General Appearance: People say "Never trust a skinny cook" but in Sakhmet's case this saying isn't at all applicable: for someone who spends so much of her time in the kitchen she's amazingly slender.
With long blonde hair that falls almost to her waist and a preference for loud make up it is unlikely anyone will ever mistake Sakky for a tomboy. Even her clothing choices, while frequently flashy, are undeniably feminine. She rarely is caught in pants; if she's not in a dress or skirt then she'll pair certain longer tops with leggings. And you can forget trainers; she's a high heels girl all the way.
They aren't glamorous but she wears glasses. Sometimes she'll use contacts but she finds them uncomfortable to wear for extended periods.
Personality: Sakhmet is at heart the embodiment of feminine virtues. She provides both emotional support and food to her loved ones, cleans house, loves make up and dressing up and the color pink. Above all else she wants the people around her to be happy and taken care of, particularly her family, her friends and her customers.
She's easy to get along with, frequently deferring to other people when it comes to making decisions. Some people mistake this for an inability to stand up for herself, but as anyone who knows Sakky is aware she's definitely not a push over. When something is important to her she'll make her opinion clear, and in those cases she's as immovable as a mountain. Usually these instances of stubbornness are associated with the (perceived) well-being of her siblings, as they are her highest priority.
She can take care of herself -- with five brothers she's had to learn to speak up for herself or get run right over -- but that doesn't mean she likes it. She'd much rather have someone to protect her and speak up for her in exchange for her own brand of maternal care. In her mind, the words independence equal being alone, and that idea terrifies her. She doesn't know how to operate without her large, close family and she dreads the day all her brothers have families of their own and no longer need her.
Her idea of caring for others means making sure their physical and emotional needs are met, not smothering with worry. Life is too short to spend time worrying! When she finds herself in a position where worry eats at her (for instance, when hearing about Horus' troubles) then she'll take it upon herself to change the situation so that everyone can be happy again.
So while she may be maternal, that doesn't mean she doesn't know how to have fun. She likes to go out and party as much as the next person -- or possibly more. She loves to dance and to flirt and tease and she encourages her brothers to do the same, though some require less encouragement than others! After all, if they're happy then she's happy.
Some people would say it isn't healthy of her to tie her happiness so closely to the happiness of her siblings (and everyone else, to a lesser extent). She ought to break free of the shackles binding so many women in the past, not succumb to the idea that women exist solely to support their families. Good luck convincing her of this. That warm fuzzy feeling she gets when all is right in the world? That means more to her than social theories, regardless of the truth contained therein.

History
The Richmond family could never be described as normal. After all, what other parents would name all their children after the pantheon of an ancient culture, archaeologists or no? Not that Sakky knew her family was weird early on; her parents took her with them, educating her as best they could between digs, making sure not only to cover the information required by England's Department for Education, but also to impress upon her a love for history and a respect for other cultures. She spent a great deal of time with the locals of whatever town or village her parents were staying in, and as soon as she was old enough she began to collect recipes, filing away information on what would, in England, be exotic dishes and ingredients.
When she was 11 this arrangement came to an end: Amelia and Marcus decided that their children would benefit more from being settled in one place, where they could form lasting friendships with other children their age. After all, Ra was now 20, which meant he was old enough to look after his younger siblings (although a nanny was hired to help him) and so they were sent back to Somerset, where Sakky was enrolled in a regular secondary school. There was a small part of her that thought this wasn't entirely fair, since the eldest three had been allowed to travel with their parents for most of their schooling, but she never voiced this thought aloud: she would miss her parents and she would miss traveling to other countries, but if she stayed behind she would miss her brothers even more.
Secondary school was where she first began to realize just how abnormal her family was. A girl living with her brothers, most of whom were meta-humans, their parents always away traveling? And what was with those names? She found that she missed traveling with her parents; people from other cultures accepted their eccentricity because they didn't know it wasn't normal for Britain, and her parents coworkers accepted it because they were familiar with her parents.
And to make them even more unusual, heterosexual was a word definitely not known by any of her siblings. Sexual fluidity seemed so normal, especially for someone surrounded by it at home, but the first time she confessed to having a crush on another girl ended with most of the other girls at school shunning her.
As school was miserable and she already knew what she wanted to do with her life, she skipped Sixth Form, which means she's been out of school for about a year and a half; she was waiting tables, hoping to learn everything she could about the running of restaurants so that she can open her own one day. However, with the state of her brother she's put her dream on hold, quitting her job to come to Pilot Ridge, Vermont indefinitely. She's sure she can pick waitressing up again, but her brother needs her now.
