[/blockquote][/blockquote]
Name: Chloe Ariana Mack
Nicknames: Chlo, Mack
Age: 17
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers: Empathy--
She has the gift of empathy. She feels strong emotions of others, like hate, love, happiness or sadness, and anger. She’s still trying to train herself to feel other things, but mostly those are the ones she can pick up the best. She feels overwhelmed when she feels other’s emotions and has a strong desire to help them. Also, when she feels one of those emotions it is hard for her to control herself in that if they are intense enough, when she is around the person who is feeling that emotion, she often unites with them in their feelings. Its’ safe to say she has mood swings even when she isn’t pmsing. It can cause her heart to hurt or jolt. It often becomes all she can think about, especially if she’s close to the person she’s ‘empathizing’ with. A lot of the time it still happens whether she wants it to or not, but she’s learning how to control that.

The Details
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Any Piercings? None
Any Tattoos? None
Any Scars? A small scar on the side of her ankle from when she dropped a glass bottle and it shattered on her foot.
General Appearance:
Her hair's a dark brown. She likes to wear it down most of the time, in braids if she ever has it back. It's just short of being waist length. She has brown eyes and wears glasses for reading only. At 5'3.25'', 120 Lbs., she's a little skinny for her weight bracket because she exercises, often runs around the gym and takes long walks around the grounds of the school. She loves to eat healthy, even though she does indulge in chocolates every now and then. Her favorite color is maroon, and she sticks to solid colors instead of patterns and jeans when she isn’t in uniform. She’s never one to be flashy, and only wears lip gloss when trying to dress up. She doesn’t wear a lot of jewelry and her ears aren’t pierced, but she does wear a wristwatch on her left wrist.
Personality: She'll never stop defending a person she trusts and believes in. She'll always stick up for people who need her help and will never go back on her word. When she makes a promise, you can expect her to keep it. She hates lying, but she'll do it for you only because she doesn't want to lose your friendship and she doesn't want you to get in trouble. Once she has your trust, she won't betray it and will defend it even if she knows they're wrong. She's bull-headed. She's stubborn and impatient and hates losing a fight. She'll never back down on something if she wants it. She hates showing her weakness, she hates crying in front of others, so mostly you'll never see her do that. She pushes her emotions away and covers it with a smile, a laugh, a joke, anything to cover it all up and hide it under a rug. She's not afraid to fight back. It’s not that she doesn’t take ‘No’ for an answer, it’s just that she hates it when people say she can’t do something. She’ll do whatever it takes to prove you wrong. She’ll implode before she admits she’s over her head and needs help. Even though you probably never want to get on her bad side, she's usually quite gentle. She sees the need to calm a person down and she is pretty observant so she can say the right things to get a person to calm down. She uses her experience to help others when there's a big fight or something, or even when someone's stressed out or worried about something.
Except when it comes to talking about herself, she's very honest. She loves a good joke, but when she needs to be serious, she's pretty straightforward. She hates going around the bush, she just tells it like it is. Sometimes it kicked her in the butt, almost literally, but in the end she knows her friends respect her more for it. She's an awful liar, and as much as she tries to hide her feelings and emotions, you can just look at her face and know that something isn't right with her. Also, if she's ignoring you, it's a pretty good warning sign that something's up. She doesn't like it when people tell her bull shit. She needs people to be honest and open with her. She hates not knowing the truth. She's usually not the first to speak up, unless she's the only one being spoken to. She likes to observe the way people act and react to certain things, and she watches their face and their body language and listens to their tone of voice to get a sense of how their feeling and what kind of mood they’re in. She listens and observes before she speaks or takes actions.

History
Chloe was born to two happy, madly in love, young-adults. Her mom had her at the young age of twenty-two, only a year after she married her dad and two years after she graduated high school. But her mother was glad to stay at home and raise Charlotte. Her husband was the son of one of the best editors at Random Publishing House, and inherited everything, so they lived pretty comfortably. Her mother wrote when she had time, and her dad had a normal 9 to 5 job. They both loved Chloe very much and did everything they could for her.
They ‘trouble’ began when Chloe was just nine years old. She was very close to her grandparents (on her father’s side), and when her grandfather died, she was crushed. And so was her dad. And she felt her dad’s pain, grief and sorrow. She couldn’t stop crying, to the point she got terrible headaches and was unable to go to school for an entire week. She was afraid to leave her dad when he was still so clearly upset. The headaches got worse and her heart began to ache. At first her parents just thought it was figuratively, not literally. But one night, she began screaming and crying because she was in so much pain and out of breath that they took her to the emergency room to get tested. No one ever really noticed her heart-shaped supposed birth mark, but ever since her grandfather’s death, whenever a friend would get angry or upset or happy, she would feel those emotions and be overcome by them. At first it was weird, but it was getting to go out of control.
When she was fifteen, her parents showed her a letter of acceptance from the Hammel Institute. They thought it might be best if she go there to start over, get a chance at something new. They were confused as to why her daughter always felt so extremely about different things. It went far beyond a girls’ intuition and teenager mood swings, as she would come home with reports from her old school, saying that she instigated a fight or she was sent to the nurse’s office because she was breaking down in tears and sobs that were disturbing the student’s work. As far as they knew, it was very prestigious and she’d be able to have a lot of opportunities there. After a lot of disagreements, she finally left and went to the school. She’s met a lot of people, with strange powers like hers. She found out she’s not so different from everyone else and is no longer insecure about being at the school, even though she does miss her parents a lot.
Roleplay Example
Charlotte sat on the floor on her stomach, her history textbook and notebooks and three by five cards sitting in front of her. She twisted her pencil between her fingers and sighed. She had a test in three days she was studying for, but she was making flashcards to study just because she really didn’t have anything else to do. Studying and reading were her hobbies. She liked other things, but the bulk of her time was spent studying and reading and getting those good grades her parents liked to hear about. Actually, she hadn’t even heard from them since New Years. She knew they were just glad she was learning in a place where there were others like her—though to be honest, she had yet to meet anyone with the same Gift as her, or the same Mark. But still, being with others who were just as weird—possibly even more weird—than her, made it an equal play ground. She still had her bad days, but at least she knew what was happening when her heart felt like it would explode or she couldn’t stop crying, or when she felt extremely happy seemingly for no reason. She knew what she was, and she was proud of it.
She hadn’t told her parents anything about the recent events at Rochester. Why give them something extra to worry about? Besides, she was sure if they knew, they’d pull her out. Charlie needed Rochester. She belonged here, she had friends here, and she felt more normal here than anywhere else. Besides, there wasn’t anything her parents could do about it anyway. But Charlotte was smart. She knew this would only be the beginning of something very serious. Who could have done that to so many creatures around the world? It was very powerful magic indeed. Worry never did anyone any good, but she could feel a lot of the teachers were drenched with it. And if the teachers were worried, that said something. Charlie was given to thinking more about current events than past ones, and so studying for her History test quickly became more of a chore and less of something to do to pass time. But since April showers brought May flowers, they were more or less stuck inside. Some students went out, despite the rain, but Charlotte much preferred staying inside and keeping warm by the fireplace while keeping up her studies.
She shut her history textbook, and put away her writing utensils and other things, and took out one of her favorite books, The Secret Garden. Though a child’s book, she always loved the character development of the little girl Mary Lennox, and the boy who complained of a hump on his back. Warm and a bit drowsy from the fire crackling in the fireplace, she soon shut out all the other noise from other students in the background and focused on each word in the story. Ignoring the feelings of others was hard to do, but since no one in the room seemed to be feeling anything extremely passionately, she could focus on what she wanted to. Within minutes the world around her faded, and she was transported into Mary’s beautiful secret garden.
