Eat, Drink and be Family (Sean, Bailey)

Family dinner.
The Bernstein family had expected their children to eat with them nightly when they had lived at home. They had expected them to eat with the family at least once a month when they were in college and grad school. Once he had graduated family dinners had been a thing of the past, up until he had moved back in with Sean.
Josh moved into the kitchen, sniffing appreciatively at the odors filling the air.
"It smells delicious." He commented, folding up the newspaper he had been reading and dropping it with a rustle onto the counter. He glanced toward the stove, where his partner and their foster daughter were working. "What flatware do we need?"
He had always helped set the table, even when merely Sean's guest. It was the least he could do, since the telepath did the cooking. Now , however, there was a third pair of hands to help.
"Are your notes all in order for the assembly?"
Tomorrow Sean and Bailey returned to Hammel, and Josh went back to the office. The attorney felt a pang of regret at this; he had enjoyed the weekend, cycling around the lake and reading indoors and even the chores that occupied so much if every free day. Still, he knew that he would grow bored if he retired. He derived a sense of satisfaction from his job, and he knew Sean felt the same.
Even if the assembly he was preparing for at times had stressful results thanks to troublesome students.
