Is this costume slutty enough? (Chloe)

Set 2 weeks ago, the 15th of October

Mason doesn’t really do Halloween shopping. Or any other kind of shopping apart from grocery shopping (and even then he still bemoans that). Stereotypical as it seems, the idea of going round and round to look for a supposedly better and cheaper shirt only to come back to the first store he walked in three hours ago just doesn’t sit well with the man. He’s all for stretching his dollar and getting the most for his hard-earned money, but the work that it entails just doesn’t seem to be worth it. He says he’d rather do a column chromatography experiment for five different drinks than walk around the mall and have his feet ache.

Unfortunately for him, Andrei suddenly had something to on the weekend he’s supposed to go candy and décor shopping so the task fell on him. Oh, and he has to look for a costume too, since his brother told him they’ll be going somewhere for that particular weekend.

The first person to ask for help that came into his mind was Flo (since he knows Sam and Levi, awesome best friends as they may be, are men and would possibly abhor shopping as much as he does). But then he remembered how brutal costume shopping with her was last year (she kept on insisting he try out a princess costume and go as Rapunzel) so that idea’s shot down. Ella didn’t have a chance of being chosen. Summer would’ve been a nice companion, but then he doesn’t want her to know how clueless he can be when it comes to shopping.

Which brings him to Chloe.

Lucky for him Ella’s roommate (or was it girlfriend now?) wasn’t busy and happily agreed to go Halloween shopping with him. They’ve been looking around for an hour now and so far, everything seems to be going fine. “You think we have enough candies already?” he asked as he put another bag of Snickers in their basket.

Chloe, like most women, greatly enjoyed doses of retail therapy. She could find joy in even the most mundane of tasks, even grocery shopping. (Thanks to her burning desire to please Ella and make her only the best meals that she was capable of and she always has fun getting the ingredients for new recipes.)

So it was understandable that she was excited when Mason had asked her to go Halloween shopping with him. She liked Mason, he was easy to talk to and made her laugh, and it was good for her to spend time with someone that wasn't Ella.

Chloe peered into the basket that held numerous bags of candy, tapping on her bottom lip. "Um, probably, but how about we snag a bag of peanut butter cups just for us? Shopping is hungry work, you know." Without really waiting for an answer, she already grabbed a bag of the mentioned candy, then stopped dead in her tracks. "Omigod, Mason, look!" She pointed ahead, to a aisle filled with hats and masks of all sorts, then grabbed the man's arm and basically dragged him towards them.

"Have you thought about what you're going to dress up as?" She asked as she picked a cowboy hat off the rack and reached up to set it on top Mason's head.

“Make that two then,” laughed Mason, grabbing another bag and putting it on their basket, “We deserve at least that. Shopping for goodies to give away is no easy trick after all.” The man wouldn’t admit it, but he does have at least a semblance of a sweet tooth. At least for Reese peanut butter cups he does. Which means he wouldn’t really share a bag if he needs to. Even if it’s with Chloe.

Still focused on the thoughts of having a Reese bag for himself in just a short while, he posed little to no resistance when Chloe dragged him away, unaware of what’s waiting for him.

“Costume? No. Nothing yet anyway.” While he loves the treats, he’s not that into the whole costume-making scene. He’s not much of a party-goer anyway (and when he knows of what happened to Kali, seems like he’ll never be), so he didn’t really have a need to worry much about it. He usually worries about it when the time comes and all that.

Procrastination, it runs deep down inside him.

“Do we have another staff party coming up? Because if we do, I’m totally going to need your help. I’m so blank on what to be.” Though the cowboy hat seems rather enticing.

The man doesn’t know what he just got himself into doesn’t he?
