General Appearance: Nigel was blessed with near supermodel features. He has a strong jaw-line, but also a slightly slender neck that negates the potential “jock” appearance about him. Serious, deep-set eyes make a stare from him rather piercing, but when the occasion comes for him to smile the glint within them fades temporarily.
Being of aristocratic origins, Nigel has a very fine taste in clothing and style. His wardrobe is only medium sized but clique and very much “European” in nature. Fine jackets, suits, scarves, ties, and belts are his usual fashion; even when he dresses casually, he never wears jeans. Not a single pair of jeans in his closet. He also holds himself in a manner besetting these clothes, and could easily make money as a model if he could even be bothered, which he isn’t.
Personality: At first meeting, one would immediately feel a sense of superiority around Nigel. Partially because this attitude is a tiny bit well earned; the man is both brilliant and handsome. However, he tries quite hard to downplay this bearing, since his desire is to guide and teach others after all. Aristocratic, tasteful, and ever the perfect gentleman (upon intent at least), Nigel can be quite the charmer despite his other traits.
Nigel always seems slightly tired. Because his power is so heavily linked to his imagination, it is taxing upon his mental endurance. He suffers from headaches, which make him cranky, and fatigue, which makes him seem ever so slightly bored with the world. This is far from the truth, but there is really no avoiding it (that doesn’t stop Nigel form drinking massive amounts of tea while trying, mind you).
Passionate about art and the things he enjoys most in life, Nigel can come across as intense and even abrasive at times. This seriousness is more earnestness than anything else, something a person would see after getting to know the man more.
Finally, despite his obvious aristocratic personality, Nigel hates/refuses to discuss his actual aristocracy. In terms of wealth and titles, he is extremely humble to the point of embarrassment.

History
Nigel St. John Hobart was born the eldest son of the 10th Earl of Buckinghamshire. Although it sounds all high and mighty, the Earldom of Buckinghamshire is of minor aristocracy. Nonetheless, they have substantial wealth, land, and a position in Parliament.
Nigel was the child the played with the servant’s children rather than those of fellow aristocrats. He had a wild imagination, always creating worlds for himself to pretend to be in, imaginary friends, and “wondrous creations.” He was always so full of energy. When his blood tested positive for mutation however, Nigel was enrolled into the Kocher Institute, the European equivalent to the Hammel Institute. There, his love for art grew, using his imagination to become an excellent painter. His powers, which allowed him to create objects out of pure energy, were enhanced by his artistic touch. By the time he graduated high school, he had near full control over his powers, and a prime example of Kocher’s excellent program. With no surprise to others, Nigel elected to stay at the Institute; he’d become distant to his aristocratic family back home in Buckinghamshire. His passion for art fused with his role as a trainer, making Nigel the ideal candidate for his alma-matter’s Art Teacher.
Recently though, things have changed. Nigel’s father died of heart failure, and the eldest son was called home to take up his duty. The mutant felt broken. He hated his role. He hated the responsibility. He had no time for his art, plus he had to hide his beautiful gift that was his power. Nigel then did something that shocked everyone: he gave forfeit to his title, relinquishing it to his younger brother George. The weight of the world was off Nigel’s shoulders, but the shame and embarrassment of being what he was still was present. Nigel wanted to leave England, even leave Europe. He was granted a transfer over to the Hammel Institute, were he also requested that his title and family history be kept known to only those that really, really needed to know. He now awaits to resume his old job, albeit in a different land completely.
Mutation
Nigel can create multicolored energy (concussive in nature and exists in a plasma-like state). Using this energy, Nigel can create “constructs” or actual, physical objects out of his energy. Their complexity depends on the amount of focus Nigel puts forth; the more complex, the more taxing it is. Since his power is linked directly to his imagination, side effects involve mental fatigue and headaches. Because of the nature of the power itself however, the energy works as fuel to keep Nigel going; essentially, he is constantly tired, but fines it difficult to fall to sleep.
Although theoretically there is no “limit” on how much energy Nigel can create, anything using more than 4x4x4 cubic feet of the energy in volume is enough to break Nigel’s focus, cause severe fatigue, head pain, and even potential loss of consciousness.
Beyond that, the only other limit is Nigel’s imagination. As an artist, he crafts his energy as if he were painting in the air, his creations typically beautiful in nature. He prefers not to use them as weapons but more as tools or works of art. He can, however, cause concussive blasts using his energy as a last resort.
Roleplay Example
The room glowed and sparked as Nigel weaved his art, his hands sweeping through the air like both a conductor and a painter. In respect, both were accurate descriptions. Before him was a floating masterpiece, a three dimensional construct of a human head. Unlike a hologram, the head shimmered with light, but appeared solid in nature. The colors were not realistic in the slightest; every color imaginable flickered off the glowing white-ism mass that was the energy, crackling, flowing, and forming at the will of Nigel.
Sweat dripped down his brow. Powers did not come without payment. Fatigue began to settle in as the finishing touches were crafted. With a flick of the wrist, Nigel sent the bust spinning in a circle around its neck, slowly, and marveled at his creation. He was alone in his studio; yet viewing pleasure was not the mere purpose of Nigel’s work. It was for his simple benefit. He simply enjoyed expression. The inhuman nature of the woman’s appearance should have hid the humanity in her, but it didn’t. Each spark of energy simply added to her character.
The telephone rang, and Nigel’s eyes were torn from the face. He should probably get that. With a last longing gaze, Nigel walked forward and made a clapping motion, trapping the face in his palms, smashing it like a bug. The air was warm as the energy dissipated though the room. Such was the purpose of art as well; to be created and coveted forever, or to be made only to later be destroyed, like an idea. Nigel crossed the room, and picked up the phone….
