The Basics
Name: Summer Rain Accurso
Nicknames: None
Age: Twenty-nine
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Biology Teacher
Powers:Solarkinesis: A unique ability, this power allows Summer to harness energy from the sun and release it as her own. For instance, she is able to soak in the energy the sun provides and release it from her body in the form of a hot, white fire. She is also able to release the solar energy in projectile beams that are capable of reaching up to fifteen feet. The fire and beams are capable of only causing severe burns, but death is possible if exposed enough. Fortunately, Summer is able to do more than cause destruction with the power. With the use of Solar energy, Summer is able to affect things that need the sun's energy to thrive, such as plants. By infecting plants with solar energy she is able to cause them to grow by speeding up the photosynthetic process. However, she is not able to manipulate the plants, just cause them to grow.
Side Effects: As with every power, Solarkinesis does have it's side effects. Such as frequent headaches and fatigue. Along with dizziness and fainting spells when harnessing too much energy. And, of course, her ability is much weaker at night when the Sun is covered up by the moon.

General Appearance: Growing up in pretty conservative home, Summer still retains the humility and low-key style she was raised with. Meaning, although she loves to wear her skirts and form-fitting clothes, she does so without being overly-sluttish and remains a certain degree of tact while doing so. However, you are more likely to catch Summer in a pair of jeans and a comfortable shirt. Unlike most women, Summer doesn't feel the need to show off her curves, especially since she doesn't do much dating. So, being that she doesn't have any one to impress, Summer doesn't see the need in getting all gussied up. Unless, of course, she is going to some special event; Summer is quite known for extravagant get-up when it's time for a formal party. It's something she gets from her mom. That, and her love for shoes. Call her the cliché female, but Summer loves expanding her seemingly infinite collection of shoes. So whether be a pair of jeans, a skirt, or dress, you can expect Summer to have on a pair of nice shoes.
More than her apparel, people seem to notice Summer's height before anything else. Being of Brazilian descent, Summer has the long, wavy tresses and tan colored skin that would make one think she just stepped out of a magazine. Sadly, this isn't the case and Summer just finds her height to be awkward. In fact, she finds her whole appearance to be awkward. Not that she finds herself ugly, she just knows her looks are a lot different from those around her. However, Summer is starting to accept her different looks and no longer feels timid when she walks into a room. Still, awkwardness is sometimes evident in her eyes when she starts to feel uncomfortable with herself. Something she tries to hide from both friends and students.
Personality: Friendly, quirky and maybe even a little loud, Summer is what most would consider a genuinely nice person. Although she has her days like everyone else, you will almost certainly find this woman with a smile on her face. Ever the optimist, Summer is the girl who sees the glass as half full. Even with the cards stacked against her, Summer will still find something to smile about in the most dark of situations. Her optimistic ways allows her to relate to her students, and she is always more than willing to help them out with their problems. Especially since she was never able to have children on her own – her mothering instinct has kicked in over the recent years. Summer has always had a protective and caring nature about her, but these traits have been brought out the more she spends time working with children. Yes, Summer is the extremely nice teacher who treats all her students like they were her own kid.But although she is nice, Summer is still what some would consider strict. So that means if you thought you could get by in her class by just showing up, you were WRONG. Summer is a firm believer in hard work, and she expects her students to be the same. That means you can expect quite a bit of homework.
Summer may be kind and motherly to her students, but she has a problem connecting with her own peers. Summer has always been a bit of a loner – preferring to read alone in her room instead of going out. However, her meekness and anti-socialization with people her age has only increased since the death of her husband. Summer doesn't feel the need to make many friends, and her students are the only reason she is somewhat sane today. So I guess you could say that it is safe to say that Summer lives through her students. Without them, well, she would just be a total mess. Which is why she treats them with respect and cares for them deeply – they are the only thing she has left in this world. Them, and alcohol. Though she has yet to admit it, Summer has a bit of a drinking problem. For a couple of years, Summer has drank herself to sleep for most nights. The addiction started with the death of her husband, and she has been unable to wing herself from the substance since. Fortunately, she has been smart enough not to let anyone see this side of her...especially her students.
Overall, you could say Summer is a very complex woman. She is not your typical good girl, but she is what many would consider real. She never tries to pretend to be something she is not, and she knows that she is not perfect. Unlike most, Summer accepts all her faults and realizes they are just a part of who she is. As her favorite saying goes, ”I am perfectly imperfect, and that is perfectly okay with me.”

History
Summer was born the first and only child of Bill and Marie Accurso. The duo met in college, instantly falling in love. As the cliché would have it, they both graduated and instantly started their life together. Being education majors, they both found themselves with teaching positions, getting married shortly after. With their 'perfect' American life, both felt it was time to start a family. After several months of unsuccessful attempts, Marie finally received the news she had been waiting for. Nine months later, and Summer Accurso was finally here. All was well, and their only daughter was seemingly normal. Summer would officially become the missing piece to their puzzle. In fact, Bill and Marie could have not been happier.
For the Accurso family, life was pretty good and the next few years went by perfectly. However, Bill and Marie started to notice some oddities in Summer's behavior. For instance, she never played with any of the kids and she spent every second she could outdoors. Still, there was no real cause for concern; she was only seven, after all. But as time move forward, Summer's behavior continued. It wouldn't be until Summer turned twelve that they would find out that their daughter was a meta-human. Ironically, it was quite a normal day when Summer was outside doing her homework. She was doing math – her most hated subject, and her frustrations was growing over the problem. Well, her anger got the best of her and before she knew it, her papers were glowing in almost a white fire before they disintegrated into nothing. Needless to say, the small display of power more than freaked the twelve year old girl out. Not to mention her parents who were watching from the kitchen window. Then, before Summer could fully understand what was going on, there was a recruiter at her doorstep and she was being sent away to Hammel.
At first, Summer was more than scared of what was going to happen at the institute. Not only that, she was afraid of her own abilities. But alas, there was nothing she could do about it, so after several days of pouting and crying, Summer began to accept that she had to stay at the institute. Accepting her fate proved to be useful, because Summer instantly began to improve her power. Did she have control over it? Not in the least bit, but she was at least improving. Sadly, the institute did nothing to help with her social skills. Summer was still the same loner she had always been; even more so now that she was growing into her physical features. At the age of fourteen, she was already 5'9 and taller than most girls and even some guys. Being insecure, Summer chose to do what she loved most: read a good book under the comfort of the sun. The sun, being the source of her power, made her feel at home and was the one constant thing in her life.
Years passed by, and Summer was now ready to leave Hammel and go out into the real world. With her power now under control, she was ready to head off to college, which she majored in Biology. In college, Summer met a guy named Kevin Love. The two instantly hit it off, and were practically inseparable as friends. Though a trip to South America would change that. It was a student trip to study the rainforests' of Brazil that Summer and Kevin realized that their love for each other reached passed that of friendship. When they returned to America, the two decided to test the waters a bit and start a relationship. To Summer it proved to be beneficial because it allowed her to break out of her shell a bit more; Kevin made her feel as if she could do anything. Much like her parents, the two eventually married after graduating college and constantly moved around to study the world.. It was the perfect life for Summer, besides the fact that she had yet to reveal that she was a meta-human.
For years Summer hid her secret from her husband. In fact, she had almost abandoned using her powers all together. One day, however, she and Kevin had got into an argument about having children. One thing led to another, and Summer had accidentally released a fair amount of Solar energy and managed to reveal her powers to Kevin. Needless to say, he wasn't too happy about his wife keeping such a huge secret from him. Without so much as another word, he left the house to clear his mind. That day would prove to be the worst day in Summer's life. While out driving, Kevin ran a red light and crashed into another car – he was killed instantly. Summer blamed herself for his death, and she moved back next to her parents, needing to be close to someone she loved. And after a year of self-loathing, Summer decided it was time she attempted to move on with her life. Not wanting to travel without Kevin, Summer decided it was time to find another way to put her skills to use. So, going back to the place that was like a second-home to her, Summer managed to get her a job teaching Biology at Hammel Institute. And for the past six-months, she has been trying to improve the lives of her students, while trying to rid herself of the demons of her past.
Roleplay Example
The slender woman stood on top of the bridge, her body seemingly frozen as the rain continued to fall down around her. The scene would have been one of beauty or sadness, if a sadistic look was not plastered on her face. You see, the woman -- no, the demon loved the damage she was causing. Yes, the storm was of her own doing and she enjoyed knowing that it was her causing harm to the innocent people below. The demon, otherwise known as Natalya, had always despised the human race, so it was no surprise that she was taking her anger out on them. Then again, she tended to punish them even when she was feeling content. In her eyes, mortals were nothing more than disposal items, so she could care less about who she was hurting. Natalya let out a chuckle as she watched a car slide into another, causing an accident on the bridge. If she was lucky, there would be at least one fatality.
With a raise of her hand, lightning began to touch ground, accompanied by the sound of booming thunder. What had begun as a heavy rain, was now a full-blown storm. It wouldn't be soon until conditions became a unbearable, forcing people to drive a lot more reckless than usual. Natalya frowned a bit; she supposed she should be doing something a bit more useful, but this was just more fun at the moment. Besides, all answers to her father's killers had come to a dead end. It wouldn't be long before she would be forced to seek out a Seer. She hated Seers' with a passion, mainly because like all demons, they came with a huge price and only looked out for themselves. Which would be fine any other time, but not when Natalya needed information. The demon sighed, she didn't have time for this!
Looking down, Natalya briefly wondered what was happening in the Underworld. She hadn't been down below in weeks, but the place was in utter turmoil. Since the vanquish of the Source, every evil being found himself worthy of the position. As for Natalya, she had no interest in the position; however, the power of the Source was a little tempting. Still, she didn't have the energy for all of the drama in the Underworld. Chances were she would end up wiping them all out with a tornado for getting on her nerves. Anyway, the Source was known for one thing: dying. In fact, getting vanquished is something they all had in common. Shaking her head slightly, Natalya focused her attention back on the damage her storm was currently causing. "Pathetic," she spat out as she watched the mortals below struggle. Maybe this wasn't a waste of time after all...
