General Appearance: Though Tom tries his best to keep a well maintained appearance he fails at this dramatically. His hair is usually unkempt and rivals that of that of Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Though it is not bangs and for some reason he always has a hair that pokes up. His features are rather sleek and luckily he is cute. His skin is smooth and is free of the acne that plagues most of his age group. His physique is an athletic one and though his muscles do not bulge they are defined. He has a small gash on his left forearm from the episode he had first had when dealing with his powers. He has a very standard clothing preference, he usually sticks to black Jeans and Che Guevara apparel. His most defining feature is his gray eyes that he had inherited from his mother. He tends to hold his head down to avoid them getting noticed as for some reason when they are acknowledge he feels uncomfortable.
Personality: Tom is paranoid to a point that borders on annoying, he is skeptical of everything and within good reason. Because of his powers he tends to doubt people to the very core of their existence, but because of his intense skepticism he has inherited and intense patience that would put Gandhi to shame. He tries his best to remain calm, but has a tendency of being anxious and untrusting when dealing with anyone he is not familiar with. On occasions he will flip out, this is usually when someone pops out of the blue, during these times he usually shouts at whoever it is to go away, though once he realizes that they are truly living breathing beings he is overly apologetic and tries his best to maintain an everything is going to be okay mentality.

History
Thomas had grown up in the middle of the Bronx for most of his life. Though he lived in a bad neighborhood his mother did her best to shelter him and had even prevented him from hearing rap music until he was twelve (his playlist usually consisted of songs on radio Disney, and classical stations.) His father had been in his life until he was five, though he did not desert the family as his mother would usually tell anyone who brought the subject up, but rather he had been placed in an institution due to being diagnosed with schizophrenia. .
His father had always had trouble remembering things and he even thought differently than most of his family, but his mother had considered them quirky traits and loved both him and their son all the same. Luckily Thomas did not have the traits of his father, and this was much appreciated by both of them. Sadly these traits only got worse after Thomas had born and had escalated with every year of his life. The couple tried their best to sweep his antics under the rug and hide them from their son, but eventually he became aware of it.
It was three months after Tom’s fifth birthday that his father’s uncommon behavior had finally gotten too drastic for his family to handle. While he was watching cartoons he had glanced over to his father who was in the kitchen looking at him with a glazed look on his eyes. He smiled and waved at his father and continued to watch the power rangers. His father was muttering something under his breath and had grabbed a knife, considering his dad nothing more than a funny man Thomas remained oblivious to the oncoming foot steps of the knife wielding man.
It was finally when his father began cursing at him that he noticed the knife coming toward him. He screamed and placed his arm up toward the top of his head and felt the knife carve into the skin of his left arm. Luckily his mother was there to call the cops and pull him off of their son. Tom had never fully recovered from that incident and had adopted a somewhat reclusive personality because of it.
He did not make many friends in elementary school and this persisted all the way until middle school. He tried his best to make his mother happy and not act crazy like his father. It was at the age of twelve that he had first seen his mother break down and cry, he tried his best to console her, but she kept crying as if he wasn’t there.
He had decided from that day on that he would try his hardest to be happy for the both of them and though his outlook did not truly change he made sure to always smile whenever his mother was around and even when she wasn’t. During Tom’s second year in high school he had fallen asleep in class and had woken up to see a cat sitting on his teacher’s desk.
It was not the creature’s appearance that had raised him from his slumber but the yelling of the children around him, from what they were saying it seemed like the cat had appeared from nowhere. He shrugged it off and waited for the class to end. After a couple of seconds the cat disappeared, he had been dreaming about a kitten and considered this briefly, he hoped he was not hallucinating like his father. He looked at the children around him and then the empty desk and began to hyperventilate, for a couple of seconds he thought that the children in the room may not be real. When he had gotten home that day he looked at his mother who was sitting at the counter with a cigarette in her mouth. She smiled at him and gave him a hug.
It was then that he noticed the same cat that had popped up in class had popped up behind his mother. Frantic he jumped up and ran for the door. His mother quickly chased after him and caught the boy before he could get to far. “Mom there’s a cat... this cat…” it took him a while to explain but eventually he got the story across and they both stared at this disappearing cat. In a week the family was contacted by the institute and ever since Thomas was enrolled in the Hammel Institute.
Roleplay Example
He slumps down on his bed as he turns on his music he pushes his finger clockwise as he put his ipod on half volume “hm…hm…” He hears the expression of the music as it flows through him . He thought the best of classical music one of the only genre’s his mother found exceptable to listen to. For this he seemed appreciative sure he didn’t listen to rap or rock but neither of those were important or even comparable to the full on expression of classical music. It soothed him it calmed him It made him feel like there was a reason to get better to see his mother again..It been a year since he was wisped away by these hammeltin institute people.. at first he was afraid so afraid of what might happen to him to his mother for having a meda human son but after a few months he began to understand why he was brought there. They were trying to help him it gave him new light on the fact that he thought he was going crazy .Sure He’d still have moments of doubt wether this was real or something he thought up but didn’t everyone?
