Stepping back onto firm ground, Luke grabbed his suitcase and other book bag and headed towards a clear and less populated part of the airport, while he waited for Jen to pop on out from the tunnel that connected the plane to the airport. While he waited, one and a half million things came to his mind. First off, he was cramped, yet his adrenaline had been increasing every thousand miles they flew. And now, he was unstoppable. His mind was focused on finding his taxi, one of the two he'd called about ten hours ago or so. It should be there about now, waiting for both of them to get their things together and head on out. Hopefully he had enough room in his trunk to fit all of their belongings that they brought. It really wasn't his stuff that he was worried about, after he saw what Jen was bringing.
He looked up at the nearest television for the weather forecast for the day. From what he could tell, it was clear outside, but that didn't tell him exactly how warm it was. It was a known fact that the sun could indeed be deceiving, so he waited for the slides to switch to the daily and weekly weather predictions. Mentally computing the differences between celsius and fahrenheit, it was said to be about 68. Considering it was the middle of January, this was pretty darn good. Perhaps he wouldn't need his heavier jacket. As for the rest of the weekend, it looked to be pretty good except for an occasional evening rain Sunday night. That wouldn't be that bad, he hoped. The weather was never really too extreme in Greece, and yes, it was usually quite pleasant and sunny and blue, much to his liking.
Now all he needed was his belle of the weekend, and off they would go. From Athens to a boat that would take them out to his designated island. From there, the would walk and ride donkeys up to his yiayia's σπίτι (house). Okay, so maybe they'd get there by noon, but then they had an entire twelve or more hours to do whatever they felt like doing. This mini-vacation was the best to date upon arrival at Hammel. And he happened to be with one of the mostgorgeous wonderful people to share the experience with. This was indeed going to be a fun weekend.
