The Details
Hair Color: Wavy and blonde
Eye Color: grey-green

Any Tattoos? Nope

General Appearance:
In her personal opinion, Madi is rather average looking. She stands at a fair five feet and six inches, not quite tall but not short either. Her figure is rather slender, more petite and delicate than most. Her blonde hair is curly and goes down to the middle of her back, usually pulled up into a pony tail or messy braid. She doesn't really fuss with her blonde locks, since there's simply too much to do to worry about appearances. Out of everything, she likes her eyes the most, mostly because they are a rather interesting color, leaning more towards a gray than a green.
Usually Madi is too uncaring to wear make up, preferring to go natural. When she does get the urge, she'll put on a bit of mascara and some light colored lip gloss. Besides that, she doesn't truly care. She isn't all that concerned with how people see her, since in her mind, she thinks people should focus more on what's within than the outer image.
Her wardrobe choices lean more towards casual, with t-shirts and jeans galore permeating through her closet. She leans more towards band shirts and blouses on a day to day basis. She prefers shirts that flow rather than those that fit snugly to her body. She has a few pairs of ripped jeans hidden away, but usually she wears skinny jeans. When she has to get dressed up, she has a select few sundresses way in the back, out of the way of her usual wardrobe.
Personality:
Madi is the normal girl next door. Wholesome, a bit quirky at times, but overall someone that people can relate to and talk to. She's sweet tempered most of the time, with a shy little smile and a somewhat mousy disposition. She was the nerd in middle school, her nose always hidden behind a camera lens when she could get away with it.
Madi sees the world through her camera. The good, bad and the ugly are all revealed through her lens. With a click, she can see the beauty in the ugliest things and reveal the horror in the most perfect of specimens. She feels like she can see things that others simply pass by when she looks back at all the pictures she's taken. Her life in pictures shows her personality. Her camera means everything to her.
Unfortunately, when not behind the lens, Madi is painfully shy. She's not very brave and is somewhat of a pushover. She's quiet and really shy, but will start conversations if something catches her eye or she feels like someone needs help. If someone asks her to do something, she'll do it without much of a fight just to avoid conflict. Madi just doesn't feel like standing up for herself because she doesn't want a fight. Arguing isn't for her, so she bends over backwards to keep everyone happy.
Aside from her shyness, Madi is pretty smart. She managed to skip a grade back in elementary school, making her a year younger than most of her classmates. She actually likes school, and learning comes easily to her. That's one of the reasons people bully her into doing their homework.

History
Madison was born in Atlanta, Georgia in the summer time to a set of parents who had high expectations for her. Her mother was a lawyer, her father a doctor. They expected her to follow in their footsteps, either going to Harvard or medical school when she got to that age. She was a fast learner, learning her letters and numbers far ahead of the other students in her preschool class. Her parents were pleased, but it soon became apparent that their baby girl wasn't all they had dreamed of.
As she grew, Madi became a shy introvert, becoming eternally attached to a small digital camera her aunt had given her on her seventh birthday. She was the girl in the corner, her eyes hidden behind the lens of the camera as she snapped picture after picture of her classmates, learning much of human nature by simply seeing life through her camera. Her parents weren't enthused that she wasn't as extroverted as they had been. They wanted her to try out for sports teams, be on the student council, be in clubs. Madi was content to sit back and watch, snapping picture after picture.
The other kids always found her a bit odd, standing apart, never wanting to play with them. They started to push her around, bully her into doing things for them. Madi just let it happen, too shy to say no. It continued through high school, and she simply continued to let others control her, not wanting an argument. As the years went by, more and more photo albums began to pile up in her closet, chronicling her life in each snapshot.
Last year, her parents pestered her about getting into Harvard or Princeton or Georgetown, and truthfully, Madi didn't want to go to any of those. She wants to be a photography major, though she has yet to tell her parents. Against their wishes, Madi won a couple scholarships which she used to get into the small college in Pilot Ridge, though she has started the law program as a cover as she plans to double major. It's the first thing she's done for herself, and she's excited to see it through.
Roleplay Example
You can look at Ariana Simone or Dante Herondale, but here's something from another site. :3
Glistening sunlight beamed through the high windows above, splintering into rays that spread their fingers through the first floor of the quaint bookstore. Illuminated in the afternoon sun was the most interesting sanctuary of books, three levels of text for the citizens of Haven to enjoy. All around, people of all ages were milling about, searching through the tomes for the book of their choice. This wasn't the run of the mill bookstores, the generic Barnes and Noble or anything similar. Inside lay the books lost to the background, the classics, the lesser known volumes, a few rare original texts that had been previously lost to time. It was a haven for lost literature and attracted those of more unique tastes. Maybe it was the fact that the owner was so unique that the store echoed her personality.
Marisol Santiago had lived in Haven City for decades in her reclusive store on Syder Street. She had a room built in the back for those nights where she simply wanted to relax and read until she fell asleep. Many didn't even know she had a small apartment further into town, the woman spent so much time in her shop. Inkblots was Marisol's pride and joy, and it wasn't unusual to see the owner strolling down the aisles herself, either browsing or helping customers find what they needed. A friendly, kind soul, she simply glowed with bright energy that could brighten a room. Nary a soul had ever seen a frown on her face. She simply had a reputation of being the local shoulder to cry on or the one people could come to as a psuedo-therapist. Everything about her seemed to relax most people.
Today was one of those not so rare days when Marisol took to strolling down the aisles of the second floor. One of her employees was manning the checkout, so she didn't need to worry about that. Instead, her mind was on the books, her fingers stroking over the delicate spines like one might caress a lover. Bare feet slipped across the floor as she walked, tribal tattoo bare to view around her ankle. Marisol rarely wore . It was one of her many quirks. She waved a greeting to some of the regulars, teeth flashing a pleasant smile.
"Need any help picking out a book? Not that you need it, Samantha." Marisol smiled as she approached a middle aged woman who was browsing, a sense of familiarity between them evident. Samantha had come into Inkblots once a week for the last few years. Marisol loved giving her suggestions on new books she got in.
Samantha smiled, leaning over to give the petite shifter a hug. "No help needed here, Sol. I already got something in mind. How's business been?"
"Oh, you know, same old, same old," she replied, shrugging lithe shoulders as she glanced up at her. "Business has been at a regular pace lately. Not many new customers, but I haven't lost any, either. I have to give it to you regulars, you help me out and keep me open."
"Oh please, this place is great, Sol. Don't doubt that," Samantha placed a kind hand on Marisol's shoulder, smiling down at the woman. "Unfortunately, I'm in a bit of a rush today, so I'm gonna go find what I need and get out of your hair."
Marisol chuckled good-naturedly, nodding her head. "I'll see you later, then. You take care now, you hear?" With a wave and a friendly hug, Marisol went on her way, continuing to search for any other lost soul in need of a little guidance from a literary expert.
