The Basics
Name: Zoe Evelyn Autumn
Nicknames: None!
Age: 17
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Density control - Ability to alter one's body density to make themselves heavier or lighter.
Once she began to realize she had a sort of 'power', Zoe tried to understand it by reflecting her emotions into trying to use her ability. It began with her using it in her sleep, which is innocent enough, until she needed to replace broken mattresses on a weekly basis. The nausea is the biggest problem with her ability, and it causes her metabolism to fluctuate constantly. Although Zoe has gotten used to her ability for the most part, she still loses control on a regular basis. Zoe also tends to stay indoors when it's too windy or raining too hard outside, lest she be blown away or knocked to the ground under too much weight. It's a struggle, but Zoe tries her best to keep her balance and train herself regularly.

The Details
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? None!
Any Tattoos? None!
Any Scars? None!
General Appearance: Zoe's about five foot four, a tad shorter than most her age but never discouraged by her height! She has long flowing brown hair, layered slightly and matching her dark hazel eyes. (Although on occasion she likes to let her natural curly hair show.) Zoe's adorable kid-like features often lead others to disbelieve her true age, and in often cases lead to her befriending younger individuals than herself. Due to Zoe's ability to control her own weight, her true body weight is unknown even to herself, although she maintains a healthy weight most of the time. As for clothes, Zoe likes to spice up her appearance every now and again, while most of the time she's found in warm and neutral colors. Her favorite color is brown, as her brown hooded shirt and black jeans seem to fit her constant "autumn" wardrobe. Once and a while she'll sport her prized black leather jacket, a precious heirloom from her deceased older brother.
Personality: Zoe is a very.. complicated person. She might seem like your average 'happy-go-lucky' teenager, but that's her 'front' most of the time. It is a sad fact that she survives solely on social interaction these days, and without friends by her side she's quick to fall into a passive state of depression. Due to her many quarks and spontaneous mood swings, Zoe can be found in just about any social clique you can imagine. Although, that can just as well be her downfall, as she may have many acquaintances, she yearns most for a best friend.

History
Born and raised in Denver Colorado, Zoe Evelyn Autumn began her life in the happiest of family settings. She lived the American dream, the perfect blissful life of a full and successful family home. Marcus Autumn, her father, was a law professor that taught for many years at the University of Colorado Denver. Julia Autumn, her mother, worked for many years in nursing at the local hospital complex, before studying to become a veterinarian. Zoe remained incredibly close to her family, her brother Seth especially, who remained roughly 4 years older than herself, and was her idol in life. The two were thick as thieves, closer to each other even than anyone else, and for many years Seth was that important role model Zoe clinged to for strength. For many years the four of them spent a great deal of time together, whether it be family camping trips, attending Seth's archery and bowling tournaments, Zoe's soccer games and karate classes, or even the occasional weekends with movies and mall visits. Indeed, it was a happy life, as perfect as any person could ask for.
That was, until Zoe began to discover she had something to hide.
Just three weeks before her 15th birthday, Zoe had first felt slight symptoms of nausea and threw up sometimes after meals. The first thing that had come to mind was that she was becoming anorexic, and after prescribing medication for both her stomach and migraines, the problem seemed to go away; for a very short time. Continuing her life normally, Zoe kept her social and family life healthy, until the sickening feelings came back with a vengeance. Not only that, but she began to experience strange weightless moments, and other times when she felt heavier than a truck. It was strange, and as best she could Zoe tried to keep it a secret from her parents and everyone she knew. The only person she'd managed to tell was her brother, Seth. Many times he reassured her he would keep her secret, and whenever she'd thrown up or accidentally broken something, Seth would comfort and reassure their parents that everything was fine. Eventually Zoe began to have these strange occurrences whenever she went to Karate or Soccer, that's when it became harder to keep the secret. At a soccer practice one incredibly windy day, Zoe nearly was blown off the ground several times, and had to quit the team lest anyone find out why. At karate practice not long afterward, she accidentally broke a boy's leg when they'd been sparring, and landed a dent in the floor.
At that point, Zoe quit playing sports altogether.
One day tragedy struck the Autumn household, on Zoe's 15th birthday she went out to the movies with her brother in the afternoon, and the plan he had was to walk downtown and meet with their parents at a family restaurant and surprise Zoe with a family dinner party. The thing is, it began raining that day, and around the time the movie ended that's when the accident occurred. It was all so sudden, one moment the two were walking along the sidewalk innocently enough, the next moment a black Hyundai Santa Fe was charging out of control over the curb. Next thing she knew, Zoe was sent flying back out of harm's way; Seth on the other hand was rundown and died on impact. They said that it must have been a rear-end collision with another vehicle speeding out of control under the heavy rain conditions, but regardless of the reasoning, Zoe was devastated. If it wasn't for her 'power', she too might have been killed that day. Seth had tried to push her away so she wouldn't get killed, and she had survived by this and her ability. Many people were confused as to why she'd been sent flying so far, but upon her parents finding this out, they blamed her for Seth's death.
That's when the happy family portrait shattered to pieces.
Not even a week afterward, Zoe became aware of what gift she had been given, and for a time after that she considered ending her life right then and there. If her parents didn't want her, and her brother died because of her, who would want her? A small shred of hope came to Zoe the day she learned about The Hammel Institute, and when her parents were approached by representatives from the Institute, and without hesitation they demanded she leave. Just like that, they gave her up. Zoe was lost, scratched from the family tree in an instant. All those happy times they'd spent together, everything she had, was gone in the blink of an eye.
One life ends, another begins.
It's been nearly 3 years since Zoe was enrolled into The Hammel Institute, and over that time she's regained a sense of herself again. Depression set in for a time, but the recent months have brought her to a much happier state of mind. Zoe accepts that she's different, and she tries everything possible to keep herself positive. This place is now her home, and these people are her new family. Until the time comes when Zoe graduates, she'll be honing her skills and trying the best to get her power under control. What will happen next?
Roleplay Example
“Where exactly are you planning to go?” A bored young voice stated. It was a hot summer day, the wind was cooling and the cry of cicadas filled the air. “Anywhere. I don’t really have a plan.” A female voice replied, a sigh then followed those words. Footsteps of three people echoed over the dirt path, the wind blowing over the grassy fields in the distance. “If you have no idea where you’re going. What was the point of leaving?” The bored voice spoke questionably, persistent in finding answers for countless questions. The girl with long blue hair ran ahead and turned back to the boy and the cloaked figure. “Why can’t we just get a little time off?” She said, she smiled to them both, only the tall blonde boy seemed unsatisfied with this response.
“If you didn’t want to come, then why did you protest staying behind so strongly?” The cloaked figure turned to the boy, her voice was coarse and annoyed. “I told you, I won’t leave Nami. I will protect her with my life!” The boy said excitedly, only looking at the blue haired girl. “I don’t need protection! But if you want to go back you can. Kyoko and I will be fine on our own.” Nami said, her blue hair flew a bit in the breeze. The trio had stopped at a shop on the side of the road, they hadn’t eaten since the night before. “Come on Kyoko, why don’t you have one?” The boy offered the cloaked woman a bowl of pork noodles. The cloaked woman simply sat without an answer. The boy retracted his offer, then putting the extra bowl on the table. “Kyoko. You have to eat. I know you don’t like the taste.. but you have to.” Nami said, munching down on her salad. The angry women held no reply.
“Koluss, you gonna eat that soup bowl then?” Nami exclaimed, eyeing the bowl of noodles rapidly growing cold sitting on the table. Koluss passed the noodles while taking a bite of his meal. Nami feeling defeated, slurped down the noodles with ease.Once the trio had left the shop, dark storm clouds had appeared in the sky over the course of the afternoon. “It’ll be night soon, although I can’t tell if the sun has set yet because of all the clouds.” Koluss stated, walking next to Nami and ahead of Kyoko. Almost a few seconds later, the skies opened to a heavy rain shower. Nami covered her head with her hands, detesting to get wet by the rain. “There’s a place to stay ahead.” Kyoko said, as the three of them broke into a run following Kyoko now. As the three entered what seemed like a broken-in cabin, Koluss laid his massive sword against the wall. “Does anyone live here?” He said, looking around to the furnished home they had entered.
There were no lights on, and the place seemed dusty. Nami stood soaked in the doorway, looking around at the almost haunting appearance of the deserted house. “Night has finally arrived.” She said, looking behind her at the covered front window. With these words spoken, the cloaked figure reached up and pulled down the cover and hood that had hidden her from the sunlight. She pulled off the cloak to reveal her dark red clothes, her white hair almost lighting the room. Kyoko’s piercing red eyes seemed to break the darkness and made Koluss uneasy. “I think we should look around this place before deciding to stay here. We may just be unwelcome.” Nami said, looking around as if scanning the darkness for movement. Kyoko closed her eyes for a moment, although nobody took notice.
“I sense no life here. But there’s the smell of blood stained into every surface inside this place.” She spoke calmly, Kyoko’s eyes opened again and her face looked filled with disgust. “Should we really stay here then?” Koluss questioned, the woman’s words made him feel concerned. “I don’t know. But we should check around anyways.”The blue haired woman walked forward, approaching the steps then halting in movement completely. Koluss walked behind her, and looked at her curiously. “Nami? Are you alright?” Nami didn’t speak, her eyes were transfixed at the top of the stairs as her face turned pale. Kyoko angrily looked to the stairs, “Get away from there now!” Koluss looked back then grabbed Nami and pulled her back to where Kyoko was standing. Suddenly the top of the stairs began to rumble, the wood snapped and exploded from an invisible blow. Nami snapped out of her trance-like state, looking to the top of the stairs once again. “Did- Did any of you see that!?” She yelled, another crash shook the beams of the house.
“We need to leave. There’s something very sinister here.” Kyoko said, grabbing her cloak again. Koluss grabbed his sword handle, pulling out the massive blade and waving it before him. “We can fight this thing! Whatever it is!” Nami stood at the ready, Kyoko seeing this as an opportunity to get out some pent-up anger. Koluss looked hard but could see nothing, not even an outline of the assailant. The house rumbled again, only this time it was partnered with an ear-piercing screech. Nami covered her ears, afraid of the sound. Koluss covered his, Kyoko seemed ignorant of the sound. The three then ran outside, as the house began to fall apart. “How are we supposed to fight something we can’t even see?!” Koluss yelled, the three of them now drenched in the heavy rain. The rooftop of the cabin exploded upward, an invisible beast shattering the wood structure to pieces.
The ground shook, as a heavy impact hit the wet grassy field close to the building. Koluss looked to Nami, “Tell me where it is and I’ll chop it to bits!” he yelled, holding his sword before him in a battle-ready stance. Nami held out her hands, thinking to herself and looking around anxiously. “I can’t use fire in the rain.. ice is too risky as well.” Her eyes scanned the area, looking for any chance of movement. A heavy growling was heard over the rain, but it was too loud to be singled out. “I have an idea!” Nami yelled, she held her hands before her and clamped them together. Her eyes glowed blue with this attack, as her hands gave off a bright glow where her power was generating. She slowly pulled her hands apart, as water began to collect in a bubble-like orb held in her hands. Kyoko watched, as she tried to sense the hostile presence. More and more water collected, she spun around and fired the attack upward, more water spraying into the sky making the rain fall even heavier.
Nami’s eyes continued to glow, showing the attack had not ended. Kyoko turned and jumped into the air, as the ground began to rumble once again. A loud screech filled the air, as the attacker crashed into Kyoko and sent her flying into the broken cabin. “Kyoko!” Nami yelled, she stood her ground and Koluss ran over to protect her from a head-on attack. “Don’t mess with me!!” He yelled, the ground shook more violently than before as the grass was torn up by massive claws. “Get back!” Koluss yelled to Nami, he ran forward to slash at the creature. Out of nowhere, Kyoko jumped above the two and held out her blades in one falling cut. When she landed blood flew down on them from the air, Kyoko licking the blood from her blade and grinning. Nami’s eyes ceased to glow, as she had generated too much energy for too long and she fell to her knees panting.
“Nami!” He said, kneeling next to her and placing down his sword. Kyoko jumped around madly, slashing at the air and hoping to hit the beast. Blood was sent flying from wounds she inflicted on it, as the rain landing on the creature washed the blood off but created a large silhouette of it’s body. Nami got back to her feet, “I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about it Koluss.” He stood too, grabbing and holding his sword up again. “Kyoko! Heads up!” Nami called to her, she put her hand into the air and materialized her scythe. Kyoko stopped jumping about, as the ground continued to shake under the massive beasts’ stomps. Kyoko’s blades and body were covered with blood, blood that was taken from the beast and was slowly washing off with the rain. Nami charged her blade with electricity, and ran forward to the beast. Kyoko held out her blades and jumped high into the air. Koluss ran forward, yelling in anxious ferocity, as the three cut down the beast from all sides. Kyoko landed on the beasts’ back, delivering the final blow as it crashed to the ground with a deafening roar. Nami dispersed her scythe, as Koluss sheathed his weapon.
With the rain slowly ending, the three stood quiet in the darkness. Kyoko drew back her weapons, as the beasts’ body became visible. It looked like a giant lion, it’s face scathed and body ripped apart. Nami watched Kyoko, as she stood looking up at the sky in her beastly persona. “Koluss, let’s get back inside..” she said, her mind felt tired from that battle. Koluss agreed and walked back towards the cabin, Kyoko looking at Nami angrily. Nothing more needed to be said, Kyoko taking this as her chance to feed without limits.
