Name: Leonardo Francis Charter
Nicknames: Leo, Sparky, Lionman
Age: 16
Orientation: Heterosexual
Desired Rank/Job: Student
Powers:Electrokinesis
Control: On a scale of 1-10 a 3
Leo isn’t very much in control of his powers. He can create his own electricity but he finds it difficult to project it away from himself in bolt form. He can also ‘feel’ electricity going through computer wires and outlets but can't doesn't seem to have the control to pull the raw electricity from them and use it.
Side- Effects: Leo is always twitchy, he always has to be doing something with his hands and it is almost impossible for him to say still. After using his powers he has horrible migraines and a slight tingling sensation in his hands and arms.
Training: He has never really spent more than a few sessions practicing with his powers. It's not that he doesn't want to control them it's just that he finds it absolutely frustrating. Even after successfully creating a bolt of electricity the proceeding headache lands him in bed with a bottle of aspirin for the next few hours.

The Details
Hair Color:Dark brown curly locks.
Eye Color:Light Blue with a small mixture of hazel in the center.
Any Piercings?One in both ears
Any Tattoos? No
Any Scars? He has a few on his forehead and on the side of his face from when he fell of his bike and landed on the curb when he younger. He also has a few miscellaneous ones on his knuckles and knees.
General Appearance: Leo is boy of average height and appearance. He stands at about 5 foot 11 inches ( if you included the his curly dark brown mess of hair you could probably add another inch) and has lightly tanned skin from all of the time he spends outside. His face resembles many of his father's features (large full cheeks when he smiles, dark bushy eyebrows, ect. ) but he gained his mother's warm and innocent smile.
Leo's body is thin, enough so that when he stretches you can see the ribs poking out on his sides. Although he is thin, he is far from being muscular. Most of his muscle strength is in his legs from all the walking and hiking he did back in Arizona.
When it comes to getting dressed in the morning, Leo tends to wear nice button up shirts with plain tee shirts underneath. As far as pants go he usually sticks to some nice blue jeans with a plain belt. He doesn't really worry too much about his hair, giving it a slight comb every once in a while just to keep it from getting too out of control for his liking. Other than the ritual of a daily shower and the occasional spray of cologne, Leo is out the door without too much of a fuss.
Personality:Leo has the tendency to be shy and quiet in large group environments. He is the type of guy that would choose reading and studying over a party. With a small group of people or one on one with someone he tends to be slightly more talkative. He finds it hard to think of topics that would interest his peers and spends most of the conversation listening intently to the other person.
After being around Leo you would notice that he is fairly nice and polite. You wouldn't see him burping loudly in a restaurant or making farting noises with his armpit. He is the kind of guy who opens doors for women and says sorry for practically everything ( almost to the point where it could be considered annoying).
Leo also has a intense problem with sitting still. Even if he is stuck in the classroom his leg is always bouncing up and down nervously or his hands tap rhythmically on the desk. You could also note that he is a bit of a clutz. He tends to trip on his own two feet and run into people on either side of him. This would mostly be due his deteriorating peripheral vision but even with full vision the boy has the ability to trip over flat surfaces.
Leo could also be considered prime pickings for bullies. He doesn't stand up for himself and isn't one to stand up for others. He would let a bully verbally abuse him without speaking up, just hoping that they loose interest and leave him alone.

Strengths: He is a complete history buff. He loves anything to do with ancient civilizations and societys. He is also big into space and the stars and can name many of the constellations.
Weaknesses:His greatest weakness would probably be Math or gym class, although talking to girls and working technology come in close second.
Fears: He has a fear of becoming completely blind as well as a fear of heights.
Secret:Leo was diagnosed with Retinitis pigmentosa ( a incurable hereditary disease that eventually leads to full blindness) at age 11. Ever since coming to Hammel he has kept this between himself and the doctors. He doesn't feel like he needs people feeling sorry for him.

History
Leo was born on February 21, 1995 at Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow, Arizona. As a little kid he was quite rambunctious and always outside. Sometimes it seemed like the second Leo got clean he was dirty again. He was definitely explorative and cheerful, and had politeness gently beat into him from an early age. It was the kind of politeness someone would find endearing in a very young child, like holding doors for people. He was also sort of an artistic kid, and finger painting was especially fun.
At age five his parents took him to the nearby crater for his birthday. It may have been just a huge hole in the ground to any other kid, but that “big hole” sparked an interest in the little child that has so far spanned his life. He felt so small next to the massive hole and it enthralled him. From then on, meteorites and space where one of his really big interests. He liked to learn things about space, and once he really started reading it became a passion for him. Leo was “annoyingly inquisitive”, the kind of kid who had to ask questions about everything
When he turned seven his parents gave him a telescope, and after that he never seemed far from it. He set it up outside and was out there “whenever it wasn’t raining.” Space and meteorites were what he was about, and with that came history. Leo definitely loved history, especially anything to do with ancient history. In opposite he was always horrible with math, and ended up having to have tutors to be at the right proficiency level. When he was eight he was gifted with the most useful thing a meteorite hunter could ever want; a metal detector. The little machine was constantly in use, and while he found many sorts of cool odds and ends he found few meteorites in his younger years. Those that he did find he kept in a little worn treasure box.
Leo was a young, polite, moderately social kid; the kind of kid every mom would want. Around the age of eleven that changed. Leo started to complain about not being able to see as well at night, and his parents took him to the doctor. They had to give in to the truth. Leo had retintitis pigmentosa, an incurable eye disease that would eventually lead to full blindness. When he found out Leo went into a slight depression. He drew away socially and had to kind of think about what it meant. He spent an increasing amount of time outside staring at the sky. Painting became something he used a bit more often as a therapeutic tool for himself.
He started to slowly grow into a more complex person. Leo developed a liking for slower music with a meaning behind it, ancient civ history, art, hiking and still space and meteorites. While for a while he had withdrawn, he did finally snap out of a bit around thirteen. He had needed the time to think about how his life would be and how much it would change. Leo wasn’t the kind of person to talk a whole lot, but he was definitely a good listener and could listen to others speak at length. It was also when he was thirteen that Leo decided to take up piano. He jokingly told his mother “Well, if I’m going to be blind someday I might as well be a blind guy who can play piano.”
At about fourteen another life changing event happened. He discovered he was a meta. It was a stormy night and he was doing some research on Mayan culture. For a second his hands felt very strange, then he felt like he had stuck his fingers in a light socket. His computer crashed and the breaker in his house overloaded. Leo passed out. His parents found him there, and thinking he had fallen asleep carried him to bed. After that he was very cautious around electronic devices, for a few days. It wasn’t long before someone showed up at his doorstep to talk to his parents. The “recruiter” was from Vermont and represented The Hammel Institute, a school for meta- humans. He told Leo’s parents that the boy had some form of electrical based power and would need to go to Hammel for training. Leo’s impression of this person was of cold and intimidation, and he took a disliking to the man. Even so, Leo’s parents agreed that it would be necessary.
So it was off to a new school for him. He liked the library and the grounds, and those were places he ended up spending most of his free time. He joined the art club although he wasn’t too much of a participant. He liked looking at others art and was sort of secretly looking for someone to give him some pointers and maybe even lessons about art. Leo didn’t really find any other groups or clubs that interested him. He continued his meteorite hunting, having only a few successes. The one big thing about coming to Hammel was that he had resolved not to tell anyone about his someday becoming blind. Honestly, he didn’t want anyone feeling sympathetic for him because of something he couldn’t change.
Since coming to Hammel he hasn’t really worked with his power much, and he has recently started having trouble with his peripheral vision. His piano has gotten better, as well as his art, and his passion for stars, ancient history, and of course meteorite hunting still burns strong.
Roleplay Example
Dust churned in the morning air as wind blew in from the coastline that boarded Spargus. The sun had barley made its way across the horizon, and the first rays that escaped the tall mountains bathed the streets in a golden hue. A distant tapping noise could be heard, mixed with the usual footsteps of the people on the street. The sound came from a man, his bright blue hair sticking out ageist the warm tones of the city.
The man sported a dark coat, the sleeves messily drawn up to his elbows, as well as a white tee shirt. Strapped to his back was a stuffed pack, adorned with a shovel as well as other miscellaneous items. In his right hand he held a staff, that he tapped on the street rhythmically in front of him, and in his left he held a small journal.
The journal was a subdued maroon, the leather tattered and worn from repeated use and abuse. The precursor lettering that titled it was equally as battered, the golden letters mellowed and dull. The text was still readable, and it voiced the young mans name. Leonardo.
With a sigh, the tapping stopped, and Leo came to a halt. I think she told me that we were meeting up here? He asked himself, maneuvering his journal under his right arm. Slowly he reached his hand out to feel the for the door that lay in front of him. He remembered where he was well, his mind picturing the garage of vehicles as well as the desert sands that lay beyond.
A small crackle of blue eco arched across Leo's skin, trying to find its way to the gears that were hidden within the wall. Quickly he pulled his hand away, clenching it into a fist until the tingling sensation stopped.
She should be hear already, it's going to be too hot to travel if she gets here any later. Leo thought giving out an audible groan as he leaned ageist the wall, his body tingling with the excitement of going artifact hunting again.
