Cobalt had never been here before. It was a nice house. He wished that Josh wanted to actually go out for lunch, but he wanted to stay in and Cobalt wasn't a child, so he agreed to go over and eat with Josh at the house the older man shared with Sean. (Fortunately, Sean was out, because there was only so much he could handle) He was uncomfortable, to be sure, but it was the type of awkward he always felt when he was a guest in a house he'd never been in before. Honestly, he was too tired to care too much.
He wished he didn't feel so tired. Or miserable. And it made him angry that it was something as trivial as ending some stupid relationship that was the reason he was so upset. He spent the whole weekend convincing himself he didn't care. Because he didn't. Sure, it was sort of unfortunate, but not altogether surprising. But he didn't care. He was sure that Ben didn't care either, so that was that.
Aware that he'd been sitting quietly for far too long, he looked up at his friend and scrambled for something to say. "So, how have you been?" Small talk was never his strong point, but there wasn't anything else he could think of to say.
