General Appearance:
Mallory is one of those 'curvy and I know it' women. She's well aware she's got some padding, and no, she's not ashamed or embarrassed. She's comfortable in her own skin, and if someone has a problem with that, they aren't worth her time.
Her hair is a natural, vibrant red, and apart from the occasional highlight/lowlight job, she doesn't like to mess with it much. Sure, she'll try all kinds of hairstyles and cuts, but do not mess with that color. It's one of her favorite features, along with her dark brown eyes. She has relatively short eyelashes, but she has a habit of layering on the mascara to enhance them that little bit. What good are pretty eyes without pretty eyelashes to flutter?
She's average in height, but she, like most girls, loves high heels to give her that little extra height boost. It helps that it makes her legs (not her favorite feature, but they're functional), look just a tad more attractive. Her weight can be a touchy subject, depending on what's being said, and who is saying it. If her siblings are picking on her, it will likely result in a noogie, because she knows it’s just play. If someone’s out just to be cruel about it, there will be just a little bit of hell to pay. This also makes her protective of heavier students, and any bitchiness in the hallways will be met with a deadly force.
Most of her clothing is things she’s come up with on her own. She’s a big fan of dressing ‘girly’, with dresses and skirts and pretty blouses, both at work and at home. She isn’t opposed to jeans and a t-shirt though, when it’s appropriate. She doesn’t do a lot of makeup, just enough to highlight features, and she’s a big fan of the smoky eye look with eye shadow. Her nails are often painted as well.
Personality: Bright, bubbly, feisty. Mallory is a playful woman, with no qualms about joking around with students and staff alike. She’s big on family and friends, and likes nothing more than be immersed in a big crowd of people. She’ll make friends with just about everyone that’s friendly with her, but don’t get her wrong. She’s well capable of looking out for herself, and can tell the difference between sincerity and just plain sleazy.
As a teacher, she’s a good mix of easygoing and stern, when she needs to be. Home Economics is an easy subject to teach when the kids are interested and involved. It’s the kids that sign up for ‘easy credits’ she doesn’t particularly enjoy. She tries to make the class as interesting and fun as possible, often giving them the freedom to choose their own projects. As long as they work, and aren’t trying to kill each other, she’s happy enough. Of course, it’s when they get out of hand that she can show her students that she’s not all sunshine and rainbows. She’s not afraid to dole out detention, or send students down to Sean for discipline.
She can be a feisty thing, both in play and in other areas. She loves to argue for the sake of arguing, even if the premise is ridiculous. She’s also stubborn, and once she sets her mind to something, there is no stopping her.
As far as relationships go, she’s careful. She can flirt easily enough, but going into any sort of romantic relationship, she is very analytical. She was teased enough to know that boys (even adult boys) can be nasty sometimes, and while she’s never let herself be taken advantage of, it’s put a bit of a damper on her view of men and relationships. She often questions if they’re being sincere or not, which is why she’s gotten so good at picking up on those little social cues. She’d like a solid relationship, yes, but until that happens, she’s happy where she is.

History
Mallory wasn’t exactly born a Reynolds. She honestly doesn’t know who her birth mother is, let alone her biological father. She really doesn’t want to, either. Her parents have always been upfront about the fact that she had been adopted.
The Reynolds had tried for years to have children, but it didn’t seem to matter what they tried. Finally, they tried the adoption route. They’d always wanted children, and after clearing all the hoops the Government required them to jump through, they were placed on the waiting list. A year later, they got lucky. They got their call, and after meeting with the mother, they agreed to adopt the baby.
Mallory was instantly loved by her new parents. She was a sweet child, endlessly curious and adventurous. As a little girl, she grew up loving dolls and dresses, playing house with her mother and snuggling up on her father’s lap while being read to. She liked being an only child.
For parents who previously couldn’t conceive, adoption seems to have the uncanny effect of reversing that. Despite her love of being an only child, when presented with the idea of a baby sibling, Mally was ecstatic. By the time she was seven, she was the oldest of four children. For the most part, the youngest were more or less living dolls. Tiny creatures that could be held and dressed up, and when they cried or smelled, they could be given up to their mother.
She grew up very close to her siblings, but she bonded the best with her sister. Together they talked about make-up, and boys, and clothes, and giggled well into the night while their brothers just rolled their eyes. She’s still the closest with her sister.
During her school years, Mallory, while social and outgoing, was never really part of the ‘popular’ groups. She wasn’t the skinniest, or the trendiest, but she was happy enough. At least until she learned about bullies. Boys would tease her, as boys are wont to do at a young age, about anything and everything. Thankfully, she had friends that helped her ignore them, regardless of how much the comments stung. She kept most of the effects of their comments inside, which eventually led to her short bout of anorexia. Her mother taught her ways to cope with them, without resorting to self destruction.
Unfortunately, her temper wasn’t always so easy to keep tamed. In the hallways of her middle school, a few students were giving her a particularly hard time, and she lost control. What she didn’t realize was that when the students started coughing and wheezing, that it was her fault.
Hammel recruited her quickly, and though she missed her siblings, she actually enjoyed her time at the school. She made friends, did well in her classes, and after graduation she headed to the University of Vermont for her teaching degree. Applying her love for both cooking and sewing, she completed her classes there, and submitted her resume to the only school she’d ever really felt at home. She was taken on as the Home Economics teacher, and has since worked there for two years.
