remembered her previous words and looked into his handsome face. He wasn’t so scary up close, she had heard rumors about him being so mysterious and how many girls had liked him. She gave a grin. “I suppose you’ll want your surprise now.”

Elva leaned in and kissed him fully on the mouth, not hesitating, not pulling back at the last moment and running. She would’ve done those things had she not felt safe with him, within his arms.

Sam lightly patted Dove's back as she coughed up the water. When she said sorry Sam just lightly shook his head.

"I should be the sorry one not you. I didn't mean to drown you I am sorry"

Sam lightly rubbed Dove's back as he held her close. He really regretted not getting out more and meeting this beautiful woman sooner. When she asked if he was ready for his prize Sam was expecting anything but what he got.

It didn't take Sam long to get over shock as he returned her kiss with a little extra. He pushed back on her lips being a bit aggressive, at the same time his arms tightened around her. After awhile Sam let go a bit and broke the kiss. He still held her in his arms but now he was looking her eye to eye.

"Would you like to date? I really feel drawn to you and would very much enjoy seeing where this goes."

Elva was surprised when he pushed back aggressively, but maybe that was because he hadn’t been kissed for a while or so that’s what she assumed. She felt drawn to him too, but she didn’t answer him for a couple of minutes. With Sam being her boyfriend, his life was likely more in danger than ever to be around her.

“Sam, look before I answer, I just want you to know that your life will be in danger. I can literally kill someone with a single look if I so choose too,” she said. She put a hand onto his cheek and gave him a sweet kiss.

“That was just a warning. But the answer is yes, if your not already scared away that is.”

Sam surprised by her warning lightly laughed. He could only think of what she will think when he explains his power. He looked her dead in the eyes showing he had no fear of her.

"I would love to be with you and i do except but i must tell you one thing first before you say yes to me. I am not the only one in danger here. I can make non-living things explode just by the touch of my hand. That is why I have a very high body temp."

Sam doesn't loose contact with her eyes as he waited for her response. He would let her go if she cant take the danger but he hoped she would be the one to understand his struggle.

Elva smiled and hugged him tightly around the neck. He warm against the exposed parts of her body, she never wanted to let him go either. “I’m not scared.” Those were the three words she said to him, feeling him close to her, feeling her heart pound against the ribs of her chest.

She gave a happy sigh and looked out at the eastern sky, “I think it’s time we head back,” she said pointing out the sun rise. It was amazing how time flies when you’re with someone you love...?

That caught her, did she love him? It was certainly a connection at first sight, but she wasn’t entirely sure it was love. She gave him one last squeeze before carefully making her way out of the water and drying off with a black towel.

Sam sighed softly as Dove left his arms. He was very quick to follow behind as he stood there and watched her dry off. He looked around and notices his idiotic mistake. He has no towel or boxers to put on. Sam lightly chuckled.

"Looks like I'm going commando."

Sam picked up his clothing and walked to the other side of his bike trying his best to hide his lower half from Dove. His heart raced as he dropped his wet boxers and quickly put on his dry clothes. After completely dressing he turned to Dove to see how she was doing.
